I sincerely hope that they go with lesser known actors for this movie so that they can be singed for more. However, in the case of Green Lantern, you can actually have John Stewart die in the first film and have either Hal Jordon or Kyle Rayner replace him in the sequels. But they'll probably get a lot of shit for killing the only black guy (Unless Laurence Fishburn is the Martian Manhunter) so they'll probably just stick with John Stewart. I really don't mind who it is however, just as long as it's casted right. No STARS! Except for Laurence Fishburn. He really is perfect for the Martian Manhunter.

It's going to confuse audiences and especially since more Bale/Routh movies are coming out. Bale is contractually obligated to make "Shadow of the Bat" and Routh signed up for 3 Superman movies. It's not like they are going to change the suits, so this makes it even worse.

This is the shit I hate about Hollywood fucking around with a super hero movie. Don't get people just because of (1)they're hot looking, (2) are famous or (3) are the favor-of-the-month. Get lesser know actors that FIT the parts both visually and character quality wise. Now Laurence Fishburn would be great, he has that classic manner that fits Hal Jordon more; at least that's my opinion. I wouldn't mind Fishburn play Hal Jordon if it does come to that. But I would make him as Martian Manhunter just because the dude is one of the best acters out there and deserves a big part like this. But Tyrese Gibson as Green Lantern. . . really bad choice. Terrence Howard, now we're talking. Get Howard as John Stewart and we go a solid Green Lantern. Now if Hollywood would stop dicking around and start looking for some actors that FIT THE CHARACERS!!!

Consistency - JLA and other comic to movie titles

I don't care about known or unknown actors. All I would care, is that they can do the part in such a way that you would truly feel they are the heroes they are supposed to represent from the comics. The two best examples of characters that truly seem to come directly from comics to screen, to me have been Judge Dredd (Stallone) and Wolverine (Jackman). And of course, consistency in the sequels, sign `em for the duration. Makes it way more fun and again, believable :) Cheers!

I can see it. I'm sure Justice League isn't going to have the same type of deep personal stuff that Batman Begins or the Spiderman films had. It'll be like the Transformers of superhero films, big and flashy. So with that in mind I'd say go ahead and cast someone who's recognizable but not an A-lister. This is kind of like how when Batman vs. Superman was being prepared Wolfgang Peterson had Jude Law and Colin Farrell in mind, or at least stars of that caliber. As for the coexistence between this movie and the Superman and Batman franchises, as long as they don't do anything to step on eachother's toes it won't confuse audiences. Kind of like in the comics world, how the Batman books are much more grounded in reality while in JLA he's off fighting martians. So long as there's no line in Dark Knight about Batman being "the world's only superhero" or something like that, it should be fine.

I've been a DC fan since the Silver Age, and can't understand why people can't handle different actors playing Superman and Batman - in the comics, the art can be extremely different from title to title, as are the versions of the hero by various writers - it never made me doubt this was the same CHARACTER - as long as the actor is good, the costume looks good, the FX, writing and directing top notch, we should all be excited and happy this may finally get made.

Although Bale is the best Batman yet I thought Roth was lightweight as Superman. Just watch Chris Reeves' physical presence as both supes and kent and he makes you believe it's two different people. His kent is a likeable goof and his supes is a powerful diety like being. Roth's Kent is a puppy and his Superman is a puppy who can fly. On top of this I like George Miller. I hear his script for 'Thunder Road' was fantasic. His action stuff on a low budget was iconic. I'm excited to see what he does with a lot of money.

I wished they would use Hal Jordan, but I know that most of the exposure that kids have to the Justice League has been on the Cartoon Network (awesome show, by the way), so they gotta go with a familiar face to sell more happy meals, so they go with John Stewart. If they're going with Stewart I'd rather see an actor like Eamonn Walker in the role. He's knock it out of the park! Also, if they're going with Stewart as Green Lantern, I'd rather this not be an origin movie. I'd like for the filmmakers to at least pretend that there were other GL's out there besides (and before) John Stewart.

