John McClane should have died at least ten times in that film, but hey, he's the hero and its a money-making franchise. Still, I did like the car that took out the helicopter bit. The F-35 Harrier-type jet and the 18 wheeler on the freeway was a little too far out though.

action directing I've seen in a long time. Of course, I would prefer action movies drop the whole quick-cut editing bs altogether, but if it has to be done, Len Wisemen has shown he knows how to do it while still making it clear to the audience exactly what's going on at all times, which can't be said for most action directors these days. So I'm perfectly fine with this announcement, for now.

This news helps me narrow down my viewing schedule. Len Wiseman is sub-mediocrity in the worst sense, ie it's not even so bad it's good, it's just a waste of time. But seriously I think there is hope for Wiseman. Underworld I didn't like but that's partly because I hate both vampires and werewolves. It did have a style to it that was pretty good. Die Hard 4 was far from perfect but I enjoyed it, and some of its epic stunts and carnage are what will be needed for an apocalyptic New York and GOW. Is he the best choice? I'm not saying that he is. But he's not an altogether bad one. Alfonso Cuaron would be an interesting candidate, but realistically he's not going to touch a video game movie or a remake of an 80's film. Zack Snyder would be another good candidate but he's busy with Watchmen. Like him or not, because of the timing and because of his resume' Wiseman just happened to be the best choice at the time.

Fury And His Howling Commandos issues #18 and #19 where Pam Hawley dies and Fury goes to exact his revenge. Yeah, it is a comic book movie.

I think Wiseman would be pretty perfect for a GOW movie. I think his Underworld films show that he'd be a great match for GOW. As for EFNY... I don't know... he showed marked improvement from the Underworld films with LFDH... he could make another leap. Tough to say. BUT BUT BUT BUT and this is a really important factor here... who the hell else is there to direct better action movies that is still interested in making them?

Just because Die Hard is a hit the studios think he's fuckin Zack Snyder and can pick whatever project he wants? Gears has a horrible plot so I suppose he'd be fine with just chainsawing people up with mindless action which is cool, it wouldn't be bad for him, but for god sake, get better CGI in your films! As for Escape, he's too much of an idiot to be able to handle that properly.

Live Free or Die Hard had some fresh action. I hated the Underworld movies but I was surprised by this as someone who didn't really care for Wiseman and a fan of the older movies.

The action in that movie was better than the action in that John Hughes knock off with the giant robots that had about 45 minutes of action and over 100 minutes of garbage & GM advertising.

Only The Bourne Ultimatum topped DH 4 this summer as far as action. So I'm down with the Gears of War thing, don't really care for another John Carpenter movie remake either way though.

Wiseman is a lucky lucky man.

His career is on the up and up and despite what Merrick the half-wit says, he IS a good visual artist. Sure, Underworld was underwhelming, but the sequel surprised me by being a far superior sequel with great action. And I really, really dug DH4. But he's also married to the gorgeous Kate Beckinsale, so you gotta hand it to the guy. He's one lucky fella.

didn't totally fuck up Die Hard, although I thought the finale was pretty weak. When will Hollywood learn though...has there been a good movie at all made from a video game? And NO, as a movie that made sense Silent Hill doesn't count. Sure it was atmospheric and creepy, but as a movie it sucked. Doom had as much if not more potential than this, and look at that crapfest. And if New York must be remade, I was holding out for the guy who directed The Nest. As least he's got some visual style.

I enjoyed the Underworld movies. Yeah, they're not to deep, but they are stylish and fun. I can't speak for the latest Die Hard since I haven't seen it and frankly don't care to. I mean, let's keep it real folks, there's never been anything too intellectual about what has been essentially an action film formula. The first Die Hard is good, but little more than an a lot of shooting and blowing stuff up. The second was the same movie in an airport. And the third was just Dirty Harry wrapped in a Die Hard package. So I'm not sure what everyone expected from another one. Cut Wiseman some slack. He's young and can still grow as a filmmaker. There's definitely potential there.

terrible script with plot holes so fuckin huge you can't even try to pretend you haven't noticed them, lame attempts at humor that reminded me of Lethal Weapon 3, no tension whatsoever, an awful bad guy, chopped up editing and these FUCKING BLUE FILTERS. Of course there's John MaFUCKINGClane and a couple of nice moneyshots, but it doesn't redeem the movie for being a self-indulgent mess that starts "gritty" (well, by PG-13 standards) and ends up goofy (the last action scene negates EVERYTHING that precedes: same that DHWAV, except that that one was clever, suspenseful and SamJackson-ish).

