I'm all for a Terminator show and I love Lena Headly and Summer Glau. I was totally excited for this show when I heard about it, but after seeing those videos, I'm a little disappointed. It kind of looks like a bad Terminator made for tv movie.(Well, it kind of is a made for tv movie) I will give the show a chance and see how original it can be. I know the videos are from the pilot, so hopefully it will get better. It just needs to have more than just a bad terminator show up every week. I pray to god that they prove me wrong and this show kicks ass. I really want it to succeed.

wait, I thought this was supposed to be between T2 and T3. In T3 John said he had not seen a terminator since T2. Plus why would the Terminator keep Sarah alive. This looks like it could be a cool action series. The obvious gimmick to get guys to watch is the chick but she's hot so it doesn't matter. Would Schwarzenneger or Robert Patrick be willing to do a cameo? I think it would be cool if they did an episode where it shows Skynet using Schwarzenneger and Patrick as humans that are picked to be used as the basis for one of the manyT-800 models and the T-1000 prototype. Looking optimistic about this one. Hopefully Fox, Tom Rothman, and Rupert Murdoch don't fuck it all up.

Based on the preview, I'd say the problem with this series is that it is not sustainable because: 1. It's a re-hash of the films - visions of a nuclear holocaust, "come with me if you want to live", boy-next-door John having doubts on his ability to lead, miffed cops on the scene don't know what to make of the Terminator, paranoid Sarah berating John to be careful, etc etc. The problem is we've seen all this before with bigger budgets, better direction, and better actors. The series needs to find entirely new angles within the T-mythology, or it will just seem like watered-down deja vu. 2. The series seems to be structured in a formulaic way that will get old fast. Meaning: terminator comes to harm, another terminator comes to protect. They face off. Protector terminator is eliminated at some point, and Sarah & John fend for themselves. After the terminator is killed, another terminator-of-the-week is sent, probably with another protector to fight him off. And on and on. The folks in the future keep sending terminators to square off. It gets old. Again, I understand that's the central pivot of the mythology, but it has to be more than Terminator of the Week (even if they stretch out terminator participations over several weeks).

This is obviously after T2, but tramples on the continuity of T3. In the movie John said they had been "living off the grid" since T2 without any terminator problems and that Sarah had died a few years prior. So what the hell is going on with this TV show? And ofcourse, it'll be cancelled by Fox before it gets to episode 3 anyway, so who cares? If you want to use 'Terminator' in a good way, why don't you give us what the movies always teased us about: The FUTURE WARS! That is all I wanted to see from 1-3 anyway. The best part of Terminator 3 was that the bombs had finally gone off so T4 had to be in said future wars (now even that sounds like it's not happening properly). BANG!!! Thats the continuity of this series going up in smoke, and I dont see any way around it. Particularly since they clearly time travel at some point in this pilot. WTF??? How the hell do they manage that??? They have the wife of Miles Dyson, who was killed before he could finish off his work on the old T-800 chip. Yet here we have them time travelling in 1998, years and years before the first primitave Terminators are created (from T3). This whole idea is a complete mess, and fans of the movie will no doubt shit kittens at the thought of Terminators that aren't Arnie, and Sarah Connor that isn't Linda Hamilton. This Sarah Connor looks nothing like a world weary, paranoid action bitch with the fate of the world on her shoulders....she looks like a fucking soccer mom. Also, if they time travel, how can the events of T3 possibly take place? Even if he travels back to the same timeline, did he just forget about all the terminators he's battled since the events of T2? AAAAARGGGH!!! It makes me shit white hot bile about how messed up this is. Unless they do the Dallas "It's all a dream" cop out end to the series, then it makes fuck all sense, and could put people off the up-coming trilogy.

