Damn. They shouldn't have brought her back. And isn't it pretty cliche that the nerdy outsider would become the worshipped one? Oh well, I'll still watch.

The casting is very good. The characters have a strong likability. The writing does not try to be BSG or Lost and that's a really good thing. It's nice to watch a show where you can just be entertained and the writers and the audience are just along for a fun ride. It's an interesting testament to the show that the mystery of the 4400 isn't all that important. At least to me, I don't watch the show wondering about it.
Did this show get better?

Did this get better after the first episode? I tried to watch it because I love the premise, but the acting was so grating and dialogue so pedestrian, I couldn't make it through. Now commercials are playing for the new season and after Heroes, I'd love another show like that. If it was good.

After last season with their all their bullshit story lines, i could give two squirts about this show... it was good the first season, then they jumped the shark and then some... just cancel this POS like they did with Veronica Mars.

Great, the end with a rip off of a commercial. That evil kid is the one who looks like Jake Lloyd from Star Wars and is just as wooden an actor but is not him, right? Yeah, first he's taking baths with Nicole Kidman, now he commands cheerleaders to sleep with him...this kid lives a charmed life. Yeah, I also wanted a darker ending for him--but to be fair, he commanded his minions to kill for him in the end, so that's pretty evil, don't you think? If he'd gotten any worse, it would have made the world much more antagonistic of this whole magic formula plot. I wonder how long before they change this show's plot again.

The subtext behind Isabelle

I can't believe you all are missing the obvious subtext that Isabelle gave to Tom. The way she said she was "Used". The way she knows what happened. I think all was going as planned in the way of the 4400. Isabelle wasn't made to stop them, she was made to create the shots for Jordan. She was USED for this purpose as she said. My ongoing theory for now is that the 4400 are just people who took promicin in the first place, meaning the whole "crisis event" could be faux.

Wait wait wait... your theory cant work. If the whole thing started because of people who took promicin, how was promicin created in the first place? how could you have promicin-abilities, then want to go back in time to have promicin made? im... confused. I DO think that the "crisis event" isn't what it seems... but time travel tricks are sticky... i would hope they know better than to wrap the show up with slight-of-hand time tricks. thats so cheesy. im thinking that Collier is behind everything though... since when does he have powers? that was lame... unless he took an "antipromicin" drug while the show was off the air... :) lol
Re Spice-Orange and my theory

I think that Isabelle somehow got a clear portrait into the future when her dad shot her up with the Anti-promicin. She really saw that the future had only meant for her to be the thing which would allow them to come forth into this world in the first place.

Think of it this way, through the last three seasons of the 4400, Matthew had told Isabelle that she was special and meant to "Destroy" the 4400. He wasn't telling her the truth. He was simply using this as a means to manipulate her into what she was originally intendend to do, which was join up with Ryland and make the Promicin shots.

During all of this, Dr. Burkeoff was also led to believe that he was special, and was to be the one to "Create" promicin, as he was very much well "respected" in the future. Again this was a ploy by the people of the future who were more then likely promicin users, to get promicin started in the first place.

We all know, Burkeoff did not create promicin, he wasn't even the first person to know about it. The government was. Meanwhile this whole time I believe that collier is the orchestrator perhaps behind the whole 4400 event to begin with. Looking at the vision he had during his sleep, where he took the promicin into him, it looked alot like he was becoming a "Sylar" from heroes type figure. If he absorbed others promicin, would he not inheret their powers as well?

My theory is valid in my opinion due ot the fact that if the 4400 were indeed sent back to stop some sort of catastrophe, then the timeline would change in the future. Meaning that there would never be a need for the 4400 thus causing a paradox. The only logical explination is that it is the 4400 perpatuating their own existance, and perhaps the "catastrophe" is not real, and is only needed for their perpetual survival.

Okay...fine...cool theories...but please, please explain the last shot of the first season's ender. WHY did the trees bow down to Isabel? Some have theorized they were just pulled toward her psychokinetically, but that makes even less sense. Plus, the trees, suddenly sensient, paying their respect to a creature created by the future? THAT would be cool. But nothing has played out that way since then...

'cuz the plot involving the black hoodie loser was stupid, especially the part where everyone apparently ran down to the store and bought their own. More of the naked blonde chick would be ok as long as Jake Lloyd doesn't show up again. Even summer shows have standards.

...of both The Dead Zone and The 4400. I wold ahve loved to watched the previous seasons, much like I did The Closer before it premiered it's new season Monday. As far as the kid playing JJ being replaced, my guess is the kid hit a growing spurt and is no longer fits the role. Too bad, really. I'm surprised at the plot turns in this episode. The deaths of both Janus and Walt? While I'm disappointed by both, I'm not abandoning the show.
