The trailer was horrible. Forced. Now some good reviews. Actually, from the un-inspired trailer...I was marking this off my list. Let's hope it's as good as they say.

I was shopping for groceries yesterday and saw an ad for Stardust...on the dividers you to separate your food from the next guy's at checkout. If that's their ad campaign, watch out!
Uh... no.

Why is Robert DeNiro still alive? Damn, I wish he'd just go away already.

Saw this the other day... I liked Matthew Vaughn's LAYER CAKE and I really enjoy the works of Niel Giaman, so I was looking forward to this. Despite a great cast and even some very fun cameos, I have to say I it never came together for me, despite some good individual scenes. The Princess Bride/Shrek "anti fairy tale" comedy is enjoyable though. That said, my GF, not one for SF or fantasy films, loved it?!

With Stardust, Beowulf and Coraline all coming out in the next few months, maybe he'll have enough clout to finally get Good Omens and American Gods made.

I'm sorry but I fucking LOVED this film. I don't get the hate it got. I thought it was one of the most imaginative and entertaining science fiction films of the past decade.

where the hell are the advertisements and trailers for this. I don't feel as though they have made any effort to push this thing out. The only way you would know about this movie is to A. read this site , B. Follow Neil Gaiman, C. come to you in a dream.

Why doesn't anybody mention him in their reviews. Because in all honesty he's my first and foremost reason for seeing this picture.

Never heard of him. But other than that, this looks like it could be a great fantasy film. Definitely will pay to see this.
The cast is awful.

What was the director thinking? DeNiro is usually terrible in genre things like this, and Danes is a proven show-killer. The lead actor is totally pallid as well. This looks like a terrible adaptation of a really good book -- much like the upcoming execrable "The Dark is Rising." What is wrong with these people?

YES YOU DO there are probably many things to criticise this movie for but to have a go at the cast without even seeing the film is idiotic

But the more ads I see for this the worse it looks. Each thing I see for this seems to be advertising a different film.

First question, who greenlighted this movie? Answer it had to be a team decision. First its a simplified fairytale. Second Bob Deniro waits too long to get in the movie. Third they wasted 30 million. Fourth the acting sucked. Fifth, they should of had DeNiro really meet M. Phifer. Sixth, the movie sucked. If it wasn't for me thinking I lost something, Damm cannot turn on the phone to find anything on the floor, I would of left. Aint this movie on bittorrent already? Seventh the securityty kept using those night view finders. Was Bin Laden in the audience? Eight, the screenplay sucked. Nine, well the typical hollywood ending. Ten, the whole wall thing SUCKED. Eleven, I would have asked for a refund, if it wasn't a free movie preview. Twelve, the next time De Niro wants to combine his Analyze this, Good Fellas persona with lets say Mork meets Mindy in drag. Don't do it as Joe Pesci would say.
Ugh, I liked it way better than Pan's Labyrinth

Sorry, that movie was too gruesome and repugnant for me. It really was the cat's meow to some people, but I found it utterly dispicable. To each his own. Stardust on the other had was loads of charm and fun. I wish it was doing better in the box office, it deserves a better reception that it seems to be getting. Sadly some movies I shall not name that were absolute crap will probably have better Box Office this year than Stardust. Damn shame, but thank god for DVD.