Can someone please explain to me why in God's name Warner Bros. are intent on making this imminent shit? Jessica Biel? Tyrese Gibson? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! On a more rational level… you've got Christian Bale – the perfect Bruce Wayne/Batman, and Brandon Routh – a really good choice for Superman who will hopefully have more chance to shine in the sequel (though one has to admit, for all SUPERMAN RETURNS' faults, Brandon Routh did a great job). Which moron at the studio was the one that said, "Okay, so our two actors from these massive franchises DO NOT want to be a part of this film and get paid lots of money... let's just cast two other people in their roles."? A. If your talent isn't interested in making a film because they KNOW it's merely a cash-in with little chance of being something memorable, and B. If you've already found the best actors to play those roles... why push forward and run the risk of fucking up your franchises that have JUST gotten back on track? Unbelievable.

I've got nothing against casting a black actor as Green Lantern, but the character should be Hal Jordan (or at least use Hal's backstory and just call him "john stewart"). Stewart's character is the least interesting of all major GLs (Jordan, Alan Scott, Kyle Reiner, Guy Gardner are all more interesting as characters). If memory serves correctly, in the comics Stewart was literally defined for a long time by his lack of imagination is employing ring and the problems that caused him.

Anyone else see "Baby Boy?" Great film, great performance from Tyrsese.

Maybe I am just over the hill or in a pessimistic mood, but it is hard for me to imagine how this could be a good movie, even with a good cast/script/director. I just don't see the potential. Too crowded for a good popcorn flick, too high-budget for something really interesting.

I dunno, hope I'm wrong. As it is, superhero movies have worn pretty thin. It's a little sad that this is what 21st century american cinema is all about.

Seems to me X-Men 2 had a huge list of characters and did fairly well and earned some critical praise. Success has less to do with the number of characters (though don't get all boated) and more to do with how those characters are handled. X2 did a pretty good job, X3 did not. Personally, I'd just like to get the people involved in the Justice League Unlimited TV show to do a movie.

how can there possibly be a green hornet and a green arrow movie before there is a green lantern movie? GL is one of the best characters in the DC universe and he gets nothing. for my money he's #2 behind batman in terms of being an interesting, compelling, and fun character. Seriously, DC movie people suck. they need to learn from the Marvel people. I know WB owns DC, but still there should be more output than there is. At least have a good Animated movie division. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Emerald Dawn (rise of Hal Jordan) is chapter 1. Chapter 2 is Emerald Twilight (destruction of Coast City by alien invaders, Jordan can't understand why the Guardians wont let him fix everything and he turns back on them, he takes down the Corps, one final ring makes it to Kyle Rayner's hand). Chapter 3 Emerald... Night? Knights? A New Dawn? Whatever. Kyle Rayner must find a way to stop Hal Jordan from reforming the universe with his godlike powers. It would be very cool to have the hero of the 1st movie go rogue in the 2nd and villain in the 3rd. Then they could make a 4th movie with a new Green Lantern Corps where some huge threat can be handled only if they bring back Hal Jordan from imprisonment (by Rayner's request), so Hal redeems himself in the end. I think Hal Jordan fans couldn't possibly complain as he would be at the center of all the movies.

All the news on this is garbage. It is reprehensible that DC WB would run Bats and Supes in parallel to another Bats and Supes in JLA. Shit what would the kids think. WB is far better off developing Flash and Wonder woman properties, which are easier to develop, picking smart scripts and good director ala Begins. Note: Absolutely hate Superman, and Wellling is an absolutely atrocious actor and will always look 18,21 Tommy model. Routh is better but looks gay in Returns (likely due to singer and gay suit)
Casting
by Booster Gold Lives
Sep 29th, 2007
06:53:25 PM
First of all, they would've been smart to leave Superman and Batman out of the movie altogether -- forget the existing franchises for a second, those two will overshadow everyone else in the film. But that ship has sailed, so whatever. As far as casting, as always, they should be looking at 1) who fits the part and 2) who could potentially carry their own film, should this one pave the way for spinoffs. Unknowns would be the best, but unknowns are tricky; on the other hand, too many names could possibly inflate the budget and lead to cutting corners elsewhere, which leads to a hack film. Personally, I think this film is a mistake waiting to happen, but I'm not in charge. That said, I say to scour the globe for unknowns. At best, you'll launch several careers along with the franchises; at worst, fewer careers will be wrecked.

by Le Vicious Fishus

Party Kidz! ALL of the cast needs to be between the ages of 30-40 with the exception of the Flash and, yes, possibly GL (though I'd much prefer Hal Jordan--understand the need for a non-white hero though).

