The whole style of writing is to avoid names, descriptions, to show that it could be happening anywhere in the world. They'll probably turn it into some post-apocalyptic hero story.

Hopefully this time Meirelles will tone down his herky-jerky camera/editing style. Ruffalo is a great actor; his performance in You Can Count on Me is just plain brilliant.

Ruffalo was also awesome in Zodiac. I would be worried about the source material getting bastardized if they brought in Paul WS Anderson or Brett Ratner to direct, but Meirelles should be able to handle the story tastefully.

IF this film is properly done, it could very well be one of the creepiest pieces to ever grace the screen. The book is incredible, go get it read it. Imagine everyone on the planet being blind, but a white blindness... total chaos.

it was unquestionably one of the most impressive works of literature i've ever read. right up there with lord of the flies and animal farm for sheer brilliance of depicting the fear of mankind. i have high hopes for mierelles to do a beautiful job and i think we can rest assured that ruffalo and julianne moore can handle it as well.