I don't care about GoW (like someone said earlier it's a decent game because of the looks and some nice gamplay: not really screaming "GOOD MOVIE MATERIAL" like other worthy games) but the good EFNY script review made this project intriguing. Well, not anymore.

If New Line say 'yes' to this they are carving the letters into the tombstone of the movie. Wiseman sucks balls. He's a good 2nd unit director - the actions great but everything else is a sack of shit. EFNY should be in the hands of a filmmaker like David Fincher - I'd pay to see that.

but when he fails, he falls flat on his face. Escape From L.A., Vampires, Ghosts of Mars? There was very little (if anything) interesting about those films. That said, I would still like to see a 50 something Kurt Russell take on Snake one more time. And don't get me wrong from my earlier comment about Wiseman. see these awful fucking genre films when they hit theaters? When a shit director does something you know will be awful, like let's say the next Die Hard movie, you vote the only way you can, with your wallet and online hype. Leading up to the film dont make bullshit justifications and tepid praises about how it could be "ok" or "the action might be watchable" or "I like Vampires so I liked Underworld." and then see it in theaters when you know damn well its going to be garbage. But nope, the film was a minor hit and now this fucking hack gets to make not one but TWO film projects that in the right hands might have worked. Ok well EFNY wont work in principle alone but you know what I mean. So let's cut this shit out and stop going to see these shit films by these know nothing loser directors and then tear them to shreds rather than make excuses and apologize for them when they come out and maybe we'll actually accomplish something. die hard 4 was the best action movie of the summer. tho im sure Bourne 3 will change that today. Pirates 3 sucked. Spidey 3 = eh. Fantastic Four was so bad I got a headache. And Transformers was just cheesy with really lazy action sequences. Despite problems, Die Hard 4 was fun. And Gears of War is basically a genre knockoff of action movies, so, who knows. Could be fine. Len did a decent job with Die Hard 4, and I never cared for the Underworld flicks but they weren't TERRIBLE.

This is exactly the type of director who shouldn't be within a mile of an Escape From New York remake. His movies look waaaay to slick for a movie that should have some serious grit to it. An EFNY should have the feel and darkness of a Batman Begins and not the fake looking darkness and phony look of Underworld and Live Free Die Hard. I don't want to see Snake Plisken fight some Euro Trash metrosexual looking villain. This is so wrong on so many levels but I knew he was going to get a few too many opportunities after the success of LFDH. LFDH was not a Die Hard movie and I doubt that Snake will be the Snake we all know under Wisemans direction.
Wiseman > WankShit Anderson > Boll

So for me it's kinda good news.

LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD was the best summer sequel so far (Bourne still to come) and it wasn't any weaker/dumber/overblown than DIE HARD 2 or WAV. It surely wasn't anywhere near the original DIE HARD but nobody could honestly expect that. UNDERWURLDE 1+2 were crap, though.

GEARS OF WAR is a nice but highly overrated action game with zero story, so what will the movie conversion be like regardless which director will do it...

ESCAPE FROM NY remake? Nice. Hopefully it'll be better than the graying 80s version.

LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD was fine except for the jet scene
by SpyGuy
Aug 3rd, 2007
03:46:21 PM
The pacing moved along nicely and was a decent outing for John McMrClean...er, McClane. The only thing that didn't work was the nonsensical truck vs. jet freeway battle, which came off as a completely unnecessary way to blow the film budget.

As for an ESCAPE FOR NEW YORK remake, Wiseman may be a good pick if the studio feels they just HAVE to do it. His films have a slightly cheesy factor to them the same way John Carpenter's films do and they certainly aren't destined to win any Academy Awards any time soon. If nothing else, a Wiseman EFNY remake should be better than ESCAPE FROM L.A....

Mr Beckinsale directing EFNY. First: this movie has no business to be remade, unless BOTH script and director are top notch. Which leads me to my second point: even if some were "pleasantly surprised" by LFoDH (that's what happens when you lower your expectations under the sea level) Wiseman is the prototype of the neutered, metrosexual yes man. He couldn't even fake rebellion and anti-conformism to save his life.

