By doing it this way, by going out on THEIR terms, they're able to service the story a lot better. Moore said that he was coming into the last chapter anyway. Maybe he could have stretched it out to another 40-odd so episodes, maybe not. But this way, it's going to get told. At least I know I'm going to get an actual conclusion now. Whether or not I like it remains to be seen, but at least I know it's coming.

MNG is correct... this last season needs to get straight to the point. There's no more time for Lost-style flashbacks and boxing matches that get the story nowhere. It would, also, be nice if Apollo would go ahead and finally grow himself a pair.

Ahem, anyway: The scene is ridiculous. No, not because of what Apollo says, or about calling Counsel to the stand. It's the fact that THEY COULDN'T MAINTAIN CONSISTENCY FOR THE ENTIRE SCENE! Or am I the only one still waiting for the prosecuting attorney to get closing remarks?!? They tell her *in the scene* that there will be closing remarks, but then they go off to render a verdict when the scene ends. HELLO?!?

I'm looking forward to it.

The season that brought us Exodus pt2 and that Courtroom scene was also the weakest season. Such a shame. Whenever something hectic comes up now, I always say "Prepare for turbulence!"

"So Say We All"

We find out that Earth is the homeworld and that 6,500 years ago (500 years from now) there was a war that almost destroyed humanity. Following the war, 12 ships (all named after Zodiac signs) left Earth for places unknown, determined to start again, free of war...ultimately they landed on Kobol. For the next 2,000 years, their society grew and expanded, but over time, history began to fade, people began to forget their origins and embrace ancient literature and myth as being their true history, apart from one small group of colonists who knew the truth about their past. Eventually these colonists decided to return to Earth, leaving markers along the way for anyone who wished to follow them home in the future.

On Kobol, those who remained created machines to make their lives easier...but of course the machines turned on them and there was another war, forcing the humans to leave Kobol and head for a solar system that strangley had 12 inhabitable planets wich would ultimately form the 12 colonies.

Anyways, by the time Galactica reaches Earth, they find a world rich in advanced technology, far superior to that of even the Cylons. The Galactica and other colonial ships are considered relics, kinda like finding old stone tools from the stoneage.

In any case, the Earth government offers the colonists sanctuary and sends a message to the Cylons, telling them to turn around and never come back. The Cylons ignore the message and attack Earth, and in a final climactic battle, the Cylon fleet is utterly destroyed. All of the Colonial ships land on Earth, there is a gathering of the colonists and Admiral Adama gives a speech... "We have been through a lot. We have lost many lives, and we shall remember those souls - always. I sat down last night to write this speech and I struggled...I struggled to think of any words that could ever be worthy of this day. We fought for our survival and now we have the chance to begin again. And I realised, I don't need to give a big speech, I don't need to mark the occasion with words that will never live up to the meaning of this day. Because there is really only one thing that needs to be said....Welcome to Earth."

The crowd cheers and the Colonial Anthem (aka Battle Star Galactica theme from the old show) starts to play, as everyone hugs each other, some people laugh, some people cry, and then the camera starts to pull back, up into the sky and out of the atmosphere, eventually stopping, giving us a full and final view of the planet called Earth...fade to black

The End.

I really wanted to see the end to this show, but after that finale, I wasn't going to stick with it unless the next season was it's last. And that's saying a lot since I very rarely give up on a show once I'm into it. I didn't want to miss out on the next Exodus II, but the rest was getting too boring/stupid to sit through. I usually found myself doing something else about halfway through the episodes in season 3.

This show is very erratic, which means as sucky as they ended it, there are likely to be some kick-ass eps next season. Moore simply doesn't have the attention span for a long run. At least now, I can look forward to it some. Lost, on the other hand, with three more season to go is a tougher call for me. I think I only still watch that one for the sake of discussing it with work buddies.

So many cancellations, but at least we got Heroes, Dexter and the Tudors (I like it anyway) new this season. Next season doesn't look as promising. I hope TV executives will start to learn how important it is to have valuable product. I know HBO will learn when the subscription cancellations start rolling in after the Sopranos. Although, the execs will probably just blame it on piracy and get a pass.