You know, if they did go with a 30 something cast, the movie would be 100% more likely to be taken seriously by film critics. Hell, they've got a Grade A director--why not go an artistically daring direction with the cast as well.

I am incredibly sick of seeing "young, beautiful" and not particularly talented actorlings take on roles that make them seem too big for their britches (case in point: Bosworth and Routh in SR). Yes, BATMAN BEGINS works, but only because it's a Year 1 story (and because old Bale is one of the best in the business).

WB: lease please please don't cast "fresh faced," TV actor-models. If you're taking this more seriously than, say, Marvel's lame FANTASTIC FOUR series, I'd like JLA to have a suitably grown-up superhero cast, please.

I always that that Matt Dillon would make a good older superman. He's got the jawline and the deep voice. The real question is will this be a fantastic four or something better. It will also probably be really weird with four different actors playing roles (superman and batman) in movie series that may go on during the same time period. And what are we to expect from George Miller. It's been a while since Mad Max and much closer to "Babe" and "Happy Feet". I think the studios were basing their decision on the more family fare he's done and might go in that direction rather than anything as "edgy" as mad max.

HBO has been playing the shizzle out of Superman Returns lately - and I'm convinced Routh is getting a bad rap. He did a great job with mediocre material. If JLA script is so freakin' awesome - I'm sure he'll rise to the occasion. Give him a chance! And to the poster who said the current Batman franchise ignores the existence of the JLA and Superman? Says who. Just because it's not mentioned doesn't mean it's ignored or that Bats is the only superhero in that universe. I want Bale and Routh but I'm sure it will never happen.
Sure, Routh did a good job
by Le Vicious Fishus
Sep 29th, 2007
09:28:38 PM
sirbroiler: I liked him in SR. I really did. However, I'd like Miller to go with an older JLA cast (30s to 40s). It would lend some gravitas to a scenario that could very easily become ludicrous. Routh seems a tad too young to play an older superman, but maybe he could pull it off.

Artist FKA: I know what you mean. This movie could easily be crap, and it's hard to imagine being able to take it seriously as a live action film. All comic book films have this hurdle to jump to some degree, but with this many heroes in the mix (all costumed up) you've got the biggest credibility problem to tackle since X-Men.

Having no Bale or Routh is first and foremost a good thing. It frees the director to come up with a completely unique vision for the movie -- i.e comic book spandex, Alex Ross style mythos, CGI, X-Men style leather, combat suits, or something completely new and different. Superman Returns was horrible and virtually unwatchable. So thrilled that Routh will not be leading this thing, not to mention he looked more like Superboy. As for Bale's batman, an okay movie, but just couldn't see that take of the character living in a "superhero" world. As for announcing Tyrese, um... I can't see that this is going to have folks ready to pitch tents to camp out for it. Putting out name of a B-list (maybe even C-list) actor doesn't really give this movie any cred. Hopefully they are not casting the film in drips and drabs. Whatever happened to screen tests and having actors read together? A movie with an ensemble cast requires chemistry, not just recognizable names. It would make more sense to me to have them do a major casting search, and then announce a full cast that will be comprised of known and unknown actors in their 20s and 30s. If Tyrese makes the cut then, fine. You'll assume that he has great chemistry and fits in with the overall vision. Not that his agent has been on the phone getting a deal cut. Getting name actors is how you end up with Fantastic Four (blah acting and so-so chemistry). There could be a good, highly enjoyable film in there. Compelling story. Powerful cast. Spectacular art direction. Extraordinary special effects. But with the way they are trying to fast track this franchise I have pretty low expectations.

