Shia's sort of good yet kind of average, in my opinion. He carries roles pretty well but he never really grabs my attention. He's just sort of there... unobtrusive, doing his thing, but never breaking down my doors. Maybe that's just me. I've seen several young actors with far better chops than Shia, but I guess Steven Spielberg doesn't love them like his own son. Shia seems like a good guy and a fairly talented actor, but the over the top acclaim he's suddenly receiving isn't really warranted. Maybe he'll surprise me in his next film.