Considering that the original EFNY is the ultimate "Fuck You Attitude" flick (along with Alex Cox and Tsukamoto films) he's nothing but a bad choice. I'm pretty sure the factors for his hiring are:

1/ the unholy success of LFoDH and

2/ some New Line exec watched the original EFNY for the first time last week and noticed the shattering similitudes between Carpenter's direction and Wiseman's: 7000 blue-filtered shots can't be wrong.

the thing about articles appearing on AICN, several days, sometimes over a week after the stories broke on other websites. It's no longer NEWS if old information, I think it's fairly weak sauce journalism, to write an article about someone else's article, what happened to the old underground journalism AICN used to have..... Oh yeah, AICN is basically advertising space for the production companies, if you need any evidence, I point you towards the rampant advertisments in the form of banners, i.e. figurines from the show prison break? are you fucking kidding me, prison break figures,

It seems to me that some people are getting paid to write good reviews of bad movies, and paid to advertise really bad products. Now I understand that AICN has become a profitable business, but I think that it's coasting by at the moment, and the momentum it built up from back in the day, and I believe it's possible, the site could keep going on this momentum, but it could also slow down and come to a complete halt. I think an updated look is definately needed, maybe tabbed pages for the talkbacks, maybe an edit feature. Maybe some contests to win some DVD's. I dunno, I'm frusterated, I'm sorry

payig the fuck attention in LFODH. I don't get what people really expected from the Underworld films, they're pretty damn entertaining. LFODH still pisses me off for its pussying out and going all PG-13 on us. But Gears of War sounds like a cool project for Wiseman. He can film action and he doesn't shy away from the gore. Which is what Gears of War needs. No, the real griping here is that Wiseman needs to stay the fuck away from the Escape from New York remake.

because in order to achieve that particular rating for LFODH a ton of editing had to be done. It makes me sad that Hollywood is so hungry to buy up all these great properties - just to hand them off to flavor of the month "directors" like Len Wiseman. No doubt, the guy is very cool and very imaginative. He just doesn't have the raw talent to pull off the epic movie -- and I doubt he ever will. It's like they say - either you got it...or you don't. He should probably just stay home and fuck his piece of ass wife.

My comment was more for the crowd bitching about a pg-13 rating than your particular post SM..it just makes no sense to blame a guy who is hired to make a film for the eventual rating..just like a grip he is an employee and if you put up 140 million to make a pic that group calls the shots..shit a lot of the times the editor etc..isn't even down with the director anyway..these are hired crews paid to deliver a product..for people to bag Wiseman for the rating is fucked..I am sure he would have loved to give you Yippee Ki Yay Motherfucker but that decision is not his to make.

Live Free or Die Hard

why was it rated PG-13, and also, apparently the word "Fuck" is allowed to be used under certain guidelines in a PG-13 movie.

If a film uses "one of the harsher sexually derived words" (such as fuck) one to three times, it is routine today for the film to receive a PG-13 rating, provided that the word is used as an expletive and not with a sexual meaning (this was mentioned in Be Cool, when Chili Palmer complains about the movie industry. Fuck is said twice in that scene with a lot of other uses of language, giving the movie a PG-13). An example of a film that might suggest this criteria is Waiting for Guffman, which contains mostly PG-13 (some could even argue PG) content, yet is rated R (brief strong language) because a man auditioning for a role uses fuck while quoting Raging Bull (the only time it is spoken in the movie), in a sexual sense. Exceptions may be allowed, "by a special vote of the ratings board" where the board feels such an exception would better reflect the sensibilities of American parents.

no Carpenter but I liked DH4 way more than the other bloated summer movies like Spidey 3 and Transformers. Sure the villain was weak, a major no-no in the DH franchise considering they've had Rickman and Irons foil McClane, but on the whole, it delivered some visceral thrills. Loved the threatening presidential montage and Justin Long was a pretty good addition too. The stuff with Lucy just didn't work, but I feel like the studio's more to blame for that decision, not Wiseman.

when a director signs for a movie he endorses all of it: the good AND the bad. The movie he signed for wad PG-13 from the start, and had the "daughter-in-distress" silly subplot in it too. He chose to sign for it, hence he's responsible. Studios are evil (especially Fox) but this kind of de-responsabilisation (does that word exist? Now it does!) is bullshit. If the movie fails or succeeds it's his fault, period. He knew from the start, he could've said no. But he signed and shot the damn script, so he's in charge. People need to stop blaming studios when the faults are equally divided between Rothman (that man is a demon. Really) the screenwriters (they got paid for that POS?) and the director who puts his name on it eventually. It doesn't mean he's an auteur, just another yes-man.