Ask the average moviegoer who the Green Lantern is and what his power is. Nine times out of ten they'll guess his power is a light of some sort. Some sort of lantern...that is green. Spiderman, Batman, even Superman are pretty self-explanatory.

JLA has had DECADES to fill the public in on who exactly the Green Lantern is. Yet still, no one cares. The only people that care are on this TB right now.

would be fine with me. Frankly, I'm bummed that Jessica B passed on Wonder Woman; even though I think Monica Bellucci would still be very believable in the role, I guess that leaves Kate Beckinsale as a possibility--if nothing else, Underworld and Van Helsing have shown that she can do action just fine. As far as Tyrese How You Gonna Act Like That Gibson goes...ok, I guess; but what about Wesley Snipes? What the hell has HE done lately--he probably could use the work! And can't we get Johnny C. McGinley in there somewhere, doing his Dr. Cox thing?
Sorry, left out a whole sentence there!

After the Monica Bellucci part should have come this: "...she won't be cast because in the eyes of Hollywood twits, she's ancient; and there's no getting around that Italian accent, so you'd have to dub every one of her lines in post-production"...THEN you should read, "Kate Beckinsale, etc etc." Another point in Kate's favor: she's fairly tall (5'8"), and just a little Hollywood magic could make her Amazonian, I would think....The only other choice I could see for Wonder Woman, really, would be Kristanna Loken; and that WOULD allow her to purge the memory of Bloodrayne from those of us who were unfortunate enough to see the movie...

This comic book character speaks English, not Ebonics. This comic book character isn't "urban" and should not be played by a rapper.

Besides, he's already linked to play a superhero more appropriate to his acting style. Luke Cage? Fine, even though there are better choices. John Stewart? No. There are way better choices.

that was the first truly genius casting suggestion (I admit my own Lucy Lawless suggestion a while back is on the obvious side) of the TBs. Especially since Mickey Rooney is no longer with us.

One anti-vote from me for Boring-as/Boreanaz. All the charisma of sand, and that's even apart from being yet another stick-a-Buffy/Angel/Heroes lazy-arse fanboy suggestion. I do like your DKR-type Batman Powers Boothe thing Shermy. WHich is also why I just posted my FIRST! for Lawless, seeing as we're doing that now.

I was listening to a podcast interview with ross last night, and he said there's no-one he can think of at the moment actor-wise that he thought was just right in looks. Interesting and weird!

How could anyone possibly be excited about this. They can barely get one superhero right let alone seven all at the same time. It's going to be total fucking garbage. I literally have a better chance of shooting into the sky under my own powers of flight as this movie does of being any good. The cast is going to be a wretched assortment of "HOT!" faces like Jessica fucking Biel and Tyrese "Transformers" Gibson who can't act and have never touched a comic book in their lives. Combine that with what will inevitably be a horrendous script bastardizing everything we know and love about these characters. I don't think there is a bigger mistake right now in the entire cinematic pipeline than Justice League, and yes that includes the Dirty Dozen remake. If you are excited about it youa re just plain naive.

don't care much for Diggs cause the man just bores me to tears. Seriously Diggs is one of blandest actors around. Nothing i've seen him or more so his part had been intersting. Diggs is like a prop. Now even with that being said i can say that the man is a good actor and is better then Tyrese. Diggs had always been to clean and perfect for my tastes, but he would make a good Stewart. Sadly he wouldn't and like all his roles have anything to do but be a prop. At least Gibson had enough clout where could bring personality to the role despite him being a lessor actor then Diggs. Diggs will never get role where he's interesting, which why i'd keep Tyrese "left cheek" Gibson.

I will admit that I've only seen this man in two movies, Transformers and Baby Boy. His total screentime in the former was likely under 10-minutes. Besides, all the hootin' and'a hollerin' lines had already been given to Anthony Anderson. Incidentally, the REAL racism you're so desperately trying to find is right there in a role like that, both in the way it was written and the way it was performed. As for the latter, Baby Boy, if that wasn't an "urban" movie filled with Ebonics... then what was it?

