I feel sorry for any of the cast members (I'm guessing Peter and Hiro) who have to do the whole thing.

also glad to hear that they aren't doing the Origin's thing in the middle and splitting the season. I don't know what moron exec thought that spiltting a season in 2 halves would work...coke adled idoit.

Shame that they are taking any breaks, I think hero's works best one right after another. Unless they aren't going to be doing a big season long arc this year, they need it back to back to back. Is LOST the only show that knows how to do a serial? Espically now that there are NO breaks in LOST's schedule..

Figured I'd put that out there right away. And I think it could only build up the HEROES fan-base by having actors like Quinto do other big genre stuff like STAR TREK. A bit off topic, I know. Anyway, very much looking forward to Season Two of Heroes, as well as the DVD, Commentaries, etc.
Origins AFTER Season 2?

I thought Origins was supposed to air BEFORE season 2 to give us a taste of Heroes during the long wait. Well THAT just plain sucks. I think putting Origins on during the "breaks" isn't a bad idea. I HATE those long ass breaks for no reason other than sweeps. Take a cue from 24, NON-STOP episodes!!!!

and grow their breasts out, then freak out over being seen as sexually attractive and try to recapture their pre-puberty innocence by dropping a lot of weight. It happened to Lohan, it happened to Christina Ricci. It's not limited to teens - it happened to Portia DeRossi. Girls find out their 'sexy', freak out and try to lose their sex appeal. This must be especially had if the girl in question if 1.) on the TV 2.) growing up in public 3.) getting her every paparazzi photo plastered all over the innernets 4.) the sex object of an army of sci-fi and comics fan geeks 5.) getting called chunky, chubby or baby-fat in the tabloids 6.) trying to launch a pop recording career for a label that keeps postponing your release date 7.) based on every candid pic of her I've seen, have awful taste in clothes and 8.) based on every talk show interview I've seen, aren't that bright to begin with.

With all that to deal with, is it any wonder she opts to live on cafeine and salads for a while?

I though the Heroes:Origins was going to air when Heroes went into reruns. Now not only will it not, but Heroes will have a shorter season to make room for it? AND Heroes will still go into reruns during the season? Crap, I knew the first plan sounded too good to be true. *************************** So they are going make the Cheerleader anorexic like the rest of the actresses in Hollywood. God, our society is digusting like that. I appreciated that Claire WASN'T so skinny. She looked normal. Not to be, I see. Also, Peter without bangs? Oh jeez, the ratings will plummet faster than Felicity post-haircut.

is if this second season's new characters all turn out to be bad at the end, and all along kring had been showing us how the good justice league analogy meets up in the first season-- then takes season 2 to show us how their team of arch nemeses meets each other. season 3, they all codify their alliances and start the ass kickery.

a p.s.a. can dream...it is just a damn shame they couldn't deliver ass kickery all the way through the first season, makes me pretty fucking doubtful they will be able to do so in the 2nd season either.

It's lead villain is bland and unmemeorable. The plot makes very little sense. It's largely humorless (except for Hiro). The only thing that saves it is an array of charismatic characters...but there are just as many who induce groans... I would be surprised to see this show have a third season.

On the one hand, if any genre is going to get over-hyped, I'm glad it's sci-fi related and I hope better shows get this kind of treatment in the future. But truly, "Heroes" is unworthy of all this. It's certainly not a bad show by any stretch, but it's really not THAT good of a show.

They are not producing less episodes this season, they are just ending it earlier, meaning that there will be less re-runs and breaks during the season.

My God, for a bunch of nerds some of you guys are really, REALLY dumb.

As for the finale, it was dissapoinintg, but not really crap, just not the money shot we all dreamed up in our little geek heads. Come on guys, it was season 1. Try watching the first seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, its truly painfull.

As more talented writers get drawn to the show, and actors begin to get comfortable in their characters the show will just get better and better. Look for a better season 2 and by season 3, a finale that makes you cream your jeans.

That being said they should have killed of Ando, much as I love the character, actually BECAUSE I love the character, then have Hiro flip out and, using a mixture of his newly honed sword skills and slowing of time, go Flash Ninja on Sylar's happy ass. The fact that Syalr didn't even defend himself was pretty damn lame.

Finally, know that Sylar CAN NOT negate Hiro's powers. Hiro was to distracted by the moral implications of the task at hand, and lost his concentration. Know about it.

