It's official, I hyped Deathly Hallows too much

Now I can't wait for the 21st... it happens every year a Potter book comes out. I was in 5th grade when the first book came out. I read it and have been hooked for the last 10 years. I'm going to be a sophomore in college this year when I finish the series, and I hate to see it end.

It's great that he's a fan of the books first... it must be great to read The Cave sequence and be able to say "That's going to be badass to film". By the way, embargoes are lame.

I'm getting mixed signals on this one. There are vocal talkbackers who hate the dirty joke question, but most of the time the feedback I get on it is positive. So, do you want it or not? Let me know below. Yay or nay on the dirty joke. I can't promise I'll be swayed either way, but I'd definitely like to know what you guys want. Like I said above, the feedback is mixed, so I'd like to know one way or the other. Let me know.

Nice too see that A list stars can be brought back down to our level with a nice bit of filth.... very good interview by the way...

I really hope he is a success after Potter, he was brilliant in Extras and was in a stage play where he was erotically involved with a horse...the lad has tried his hand at bettering his acting and deserves a chance to lose the Potter tag after he finishes number 7..get him into another franchise like Harrison did with Indy...Myers did with Austin Powers....the lad seems genuinely nice and good natured and hopefully he will get a go at Hermione in the last film,,,go on JK give the fans what they want

But as a reader I don't really care either way. And what's that bit about being unable to orchestrate a plane in tha background? I'm not one to usually ask for CGI but a plane in the background seems like a pretty simple trick by today's (and these movie's) standards.

gotta say, that scene reminds me of another scene from a famous fantasy series with dead people under the water. And I don't mean POTC3. And I've already forgotten who Horace Slugwort is. I love the books while I'm reading them, but I'll be damned if I can remember a single detail after I'm done.

and that dirty joke thing is ok - reminds me of James Lipton's 'favorite curse word' question on Inside the Actor's Studio. It's always surprising when someone doesn't say fuck.

Actors always have a "face" for interviews. They praise the director, the script, the fans. They say the cast are like a "family" and all that stuff.

But this question cuts through the crap, and for a second you see them as real human beings. Bawdy. Who'll laugh at a dirty joke with their friends.

And yeah, the joke they choose tells a lot about the person.

Why not just make it a joke, any joke. My favourite joke- old but good... It's Christmas and Darth Vader walks into a bar where Luke Skywalker is having a drink. Walks over to him and in says, "Luke, I know what you are getting for Christmas." Luke is shocked and can't believe it. In amazement he replies, "How do you know?" Vader says, "I have felt your presence"... HAHA! geddit? presence/presents...homophone action. better spoken than written.

I've been coming here since before you started posting Quint...I've always thought that it gave your interviews a nifty defining characteristic. And it is fun to see the subjects squirm (or not)...more fun than the actual joke usually...but occasionally a funny one slips through as well. keep it! great read as well but one thing I thought was a bit weird was this:

There was actually a moment on the third film where Alfonso (Cuaron) thought it would be amazing if we had a plane going by in the background. But, of course, we can’t really orchestrate that...

I mean, in a multi-multi-multi-million dollar film like Potter, heavy loathed with the biggest and most expensive special effects they couldn't orchestrate a plane coming by? Well a real would be maybe a bit to much trouble with the timing but I'm pretty sure the FX-guru's can manage to put a realistic looking plane up in the background ey :)

by Quint

First time I asked it was Elijah Wood... summer of 1998. Lipton asks for favorite curse words, "if heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates," etc. To my knowledge I didn't take the question from anywhere. I was young, 17 I think... Elijah was my same age. I heard a good joke and thought it'd be funny to trade them in the interview. That's how it started.

Thanks for the voting. I'm sure we'll be seeing many more dirty jokes in the years to come.

I love the idea of collecting jokes from different celebrities, but I think it would be more fun to just ask them a favorite joke, and tell them they have the freedom to say anything - those who want to tell a dirty joke can tell one. Those who want to tell a favorite clean joke can tell one. It will be a much better indicator of the personality of the celebrity what KIND of joke they tell as much as the content of the actual joke.

I love how Quint feels like he has to keep reminding Radcliff that he is in fact, a geek. I mean every other effing word is geek this geek that, we get it Quint, you're a geek. So am I for that matter, but I don't feel the need to shove it down peoples throats. If anything saying that your a geek makes you less of a geek. New article on mtv.com about cast member's theories for book 7: Radcliffe: "One of my theories is stolen from someone else. He thought Snape is going to turn out to be the tragic hero, and I thought that was a really good idea. I think J.K. Rowling would have possibly gone down that route — but possibly he is pure evil, and we'll all just find out."