Look, just because I made a few (appropriate) comments about Tyrese doesn't mean I'm a racist. What is it about this society where only blacks can comment on other blacks? Does it help to know that I'm not white? I said nothing about Tyrese other than his acting style, which I subjectively interpret to be inappropriate for this material. I also suspect that the role will be written for him in a certain way, as was Anthony Anderson's, but hopefully not so heavily slanted. Meaning, that even if he doesn't bring "flavor" to the character, "flavor" will have been written in for him regardless. Ever think of that? And were I truly racist, would I have bothered to capitalize Ebonics?

What has happened to social discourse?

The John Stewart comic book character should not be hijacked by a representative of the minority of the black community. There are much better choices.

Tupac had a few slow songs too. Were he alive, I wouldn't want him to play John Stewart either. And why do you and yours only like Tyrese's ballads? Should I also hypothesize and extrapolate how this must certainly mean beyond a shadow of a doubt that you also are at the very least prejudiced simply because you don't like anything with an upbeat tempo performed by Tyrese? Oh, along with your lady, your grandparents, your neighbors and fellow countrymen too. After all, it's the AICN way to paint with the broad brush, and heavily.

"And I hate to think that where you're getting your term "ebonics" from, because that is a stupid sterotype!"

It is a language form, the study of which was seriously considered to be made available in colleges and high schools on a national scale during the 90s.

Stereotype? What stereotype? I'm keeping it real!

It is not racist nor is it prejudiced to call out Hollowood and be fed up with them for writing blacks as shallow, cartoonish, one-note characters and casting actors whose abilities fit the bill all too perfectly. You see, your problem ultimately does not lie with me if you continue to insist on being fed what is given you. Think.

Tyrese Gibson could work. Check out his work in the movie Annapolis, in which he played a serious minded and rigid Marine. John Stewart, a former U.S. Marine and architect, has always been a more disciplined and law-abiding character than Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner. Hopefully Gibson can pull this off it they research the character and his history enough.

I thought you and I were going to engage in a long, drawn out, goofy Aintitcool-style flame war, and instead you had to go and concede and be reasonable and shit...

Seriously, though, I do see where you're coming from. Yes, not many outside of geekland know or remember who some of these superheroes are (particularly the Martian Manhunter), but JLA contains enough recognizable, mainstream hero character names like Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman and some lesser known but still recognizable hero names like Green Lantern (remember the Superfriends?) and the Flash.

JLA is going to make a boatload of money (see the interest NBC's HEROES has without prior name recognition), even though there is an excellent chance the movie itself will suck ass--particularly if they go with a cast of model-actor, barely 21 PartyKidz (see also: the cast of CLOVERFIELD). The mainstream audience is loving the superhero thing in this cinema-cycle, and I think JLA (good or bad) is a shure bet to be a pretty big to huge box office--if not critical--success.

Oh and whoever had the post.. LOVE the Powers Boothe idea... it is with that in mind that I throw out a Dream Cast.. JLA "Kingdom Come" Style... BATMAN - Powers Boothe.. awesome call.. SUPERMAN - Tom Selleck.. 6'4".. Shave the man and Search your feelings.. Martian Manhunter - Lawrence Fishburne (Just because I can't think of anyone else!)... WW - Lucy Lawless (She's getting a little wrinkley so that's bang on casting..)... FLASH - Ryan Reynolds (Now that they're all older we can have Ryan as the Flash YAY!)... G ARROW - Michael Biehn... Luthor - Mitch Pileggi or Ed Harris haven't decided yet, I know Luthor has gained weight in that book but I think we can thin the character down if the right actor fits..... GL - Harry J Lennix (Simply because they're going with Stewart.. and because the casting budget is being stretched)... Captain Marvel - Billy Zane, Bulk up Billy.... Spectre - Lance Henrikson (VOICE)... I know it all means fuck all in the grand scheme of things, but its fun to dream a little.

Routh deserves a shot at JLA, not his fault "Superman Returns" was Singer's 1978 wankfest. He said in the IESB interview, he would love to be in JLA. Bale is NOT going to be Batman outside of Christopher Nolan's universe, although I'd love to see him in JLA, they could recast Batman and as I posted on the Jessica Biel thread it should be John Hamm from AMC's "Mad Men," he has the look of the comic book Bruce Wayne and the gravitas to pull it off.

