Does he say "I may not be a straight man but I know what love is"?

Looking forward to this movie. Tom Hanks, Mike Nichols, Aaron Sorkin - I'm there.

great review, but please people learn to spell. use spell check or something, it's not that hard. it's "Las Vegas suite" not "sweet" and it's "piques" not "peaks".
this script read very tv-ish

it was funny but in that diet-caffeine-free sorta way, yet the final message of the film is the opposite of what you'd expect from a story filled w/ sitcom banter. hopefully nichols can make it work w/ this amazing cast, though this reviewer suggests that the director brings nothing cinematic this time out. a fact that brings it back to tv-land.
so i'm assuming there will be lots of scenes...

with people walking and talking like they're in an Abbott & Costello routine. Seriously, Sorkin is a TERRIBLE writer.
Not a terrible writer...

...nor a great "political" one, just an admittedly skilful craftsman, but with a very limited bag of tricks and tropes. He's a Brand now, along with the other Brands attached to this package, which like most will be marketed in the same manner as a rock supergroup. Look at all this (alleged) pedigree - how can it fail? I think we all know the answer to that. There are amazing, compelling narratives waiting to be told of that era and its impact on our current state, but they're probably better served by good documentaries or even (whisper it), a solid TV drama on premium cable, where the ideas would have a little air (sic) to develop themselves beyond a two hour attention-threshold, with no studio fingers and publicists and agents to fanny up the end-result.

I thnk the reviewer means the late 1970's, not the late 1980's. At least I hope he does. Otherwise, this movie will make no fucking sense.
Oh, and the book for this

Oh, and the book for this movie fucking rocks. They didn't call him "Good Time Charlie" for nothing.

If the writer or director of a movie comes off of doing any kind of TV work, just say that the movie is very TV-like. You never have to explain why and there is no real criteria something needs to meet to be "TV-like" so anything can be TV-like if you say it to be so.
Oh yeah and one more thing..
