After the massively overrated Requiem For a Dream and a plethora of other "Drugs are bad, mmmkay?" movies, I was wary of watching this one, even though I really liked Farmiga in Iron Jawed Angels and Running Scared. But damn, it was an intense movie. Vera Farmiga single-handedly took what could have been a Lifetime movie of the week and made it real. Not "Movie real" but "real real". She is phenomonal. SHe could star as the token girlfriend in Ghost Rider 2 and I would pay to see it.

don't you feel stupid saying that, everytime someone mentions a performance as 'brave' and 'fearless' it always brings me back to reality where I remember it's acting and movies, nothing special and just empty. That these people live in their own little worlds. I think nuclear physicists and brain surgeons do something a little more profound than brave and fearless performances. Ahhhh AICN and film geeks. STARSCREAM!