the question is, how could Wiseman take such a cool concept (Romeo and Juliet with VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES) and make it as boring as Underworld turned out to be? as that one guy said in that one thing I saw, "the mind boggles." still never saw Live Free or Die Hard but I heard it was really good. who knows? but yeah, is Escape From New York REALLY as great and awesome as you kids make it out to be? dh4 sucked, try watching it a 2nd time. its lame, the bad guy sucked, the action was ok but the inbetween stuff was stupid and theyre were no real cool other characters, and it was pg13. face it. i waited 13 years for nothing. plus the bruce willis's whole daughter and sidekick boy's been done in armageddon. the movie stunk and i'm sad. i don't blame wiseman for all this, but still he should have known better, and so should willis, and so should mcteirnan who produced it i think. underworld 1, i never saw 2, was so boring and stylish, a waste of the whole vampire vs wearwolves idea, almost makes howling 5 seem better than it was. werewolves fight vampires and they use guns?? come on. i can't believe anyone would defend this movie. lens wiseman can have a super hot wife but he'll never have my respect. i'm betting these guys all know that the worlds deffinately coming to an end and know the exact date and have decided to just make as much money they can possibly make producing hig grossing junk so they can live comfortably til then. as for escape from la, it had shitty fx, but it had great side characters, can't beat steve buschemi, bruce campbell, pam grier etc. and a great ending. it was cheesy but charming and fun.

WESLEY SNIPES FOR DUKE OF NEW YORK
by Vern
Aug 3rd, 2007
11:23:30 PM
Sorry for the all caps but I felt it was necessary to overpower the sting of Snipes's current legal troubles. I was discussing this remake with a buddy of mine, the Michael Bay fan referred to in my TRANSFORMERS review, and I was wondering who they could get to play the Duke when he dropped that idea on me. I think it's brilliant. He was saying how Isaac Hayes was a great villain because he's the bad guy but he's so cool you like him anyway, even if you want Snake to kill him. And I think Wesley fits the bill for that. Think of Nino Brown in NEW JACK CITY. Wesley can play the cool part in his sleep, he can also do any more difficult acting if required, in fact they could even make the Duke fight if they wanted to due to his capoeria skills.

Wiseman, you won me over with LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. But you owe me for putting Kevin Smith in that shit. So think about it bud. You know it's the right thing to do.

Look man I love ya, every sentient being who frequents this site owes you huge for that Transformers review, but enough is enough with the Wiseman loving. The Underworld movies are atrocious. How one could make a werewolf vs. vampire movie that bad and uncool, when he even got to write the script, is totally beyond me. And in your Die Hard review you sound like you had a good time but is that grounds for giving the guy a free ticket until he gets the opportunity to ruin something else? WHich you and I both know he will inevitably do. If youa re that gaga over the action in the film is just because your faculties have been sliced away by years of god awful directors like Michael bay ruling the action landscape. The movie was a bastardization of Die Hard. Period. It might be watchable if you can disassociate the film from the franchise, but even then only on a purely "lesser of many evils" level. We really should not be giving this guy such undue credit, especially a smart fella like yourself.

Summers said something like, "oh I love the universal monsters and I wanted to take them to the next level with the new technology." But Underworld, a movie that I thought was a clinic on style over substance, was... well, about a hundred times better than Escape From L.A. If we were talking about a Big Trouble In Little China remake, I would be up in arms, but - we're not. And I don't understand all the hate for Underworld 2. THAT was a good action movie. I dare anyone to watch that movie and play through Gears of War and tell me he's not perfect for it. If you want to bitch and cry about the EFNY debacle, go for it, but remember that that's a remake that shouldn't exist and isn't "his fault." Half the time directors get ripped apart for their films, it's unjust. Take a step back, look at the STORY you're watching. If the story sucks, you're not gonna get much excitement, are you? If the director didn't write it... can he really be to blame? I can appreciate Underworld for its visual style, but beyond that, it was a horribly written story with too many "insert action sequence with characters we don't care about here" moments. U2 on the other hand? Very well done. Not many fringe characters that we didn't give a shit about. Case in point, what happens not long into the movie? The euro-douche from the first one gets killed. It was like they tapped and said "we get it, secondary characters be damned this time, it's about the mains." I'm telling you, he's gonna knock GoW out of the park. EFNY is another story, but you know what? Fuck EFNY. Another useless remake. Try remaking something that SHOULD be remade. And this guy is no Uwe or W.S., sorry. He actually has a good eye for action.