who says it tramples the continuity. i would look at it this way, the machines failed in killing connor at the end of t3 so they send a new terminator back to the time period between t2 and t3. as for summer i agree with the idea someone above stated about her possibly being a terminator made in the form of what john connors future daughter would look like. the resistance gets ahold of her and reprograms her. i mean in reallity the end of T2 should have meant john connor was never born since they stopped judgement day. in movies and shows involveing time travel i would think normal continuity rules wouldnt allways be the same

the machines from the future (sky-net) they send a machine back in time to kill the mother of the leader of the future resistance... cool! but the machine fails in his task. So, they send back a machine to kill the leader of the resistance when he is a child... oops! the machine fails again... so the machines send back yet another machine to kill the leader of the resistance when he is in his 20's and his mother is long since dead. They pretty much fail again to kill him... so... why not just go further back into the past? or immediately after a failure? why do they send the machines back every 10 years or so? I mean they have Time Travel for fucks sake. Send back a legion of machines or hell... just use the whole Time Travel thing as the major advantage it is. It never really made much sense to me... case in point check out Back To The Future... they went back and forth to fix this and that for 3 movies and for the most part it made sense. Oh well its just a movie that spawned a great sequel and not-so-good sequel and now a terrible FOX series that will go down faster than a drunk slut at a Motley Crue concert.

....the actors playing Sarah Connor and the bad Terminator HAVE GOT TO GO!!! Well, I assume they do screen tests for all TV shows, right? Maybe, the "good stuff" is yet to come. Sarah Connor might be OK in time BUT RECAST THAT DAMN TERMINATOR!!! DAMMIT, CAST ROBERT PATRICK!!! FYI: Miles Dyson's wife did not die. T2 shows the T-1000 walking through the Dyson house while John, Sarah, T-800 and Miles are over at Cyberdyne. The movie does't show the T-1000 killing Dyson's family - they don't seem to be at home.

If we ever get a T4 - it would be cool as hell if it would show the time travel aspect, but it has gotten so convoluted that pulling it off with some logic is almost impossible. 1. Apparently, both the resistance and the machines have developed the ability at the same time - which is odd in itself. 2. How did the resistance know which Terminator was sent to which point in time? Furthermore, how did they know this EACH AND EVERY TIME? I mean really, the machines should guard their secrets better. 3. In T3 the Terminatrix is looking for Connor's lieutenants because he himself has gone 'off the grid'. This means there is either a limit to the amount of times you can sent a Terminator to a certain time-frame OR there is a limit to the amount of years you can sent someone back. In the case of the latter the Terminators must have been sent back years apart for some reason (because a time machine has to 'charge up' for that amount of time perhaps?). Anyway, I could go on and on and on... For a future instalment to explain all the questions raised by T1-3 will be very difficult. Let alone if they have to factor in this new series. Speaking of which - the rights to the series and to the movies are in completely different hands. This doesn’t bode well for the Terminator continuity.

All the actors and actresses seemed a bit...um...too clean cut. Sarah Conner seems horribly miscast with no real badass in her at all. I could really care less if she's pretty. She needs that "Sigourney Weaver" Aliens-thing, which she just ain't got. Oh, also, John Connor needs to suck it up and stop whining. Random whining never sells a tv show.

You got the time travel thing wrong. There is only one time machine, and its only used once. You have to remember that the past is always changed the time machine is used. In the first time continuum a man and a T101 went in-it blew up. No one else gets to travel. Because Kyle gave Sarah information about the future and fathered her son, he gave humanity the chance to prepare for the war, but the T101`s chip and arm made the machines advance more rapidly. By the time (in the alternate timeline created) the machines figure out they have to travel thru time to win, they´ve already developed liquid metal..so they sent the T1000,...the humans, being better prepared, are able to send a reporgrammed T101- but again, they use the time machine only once. I do think you´re right about there being a time limit as to how far you can travel- so the same shit applies to T3. Oh, and those clips are awful.

It was an action flick that got lucky and the central theme has been done SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER in stories like the Matrix and especially Battlestar Galactica.