WB and Miller
by geodesigns
Sep 30th, 2007
08:50:36 PM
Listen up JLA filmmakers WB and Miller:

Casting will be just one of the hurdles for JLA. Of course, if the script sucks, or if you as filmmakers have no clue what you need to do to make this a 1) fan favorite, 2) general audience favorite, and 3) critics favorite (known as The Big 3 Categories), then no matter who is cast, it will not be the JLA movie fans want. You may as well not do this movie.

First of all, the JLA movie needs a creative team of executive producers, a director, and a studio that that understands they must produce a movie that exceeds the expectations of The Big 3. You need to really assert yourselves in this respect.

Second, with the right people onboard at this early stage (I sure hope you are the right people) a script needs to be commissioned that would rate high for the Big 3.

Since you’re touting this movie as the superhero movie needed to fill the 2009 summer tentpole, then you need to budget this movie not only as a summer movie, but as a superhero movie: the reason: licensing.

A popular movie’s box-office profits will be just a fraction of what it will get through licensing and merchandise deals. The movie industry is a $10 billion industry, but the Licensing industry is a $100 billion a year industry. George Lucas made more money on toys and merchandising of Star Wars series than he ever did with his world-record breaking box-office profit percentage. If this movie exceeds the expectations of the Big 3, it can reasonably reflect a positive merchandising outlook for JLA-related properties. And by the way, be smart in merchandising deals, don’t just sign up any licensee; no trashy merchandise. No shitty videogames, no shitty toys, and don’t over saturate the market too. Be smart about it. The demand should always be higher than the supply. Get DC Licensing involved.

Movie budget: Studios, secure your financers with the goal of making this one of the most profitable superhero movies ever. Don’t go cheap on this one. I can’t believe how bad you’ve mishandled two previous low budget JLA-type outings, like the laughable Challenge of the Super-Friends and the pathetic JLA TV movie pilot. That was not only low budget, but also low intelligence in your part. With a big budget, make sure you get the best Big-3 appealing script that money can buy, and make this movie reflective of a summer blockbuster. The big sell to your financial backers on this one will be that this movie will be “buzz-worthy”, endorsed and promoted by the Big 3. A movie like that can sell itself, to compliment the budget for marketing and promotion. Of course, if you have a flop, don’t blame it on lack of marketing and promotion. And no hack job effects allowed. We’ve seen what can be done, and what has been done. The next movie that should show something that has never been done in FX should be JLA.

Let me emphasize right now that your script needs to be the definitive JLA story. I don’t care if you spend $500 million on the JLA, if the script sucks, then it will be like Batman & Robin—laughable, pathetic and embarrassing. Hire creative consultants from the comic book industry, as well as general audience consultants to review the script, and listen to their recommendations.

And going back to casting, as I have said before: don’t cast YOUR version of the JLA—just cast the JLA! The big 3’s reaction will let you know if you have cast well or miscast. But as a suggestion, a movie as important as this should have a JLA movie website. Post up an official JLA movie website now, and set this up for registered members by showing development progress, casting polls to see who the audience would want as Superman, Batmen, etc. Show concept art, create a message board system, create webcasts, audio casts, meet with the fans at the cons, meet with the movie critics, and give incentives to general audiences to become involved. This movie can represent a significant innovation in the way it can involve the Big 3, and you give this group a huge power in the say of things. In turn, you will be rewarded with huge profits. I’m hoping you can have the foresight to understand just what kind of enormous opportunity you have here. Let’s get movin’ here WB and Miller- earn our respect!

re: Challenge of the Super-Friends and the JLA TV movie pilot, you weren’t on board at the time, so that is directed at those who were the property holders of JLA. WB eventually acquired DC, so I’ll just blame the JLA property holders for those two disasters. But remember, George Miller, you can easily be included in this list, so we’re putting you on notice.