I'm not usually against remakes, and I'm not totally against this one, but it does mean a third Carpenter/Russell Snake Plissken adventure is almost certainly never going to happen. That is a real shame, I think.

I rewatched NY and LA as a special 'I have no life' double bill the other week, and I still enjoyed them both. LA is very underrated and easily the funniest of the two, but NY is obviously the best. Once I got to the end of LA, it hit me how much I'd love to see Russell play that role one more time.

That looks more and more like a pipe dream, though. Oh, well. Maybe this remake will be good. I mean, it's from the guy who gave us Underworld Evolution and a cartoon version of Die Hard, right? What could possibly go wrong?

Are movies art? I think acting is a craft as you are taking someone's words and speaking them and emoting under direction. Just a thought and curious about what others think ,in a constructive way, not just typical board answers.

Art and Craft go hand in hand. Making a painting is as much art as it is a craft, so is carving a table and writing a book.

that most good directors begin their career with making one or more good movies movies and then maybe at some point makes one or more bad ones? Len Wiseman began with making shit, continued to make (gunshot) shit, and will probably always make shit. So stop it with the "He could go on to become a decent film maker"... shit.

agreed. he's worse than Renny Harlin. Renny has always made shit, but somehow some way he managed to actually make Long Kiss Goodnight. That's his one redeeming movie that sets him above Len Wiseman/Paul WS Anderson/Tim Story standard. None of these guys understand storytelling.

Northlander, as they by definition mean the same thing I see what you mean ,but I'm talking about acting I guess. Is it art? On topic I kinda like a bit of mindless entertainment. As with all all things if you dont like his movies pay him no mind and find something you do like.

The Underworld movies were fun. Not high art, but fun. He knows how to set-up a good action sequence with some WOW! I think he'd be perfect to direct EFNY...At least with him directing, it'll guarantee that it'll be way more exciting than the original. I said it once and i'll say it again, the problem with John Carpenter is that he has a problem interpreting his own material. He comes up with great ideas and plots, but he seems to have a problem executing them...Now every once in a while he does knock one out of the ballpark, suchas The Thing; In The Mouth of Madness; The made for TV Elvis Biopic w/Kurt Russell, but the rest of his efforts tends to be cold and unemotional.
If Kurt Russell were to reprise (instead of Butler),

then that would mean Len Wiseman would have to rerun his Die Hardly trope of the hero's son going for the teen demographic.

Industry Killer

Hey bud, I actually agree with your talkback other than the part about LIVE FREE being a bastardization of DIE HARD. I think you're reading too much into what I wrote. I still would not consider myself a Len Wiseman fan. The first UNDERWORLD was okay I guess but the second one drove me fuckin nuts with all its people standing around talking about what other people did hundreds of years ago. That was just bad storytelling.

But yes, I gained some respect for him for LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD because, while it is obviously flawed what with the Kevin Smith cameo and the PG-13 and what not, I did enjoy it. For that reason the idea of him directing ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK is almost a relief because I was expecting them to hire somebody much more terrible. At least this guy I know has some skills at action scenes and some respect for '80s tough guy icons. But I'm just saying he's not the worst choice, I'm not saying he's ideal. They shouldn't do this movie unless they could get a real visionary who would add new dimension to the story. (Paul Verhoeven is probaly busy pitching TRANSFORMERS 2 though.)

Honestly, I think the story of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK is good material for a remake, and it's not one of Carpenter's more political movies, so there's room to add more substance to it instead of take it away. But the problem is Snake Plissken and the fact that he IS Kurt Russell. When they remade YOJIMBO as FISTFUL OF DOLLARS they somehow found a badass who was almost as good as the original. But Gerald Butler is no Clint Eastwood, I'm not sure it could work. And more importantly I was still holding out hope for a return of the real Snake Plissken until I heard they were making this. Jesus man, imagine *old* Snake Plissken! Get Stallone to direct and call it SNAKE PLISSKEN. (just kidding.) Maybe the only chance we have of the real Snake returning is if the remake fails and everybody forgets it right away and they wait another ten years. Or I guess two judging by modern attention spans.

