I'm not a Jericho fan, have only watched maybe one and half episodes, but really that was an asine statement, shows that are cancelled deserved to be cancelled? sometimes shows have a hard time finding their auidence, sometimes they need a little more time to be fully devolped. Sometimes they are just too smart or (and I believe this was the case with Andy Barker PI) too nice. Not every show can have a great first Season like LOST had. Lok at the ratings of some classic shows like Sienfiled, which in it's first few seasons had extremly low ratings, but Littlefield belived in it and gave it a chance. TV execs live by the dollar not by the art and very rarely are shows given the chance to succed.

it is funny that people care more about a TV show than they do about world events or even local events. It's a sad state of affairs. That being said, I really hope Jericho comes back. I don't have much hope though, not just because of how narrow-minded network execs are but because everyone on the show has probably been released from their contracts to pursue other shows/movies.

One small problem. CBS doesn't need some middling (actually less-than-middling) cultish show. All of there shows are huge. They have some of the highest rated dramas and the highest rated comedy. Sure, I hate it all and can't remember the last time I watched CBS, but the fact is, they have no need for Jericho. It wasn't popular, it doesn't create any sort of buzz, and it costs a lot. I bet you Kid Nation will do better in the ratings. And the enitre run of Kid Nation probably costs 10 times less than a season of Jericho. It's the nature of TV these days and it's why you are seeing more reality and game shows. They cost nothing. I work in TV. Dramas cost a fortune, tons of people get risiduals (and God do I love them), and every one is union (which I love as well). It won't help CBS one whit to carry this show.

Imagine if ABC dropped LOST right now without answering any of the big questions. To say people would be pissed would be an understatement. Jericho is also a serial drama and alhtough the mystery element isn't quite as deep as Lost's, there are still MANY unanswered questions, and they also ended the season on a massive cliffhanger.

Thousands of tarot cards deluged HBO offices in a matter of days as fans organized en-masse to save their favorite show.. It also got a HUGE amount of coverage by the media. If networks are going to green light a show for half or a whole season always have a plan to end it early so that the viewers don't think they've wasted their time. Day Break needed to get resolved, Nightstalker needed to get finished. Producers, writers, have a plan in place to finish it if the hammer drops. I'll be more apt to put time into something even if it gets cancelled, but has a beginning, a middle and an end. Expect this and write the show accordingly. Good shows too often get canned - even well into their runs and there's never an episode to resolve it/ Network br-asses, think about that too.

As a fan f Jericho, I took it for what it was worth. I enjoyed the story and I watched it ever single week. Knowing I won't be able to see more really sucks. FOr those of you bashing others for wanting to keep it around...how about moving on yourselves? It's so easy to run at the mouth and stand against something, but it takes real courage to stand up for something. With that being said, go complain about something else and allow us Jericho fans to talk about attempts to save the show. Lastly, to those of you who ramble about stopping the war, etc, etc...keep your politics out of a film driven forum. It's tacky and pointless, much like your post.

I think that's the better way of doing it, and it works to everyone's advantage. Fans get their story tied up, questions answered and there is no network tinkering (that always ruins a show) to make it more appealing to the larger public. This should be policy now, I am still waiting to see how (if) Drive, Heist, Studio 60, Smith, Black Donnelys and a whole list of other shows that had loyal followings and a continuing storyline end. The cancellations knowing that they 1) don't give the shows long enough to develop an audience, and 2)that the networks will just abandon the loyal viewers who were into them, it just makes me want to refrain from starting to watch new shows. No wonder the networks audience numbers are shrinking. How about they show some loyalty to us for a change.

Uh, I did mention it was a repost (and I did it once). I was not trying to pass it off as something new. And seeing that I responded so late to the last post I decided to repost it. I am sure many new eyes saw it. But my point remains the same. CBS will not bring this show back. Perhaps you can ask the writers of the show yourself. I have. They are all moving on. Staffing week (for writers in LA) is just about over and they are off getting jobs, not wating around to see if some nuts are going to get them back on the air. It is the nature of the business. We all need to work and keep paying those bills. I guess I will just write off your reponse as jealousy or something? I have no clue why you would get so angry at something like reposting. The show was wildly uneven...but for whatever reason I think most people really started caring about the characters. I know I did. I also don't think the fan push is just for Jericho. Jericho was uneven. It started out sluggish. But once it got going I found it to be the best show on TV. I adore Lost, don't get me wrong, but for some reason Jericho just clicked with me more than Lost ever did. Jericho, more than any other show, seemed to pose mysteries and solve them at the best rate and frequency. I know it was schmaltzy and I can understand why some people thought it was boring but I thought it was the best thing on TV. I also though Firefly and BSG sucked, I always felt like both of those were written by people that had no idea how real people functioned in the world and confused drama for stern looks and shouting.

The flag is the winner of the Design a New Flag Contest for US which was held during the street party. The fake Marines gave their A-OK at the We're Saved! dinner, after which the fireworks display was given. LOL It's funny how all these people crawled out of the woodwork after the show was cancelled, especially here at AICN. got the Variety page too. Gave a lot to charity. Didn't help though. The DVD sales helped and gave us a farewell film. I remember when one of my favorite series ever went off the air, Homicide: Life on the Streets. Sort of cliffhangery with Baliss quitting the force, then the guy he was trying to apprehend ended up with a bullet in his head. It was implied that he did the shooting. However, NBC made a movie wrapping up endings with Bayliss confessing to Frank he did indeed murder the perp. It was one of the best things I ever saw on Television, ever. Sorry, meandered a bit but my point is this: Why don't more studios have wrap up two hour movies anymore? Slap it on to the box set. Who wants to by a box set that ends so abruptly?

OK, so Firefly failed, but you may recall the case of the Roswell High (the 'High' was soon dropped). The show was prety good and when it was cancelled after one season fans deluged the network with bottles of tobasco sauce. I kid you not!!Not sure which Network it was, but it worked!!! The show ran for another 2 seasons. So while you might be discouraged by the cancellations of gems like Firefly, just remember -sometimes, just sometimes, fan campaigns actually work. Good luck. Jericho is a great show.

Michael Ausiello at TVGUIDE.com says that JERICHO is close to return. Midseason for at least 8 episodes. Actors resigning contracts and new soundstage is being acquired. CBS must have planned this all along;)
