Woo. (Moriarty, you'd be glad to hear that your reports have an effect. I seriously looking forward to Iron Giant, and the only concievable reason I can think of is your reports. Oh, and thanks for actually reading and replying to talkback, something I wish other contributors would do. Hint hint hint.)

you da man. Man, I love this website! It's done more for movies in the past 3 years than Pauline Kael did in her whole fucking career. Moriarty, if you would like me to forward an e-mail from Guillermo Del Toro (Cronos, Mimic) to you that I received the other day let me know. It gives info on DOMU, HELLBOY, and a small tidbit about GHOST IN THE SHELL. Like I told some other guys, it might be false, but I don't think so. Anyway, thanks for the interviews. You give this fanboy hope.

What kind of dopey press conferene was this anyway? A few lame questions and the stars, with the exception of Catherine Zeta Jones and partially Heather Graham, acting like imbeciles. Yea, the majority of questions sounded dippy, but stars either didn't answer the question or gave an indirect answer. Connery sounds more senile than in the last report..... the best thing about the article is the brief chat with the Farrelly brothers. That is gold. Wonderful catch there.....

I'm still anxiously awaiting "Iron Giant" too -- assuming the Powers That Be don't panic at the last minute and redo the whole thing as a musical called "Rusty, The Happy Giant." See the "Frankenstein" item for further (depressing) info.

Looks as though Iron Giant is going to be over hyped and over praised on this site just as POE was last year. oy.
Outside Providence release date!!!

When is this flick going to be released? I saw a trailer for it last January, presuming that it would be unveiled in March or April, but I haven't pinpointed a definitive release date. The film has some major potential, hopefully Alec Baldwin has recovered from his embarrassing barrage of grade A crap movies. I was also surprised to see that Sean Hatosy (of Faculty fame) has taken the honor of playing the lead role. Despite the fact that I was moderately disappointed with The Faculty, I still thought Hatosy was cool (ditto Hartnett and Wood). I almost bust a gut laughing when I saw the bong scene in the preview, more proof that the Farrelly bros are the real deal. The amount of talented brother director teams (like the Coens and the Wakowskis) are expanding as of late, hopefully we'll be seeing more related duos (two heads are better than one after all). Anyway, does anyone know when this is coming out?

Outside Providence

I'm gald to see that Outside Providence is finally coming out, since they shot it in my hometown in the summer of 1997. I remember reading an interview w/ Alec Baldwin saying he was going to make Mercury Rising after it and Shawn Hatosy hadn't hit puberty yet, so it's been on the shelf for a while. It's based on a book by the same name that one of the Farrely Bros. wrote several years ago, about a blue collar kid( Hatosy) from Providence, RI who gets a scholarship to a prep school in Connecticut, Baldwin plays his dad. It's not the typical Farelly production, the book has some laughs but it's a little more serious than anything anyone's seen by them. Plus, the Bros. Farelly only produced it, Michael Corrente (Federal Hill, American Buffalo) directs it.

Jamie Walters is his name. I remember reading that he considered himself to be a musician foremost - but boy, I haven't heard a thing about him in a million years. That Shout movie was somewhat interesting - I remember watching it with some fascination wondering why John Travolta was in it. Anyway, MORIARTY - as usual, excellent report. How'd you get first row? Excellent Way to stalk the Farrellys as well. I look forward to more, more, more!
Awwww, Moriarty has a crush on Heather Graham!
