Because in Chicago at least, WGN carries the CW when there are no games. Although the Cubs game doesn't start until 9:00 PM CT so I don't know what the deal is.

rename american idol, american loser. not one winner since kelly clarkson has even been deserving of the title or had as much success. the voting scandal this season proves that the system is flawed and people really dont care anymore. the 2nd and 3rd place winners seem to be more talented than the ones that america votes for...either theyre purposely voting for someone retarded or these are the same people that re-elected george w bush....the america voting thing kinda makes the precence of judges a moot point when most of the time they clearly dont like the vote...the show deserves to die gracefully. but dumb mindless americans cant stop watching it...its no wonder that good script based TV shows get cancelled and more of this crap is on the air. how long before the networks are as horrible as mtv and vh1..dumb mindless americans, thats why. another show that is for dumb brainless people is dancing with the (has been) stars. america is getting dumber by the day, i blame oprah LOL
