What's wrong with performance capture? I mean Yeah it makes freakish spooky walking doll creature thingies that want to eat your soul, but that's usually if they go beowulf and try to make it look unnecessarily real. It could look cool, like monster house. Plus we haven't seen spielburg or jackson do one of these yet, perhaps the right person hasn't had their chance yet. Wait until we see some images... I bieve they choose this rout because they wanted snowy the dog to look just like the drawings, and he would look out of place with live action counterparts. Garfield anyone?

is a terrific writer. This is great news, the 'writers' of the Pirates and Spiderman movies will be hanging their heads in shame when they get a load of what Moffat can do. Hopefully this will lead to an increase in quality in blockbuster scripting. Check out The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 2 part Who story, it's better than most movies.

The best new Dr Who episodes (heck amongst the best ever) have all been writen by Moffat. Heck, Blink barely had 5% of the Dr in it and it still manage to be awesome. With his excellent writing, fans could kinda put up with Russell T. Davies but now Davies is gonna be hung out to dry. It was inevitable that Hollywood would notice.

Great news for Tintin having The Moff onboard. His DW scripts are just quality stuff - indeed, even if you've never liked DW, "Blink" is just genius sci-fi. Watch it. Tintin is slated for release in 2009, and DW's fifth season is slated for 2010. I'd say he could still do DW -- well, unless he's contracted to write ALL THREE Tintin movies.

I (like millions of other Europeans)know the Tintin books really well, am a big fan of the series and I think Mo-Cap is absolutely the most exciting way to go for translating the books to the screen, really really looking forward to these movies. Yes, Jeunet would be a fine choice indeed as third director. These movies are gonna be worldwide smashes, no doubt about that. How cool that millions of Americans of whom I bet 99.9 % have never ever heard of Tintin will get to know Herge's characters because of Spielberg's and Jackson's love for his terrific comic book series. Here's hopin these movies are actually gonna get made. I really hope they stick to the stories of the comic books. Here's the stories I would love to see the most turn into films; The Seven Chrystal Balls, it's follow-up Prisoners of the Sun, Land Of Black Gold, Tintin in Tibet and Flight 714. But I would love to see any of 'em get made.

What a great show. I remember being into this around the same time as Degrassi, which it was much better than. It had pre-AB FAB Julia Sawalha and she was terrific. The Linda-Spike stuff was always good. Gabrielle Anwar was in it too for a while. Remember Sadie Frost and Claire Forlani appearing in it also? Anyway, yeah the UK Coupling was great, but I'm yet to check out much of the new Dr Who.

Guys, time will tell, but I think you're both gonna be very wrong. I don't doubt hardly any American knows Tintin, but I bet that will change overnight once these movies come to theatres. It's not like those movies are not gonna be advertised correct ? Do any of you have any idea what the stories in the comic books are like ? Don't you think there's gotta be a good reason why Spielberg and Jackson are looking forward to making movies from the Tintin books ? If they start making the films, the first one is I no doubt at least 2 1/2 years away. I think these films are gonna do phenomenally well in the USA, just you wait and see.

Fresh cast of characters getting minutes of screen time and I loved them all. Heard Martha's moving to Torchwood. If that happens. That Sparrow chick should be the Doctor's next companion. Tate's all right as a guest, but Sparrow would be brilliant in the long run. And Jekyll. That's made him a lock for Writing God status. Riveting right up to end. Gets better and better and left me screaming for more. The dialogue is a thing of beauty. Gibna Bellman and James Nesbitt are the standouts, but everyone comes out great. The lesbian PIs and the former friend are particularly fun.

That and Asterix were about the only comics school libraries have ever stocked. They're sort of popular. Just because film is supposedly an "American art form" (how insular and nowadays well, arrogant) doesn't mean the foreign filmmakers count any less. So many people are dog-in-the-manger about Hollywood and cinematic territorialism. Shouldn't EVERYONE make and enjoy movies? Anyway if I got you wrong I apologise.

To stay sort of on-topic, one of the many things I love about Thunderbirds is the writing structure. The device of having the climax at the halfway point and then revealing it to be a stepping stone to the main climax is just fantastic. It holds up too. My Dad introduced me to it when I was a kid, and now my kid loves it too. Neither of us were told "you should watch this" though. Tellingly, although my boy loves the actual machines in that turd of a movie (which weren't bad let's be fair), the story (!) didn't hold his interest for long before he went back to the old series (no hinting from me). Great stuff. I wonder how long it'll take HIM (italics) to realise Alan's a screaming queen though.