I don't think we're on opposite sides here bud, I'm just not as hardline as you are. I am more of an industry ball-puncher, not as much of an industry killer. Maybe a stabber but the wounds are not fatal.

Will be played by Taye Diggs if Wiseman directs. He is the only black actors close enough to the Euro trash villains he usually employs in his movies. Maybe he could get Will Smith as Snake Plisken so we can finally here Snake tell the Duke" Oh Hell Naaawwww!!!" right before he kicks the dukes ass.
Gerard Butler

I thought he would make a decent Snake but Wiseman will make him look like a pansy. Where the hell are all the hardcore action directors? Enough of that phony quick cut BS already. There has to be someone out there who can direct a balls to the wall action movie. The type of action movie that feels like it has substance to it no matter how ridiculous the premise. Wiseman is not that director.

They should have cast Damon as Plissken If the remakers of EFNY had any brain, they would cast Matt Damon as Plissken, and get Greengrass to direct. Now, that's a remake I would pay to see !

If Wiseman get wiser, he would make sure Butler is dropped right away. Delete those Desert Storm references from the script. Make it Escape from Leningrad, an alternate reality. Get Wing Rhames as the Duke of New York, or Wesley Snipes. Quit the CGI massacre of the imnates, who cares, we wanna see suspense and subversion. Kate Beckinsale as Maggie is sure to be annouced next thought. With Plissken screaming "THIS IS THE USA !".

fuck people who say die hard 4 only had one problem. hacker bad guy was horrible! the entire premise of a hacker badguy is terrible. pg-13 is another problem. also did anyone remember the music? die hard 3 had some bad ass 'jonnie comes marching home' score. ALSO THERE WERE NO FUCKING BOMBS! die hard 1 has the whole roof wired to blow, plus improvised bombs by mcclain. die hard 2 has a church bomb and grenades. die hard 3 is full of bombs. there were NONE in dh4. **************** look at UNDER SEIGE, which is basically a group of guys that take over a battleship and 'hack' the nukes out of it (social engineering with gary busey). damn even dh2 had a hacker badguy (they hacked the airport computers) but they didnt waste time talking about computer shit, they just type-type-type and back to gunfire and grenades.---------------just to keep on thread, no john carpenter movie ever needs to be remaked. gears of war i dunno but len wiseman sucks and underworld is some recycled garbage.------ bring on ESCAPE FROM EARTH with KURT RUSSEL. i hope he escapes to mars and finds it overrun with mars ghosts.....

as a child? I can tell you were at least traumatized by a mother figure in your early life (your handle here is, after all, an acronym for MOM). The Long Kiss Goodnight was one of the few standout examples of fun, action film making from the 90's that still holds up. Of course I'm probably going right over your (probably squarish) head. I mean you do have a thing for redundancy what with your use of "simplistic moronic" and "bullshit shit" in a single sentence.

I don't know who you were even responding to, but since you're clearly mentally handicapped I thought I'd hit you behind the knees and knock you down a peg. I also love how you seem to have learned your spelling from the Hooked On Phonics School of Learning. Realizing that, I can understand why you'd spell comprehension as "compreention".

Unless you were going for some kind of rudimentary Cockney accent. Well, you got the cock part right, and I hope all of your orifices are filled with it. Oozing pustule covered penises in all your idiot holes. Two in the mouth so you'll shut the fuck up.

You guys don't honestly think there's a standard for Die Hard sequels, do you? None of the sequels have been entertaining even on the lowered level of sequel expectations. I'm not sure which one is worse, DH2 for being steadily mediocre and consistantly unoriginal or DH3 for being wildly uneven alternating between great set-ups and terrible pay-offs and WINNER OF THE WORST ENDING TO AN ACTION FILM EVER AWARD (tm). I haven't seen DH4 but it couldn't be worse than those other two sequels.

In fact, DH2 was also brilliant compared to it.

But I don't knw why I'm comparing these, you can't put a movie up against one from another series. Live Free or MI-4 was a complete piece of shit which reminded me more of Lethal Weapon 3 than Die Hard as we know it.