Yes, it could be better and yes, the Season 1 finale was disappointing. BUT...it could be hell of a lot worse (I'm looking at you, SMALLVILLE episodes where Lana has powers!) and it's better than most of the crap the networks are spewing out these days. Just enjoy it for what it is, be grateful for what it isn't, and ignore everything else.
Nothing this summer then?
by _Maltheus_
Jun 22nd, 2007
11:52:21 AM

Yeah, I too thought we were getting origins this summer. Oh well. Sounds like they're doing good with the new schedule. I actually prefer a mid season break to a full run. It's either that or a huge break. The only thing I don't really like is more than one break per season. Like season 2 of Lost had the worst scheduling of any show ever (show an ep, take a two week break, rinse repeat). I think this'll work out real nice for Heroes.

As for Clairbear, we all loved her as is. That being said though, I loved her as is and it was clear that she was on the road to obesity. Not that she would get there working in Hollywood, but someone from a small town looking like her would be fairly huge by the time she hit 25. And god help her if she ever gets pregnant, that would probably be the end to her body. At that young age, it's the boring sticks that grow up to be hot. And the hot chicks grow up to be fat. So I don't mind her losing weight, as long as she doesn't go overboard like so many actresses do. It's all about maintaining the high hip-to-waist ratio.

The Finale
by _Maltheus_
Jun 22nd, 2007
12:15:44 PM
I was disappointed with the finale like everyone else, but it wasn't that bad. A decent fight between Peter and Sylar was all they needed and most people wouldn't have had a problem with it. What's more, this has been a horrible 2007 for season finales. Rome aside (Dexter and Weeds were 2006), I think Heroes had the best finale. Not because it was so good, but because it wasn't so unbelievably bad like all the other geek shows. And I know there are people who think those other unbelievably bad finales (I'm thinking of three shows that I won't mention) were genius, but they really weren't. They all lacked substance in favor or some kind of twist. Kring has proven himself to be conscious of internet opinion so I'm fairly confident he won't make that mistake again. The season 2 finale will kick ass or I'll eat my hat.

01:21:52 PM
dude the finale was no way was the best finale. Well for me anyways, lost or greys was best... The amazing build up to the finale was destroyed because of sloppy writing. The weak fight was one thing but the damn plot holes is what really ruined it for me...i won't go through the plot holes or contradictions again because i'm sure it's been covered in talkbacks from this site and discussion in other forums. Its like the writers didn't think about the characters' powers thoroughly or weren't able due to time constraints.

Linderman
by _Maltheus_
Jun 22nd, 2007
04:17:41 PM
I see your guys point on the Linderman thing. I guess I wasn't too disappointed with that aspect at the time cause I figured they'd never be able to keep Malcolm McDowell around very long in any case. At the very least, it was a cool death. If DL wants you dead, there really isn't much you can do about it so I didn't think of Linderman as a wuss. He had an interesting story that I wanted to see told, but it does look like we're going to get that in some fashion, what with Sulu and Mama Petrelli. I also wouldn't be surprised if Hiro runs into Linderman again at some time in L's past. Again, I wasn't a huge fan of the finale, I'm just saying that it was more of a disappointment than it was a truly sucky ending. And I haven't seen Grey's, so I can't comment on that finale. But without dredging up the debate again (please), I'll just say that different people saw the Lost finale VERY differently. It's greatness is hardly an objective fact.

I think more people comment on how hot she is than on how fat. If she is reading user comments then she should be flattered. And since when does a teenage girl need to be told she looks fat to actually think it? I think it can all be chalked up to living the L.A. lifestyle. It's kind of hard to fault people at that age for anything though. It's just a wild time. Now Candice, she should have been fat, and that was one of the bigger beefs I had with the finale.

Why does everyone keep saying that its a shorter Season? NBC ordered 24 new ep, Thats a full season. KRing said that volunme 2 will end about 9 episodes in and then Volume 3 will finish of the season
It's a LONGER season
by submarinevoyage
Jun 24th, 2007
01:58:49 AM
Papa Smurf is right; people seem really confused. Most TV seasons are 22 episodes long. Heroes Season 1 had 23 episodes. Heroes Season 2 will be 24 episodes, that will air from the end of September until April with only a couple of minor breaks (around the holidays for instance). Then the week after the 24th and final episode of the Season airs, Heroes: Origins will begin. So that's 30 hours total of Heroes content over the same period of time we had 23 hours of content last season.

why all the Heroes hate?
by zooch
Jun 24th, 2007
02:47:19 PM
the first season is setting up this big origin story. The heroes have not become the bad ass heroes like in the future episode, yet, but they will. This show has so much potential. It's character-driven superhero drama taken seriously. What more could a geek ask for? People were dissapointed because the finale did not have a bigger Peter vs. Sylar fight. CGI Superhero action like in the movies is just not possible on a TV budget. Studio puts that much money in this show and suddenly it gets too expensive and next thing you know the shows cancelled without ever getting a chance.