And voice. Batman has got to have the right voice, you know? ...If they can get in the ballpark of making this look like an Alex Ross graphic novel come to life, then major hurdles will already be taken. Then, if only the acting talent can swing for a hit, if not a homerun. (Otherwise, Henry Simmons for GREEN LANTERN and Kate Winslet for WONDER WOMAN and, quite frankly, I'd give SUPERMAN to Routh.)

Dude. You don't like anything, so whenever I read something you write, I just laugh and say "ahhh the users of AICN, how they make me like movies because they are just boring people who like fuck all" i'm curious to hear what music you listen to.

* JUSTICE LEAGUE and options for visual interpretation

When it comes to sequential art, with comic books and graphic novels, I appreciate many styles. There's a long list of artists whom I have a great appreciation for, both past and present. And when it comes to film, I feel much the same...when we are talking visual interpretation. The visual look of a film, along with how exaggeration plays a part (how much or how little of it), is an aspect of film that I find very interesting. It seems there's a chemistry that goes on between the audio and visual... between how REAL or UNREAL each element of film plays out, creating a new reality for the camera eye. Too often, Hollywood will feed us eye-candy that's not much more than that. But in those special moments that last a lifetime, we take part in a feast for our eyes AND our minds. In being familiar with the history of the various Batman flicks over the years, you can see different takes on the various elements of such fantasy, in those films. It's not that hard to imagine Nolan's more life-like take (on Batman) happening on the sets of previous Batman films. Or even on the sets of BLADE RUNNER or SE7EN, as imagination is limitless. You simply end up with a different chemistry for the resulting film. So, if you get what I'm saying, ...then you ARE aware of the many possibilities for a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. We fans can get very excited...and I'm just hoping for some great chemistry, blending effortlessly with fantastic visuals.

I am against all things that further Tyrese Gibson's career. He is an ingrate and a bad actor, a very bad actor. Chuck Norris bad as the South Park guys would say. Let's just put Phil Lamaar in a muscle suit, even that would be preferable and at least we get a killer voice. And for anyone that gets Tyrese mixed up with Taye Diggs, Taye Diggs is the one who doesn't pose for a vanity shot int he middle of a film. Oh and he can act.

If you saw him in Baby Boy and Waist Deep then you know why. I'll admit Eammon Walker from Oz and Idris Elba would bring some heavy seriousness to the John Stewart character. We need some who'd do things his way and not hide behind a mask. Tyrese would be a poor choice and would be pandering to those teens and 20somethings that worship him. I MEAN COME ON!! HE'S A FUCKIN' MODEL THST CAN SING VERY WELL. THAT'S IT!!! But we all know Warner Bros. is going to cast this any way they want to make a buck. In the end we'll make it or break it at the box office when it comes out.
They should cast an UNKNOWN!

Found this picture online. Could this guy be a Green Lantern-John Stewart possibility? Is he in the running? Anybody know? http://www.flickr.com/photos/1 4409570@N02/1469994862/

...Ben Browder. This is who I'd cast if I could do a Green Lantern TV show. GL is just better suited as a TV show because you can shuffle in different leads easier and make everyone happy.
Tyresse?

Aw hell naw! Not only can't the fucker act, but didn't he beat some pregnant chick prior to the release of transformers? I think he's more suitable for the Luke Cage movie, which I know will suck unless you add Iron Fist and Misty Knight in the mix.

"that was a long-winded post."

I apologize for taking the time to explain myself.

"First, JLA haven't been officially cast and already you assume how things will be for John Stewart?"

This website is all about speculation of upcoming movies, isn't it? Why can't I play along with everyone else?

"Second, you assume me and my girl listen to Tyrese exclusively, which we don't. A couple of songs doesn't make us fans of his."

Subjective misinterpretation. Where, exactly, did I accuse you of this? Please copy and paste a quote.

"everyone knows what ebonics means and its outdated and silly to even bring it up."

Yes, as you wrote earlier, everyone knows that ebonics is a "stupid stereotype."

"Dude, I get what you're saying, but that was a long-winded post of nothing new!"

I apologize for finding you worthy to engage in discussion.
