where Rudd had me tearing up, I was laughing so hard. Let's pretend everything else in that movie sucked, his lines and deliveries alone, had more comedy than the majority of studio releases.

In all of those great, recent comedies. You always get the sense that he thinks within the boundaries of the character--like, he'll be funny but it has to make sense in some crazy way.
Great Interview, Capone.

You guys were nice enough to post my review of DIGGERS from the Wisconsin Film Festival in Madison.

I've always liked Rudd's work since way back in CLUELESS. He seems like a real genuine guy.

I still stand by my statement on his ass hair, however. Trim that shit, man!

Of course, I should talk.

The stylish one of the group. Fucking hysterical in all of the comedies he's been in since Anchorman.
He should be getting the BIG parts.

I saw Frank Miler cast his "SPIRIT". Probably it would have been a better choice to cast Rudd. George Lucas is making a Star Wars TV series ... well ... I think Paul Rudd has a Han Solo'esque cool about him that that show needs (something that was lacking in the prequels). Like Depp in Pirates and Toby in Spiderman, Paul Rudd is one part away from superstardom.

did he have in 12th Night, one of my fav Shakesperen plays, so out there and bizaree and fun. I'm sure I've seen it, I remember the Helen Hunt version on...PBS I belive from about...10 years ago. Is this the same one Capone is referring to, because I can't for the life of me place Rudd in it.
Capon's DREAM INTERVIEW, and he can't hit spellcheck...

It's ROGEN, with an "E" Capone! And it's "no" not "know", and copy-editing your dream subject's answers might help a bit with him not thinking you're a tool for next time. I don't usually point out spelling errors, but I just can't believe that a guy's interviewing one of his heroes and really trying to impress him and he can be so lazy. Yikes. Beyond that, Capone, you're great, but seriously, man, c'mon!! :-)

Paul Rudd has become one of the funniest people working in films since ANCHORMAN. Honestly, nearly every time he appears in THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN I die of laughter. "I would rather - I would rather watch BEAUTICIAN AND THE BEAST. I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothin' against him, but if I hear 'Yah Mo B There' one more time, I'm gonna 'Yah Mo' burn this place to the ground." CLASSIC!

Paul Rudd is awesome. One of my favorite things he ever did was when he was on Conan promoting some movie, and when it came time to run a clip, they instead ran a clip from Mac & Me (the funniest movie ever.)

PAUL RUDD/DAVID WAIN NEWS

FYI, Rudd is still attached to star in Universal's Big Brothers with Seann William Scott. Here's what you might not know. He was commissioned to write the latest draft of the script, which execs did not like all that much because if they did, the film would've started shooting last month. And second, I bumped into an asst. of Rudd's agent at UTA at the Captivity premiere and she said that David Wain had just signed on to direct the movie. I've seen several drafts of Big Brothers and I thought they were pretty good, but who knows how Rudd's sensibilities have affected it. It could be a completely different film now, so who knows, but I like the potential of his pairing with Stifler, who's got four promising films coming out (Quebec, Southland Tales, Gary the Tennis Coach and the oft-delayed Mr. Woodcock).
In other news, Proman1984 is NOTHING SPECIAL EITHER.

Feels great, doesn't it?

Rudd seems like such a cool dude. I'd buy him a beer and some calamari, perhaps, solely out of respect. I would've laughed my ass off if they left the Lowell joke in 40 Year Old Virgin. The best kind of jokes are the ones where you and two other people are the only ones in the audience who get it.

You lost all credibility when you wrote that Stifler has 4 promising films coming out. That guy is a pariah to film and I thank God every single day a film is released that he is not in. If Rudd actually does a movie with Stifler as his co-star, it will be the jump the shark moment of an otherwise rapidly ascending career. He'll regret it. If I were him I would run away from this Big Brothers movie and never look back. Hopefully, he'll tank the re-write and the fucktards at Universal will keep it on the shelf which is where anything with Stifler belongs.

My friends and I used to use the name "Gern Blanston" to page each other at airports and such. I've never laughed at a fake name more. (And yeah, that particular Steve Martin album.) Guess that makes me solidly of the Paul Rudd generation. (Perhaps why I identified so solidly with him in Knocked Up, especially the birthday cake scene. THAT is parenthood.) Hilarious man.
