is just plain boring. Flat out if I wanted to watch a show about the emotional and sexual problems of people, I would fucking live life since I know one or two people who fit every aspect of that show. And I dont care that you see some chick jerking off a dude, it was NOT interesting. You have to go to great lengths to make a show with sex vividly detailed bore me to tears... or rather to another station HBO which is what Tell me did.
I'm not a fan of The Wire dvd cover but

HERC-PERBOLE = CN's "best new series in years"

How many new CN shows *are* there every year? I don't know that number, but I *do* know that this sort of Herc-perbole about new shows seems to arrive on a regular basis.

You cheapen the term "Hercperbole" by adding the hyphen.

like TELL ME YOU LOVE ME, that the dummies pipe up about it being "boring"? Ugh. These are the same people who bitch about films like THE THIN RED LINE being boring. Fucking dullards.
Tell Me You Love Me isn't...

"The Thin Red Line." That movie had, like, music and cinematography and editing, shit that "Tell" seems to have ignored in an attempt to be raw, honest and groundbreaking. Also, real-life rich white people with relationship problems don't argue 90% of the time and fuck the other 10%. But hey, what do I know? I'm not raw, honest and groundbreaking, like HBO, which keeps insisting to me that it's raw, honest and groundbreaking.

I really didn't like the first ep of that... We'll see how the second one pans out, but I don't think it's very good. Definitely no Venture Brothers. It's not even close to Frisky Dingo either.

the first season was all over the place. it seems like they've tightened up and focused the series. very much improved ...even the first season, at its worst, was still much better than Lucy. which is sad.. cuz i was rooting for Lucy to be good. it's just not working for me. i had hoped that with 'coach mcguirk' as the main char.... ehhh... i guess it was just hope.
Actually Herc, it's the THIRD episode of Lucy DotD.

The pilot aired years ago and didn't get picked up back then. The episode which aired last week, Escapeoke, continues the storyline from the pilot. You should check the pilot out if you haven't seen it already. It's probably on youtube or something.

This one was much better than last week's. There's something very funny about Ted Danson, as himself, being the villain of the show. And Susie Essman continues to be awesome.

you are a idiot. Its not groundbreaking, its not even fucking close. Its thirtysomething with some tits, ass and OMG a dick here or there. The characters are D U L L. There is nothing remotely interesting about their problems that we have not seen elsewhere.... Hell even American Beauty covered this crap and did it while being pretty interesting. And Im sorry Thin Red Line was good. Tell me isnt going to last this "season" and good riddance. Maybe if HBO could produce a decent new drama without resulting on cliche's that they used with their past crop, I will start taking their "groundbreaking" series crap seriously.
Oh snap! I was banned and comments deleted lol

All for essentially agreeing what Mulah said. (well, I'm sure it was more for constantly berating Herc's writing.. but I find it funny that my similar comment is deleted and then he responds in jokey "ah, you got me!" manner to Mulah)

Well anyway, to summarise I firstly said that Tell Me You Love Me was the most boring pilot I've watched for ages. And even my unashamed love for HBO may not be able to pull me back for more.

Then secondly (and why both posts got deleted I expect) I added that Coaxial is Herc's personal Award Ceremony where every show becomes the "BEST" something, even if it means shaping it down to "the BEST new drama on network tv airing on a Thursday night at 9:30"

and I actually quite enjoyed the first and second episodes... but now it feels more like it's failing because they're trying to appease all audiences

"Hey, we want to be cynical and edgy... but we also want to show that Hank is really a hooker with a heart of gold."

Already got a second season, though. And I admit I will probably watch it, depending what else is opposite.
I never said it was groundbreaking
