Napoleon Dynamite sucked. I was hoping this movie was going to be about an actual eagle versus a shark.

I thought this might be one of those super-zoom-attack close up Kung Fu movies but the Conchord guys are quite hilarious (dry humor at its best). Here's to hoping all the Sopranos negativity doesn't kill 'John from Cincinnati' and 'Flight of the Conchord' as I like em both!

I'll see this film just because of the Justice / Justin joke. Oh, and Wonka - I was most disappointed in you ignoring the taunts of lost.rules in that Simpsons talkback. That was fun while it lasted.
loved it

I could not agree more with this review, I saw it at the Cleveland International Film fest in march, and I loved it!! It is just as you said, funny, awkward, and very entertaining!

...was how tiresome "indie" films have become. Sadly, the only plot "indie" films with a relatively wide release seem to have are of geeky, awkward people finding love. If this is all independent cinema can seem to muster, then bring on the exploding robots and leave it at that. "Indie" film is on some serious life support and going fast.

It had some funny parts, but then there was some stuff where they were just trying way too hard to be funny. The whole thing where he was trying to feed the casserolle to the llama wasn't really that funny the first time...or the subsequent times he did it.

Napoleon Dynamite wasn't my thing. Yeah yeah, I know it was really "random" and "irreverent", but really, the movie was just about laughing at the goofy semi-retarded kid. The only part I found funny was that shitty instructional dance tape. For some reason, that really tickled my fancy. That, and the fact that I had that same fucking binder that Napoleon had when I was little. Craziness.
