bring back Angel and VM but Rob Thomas said VM was dead

At tvguide.com you can read all about it. Apparently the VM writers have already been offered jobs that they will now be taking. Rob Thomas didn't know exactly what Dawn Ostroff was talking about in regard to a project for him and Kristen, but I guess the Hollywood Reporter just inferred, perhaps presumptuously, she was referencing the FBI pitch (it sounds like she was really vague and evasive, which is annoying, like she's not ready to confront the backlash of the cancellation). If that new version were to go, then I suppose Rob would have to find a new batch of writers. It would be nice to see VM live on in some form, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I suspect the CW will draw a lot of criticism next season in regard to their choices in scheduling, so I hope there's some poetic justice.

where the fucks the communication from WB? rob is no idea and conflicting reports appear, will someone please get to the bootom of this? IT like a phone call saying your friend is dead, you going to the mortuary and ID'ing the body only o find out there was a mix up, then getting a call from your friend who phones from a mobile whilst driving says he's ok, and then you hear the car crash over the phone.

The CW needs to go back to their humble roots and dig through their treasure trove of lost-leader canon fodder suchas Moesha, The Wayan Bros., The Parkers and Jamie Foxx, the new generation: Nick Cannon, Meagan Good, Kat Williams, etc. They're cheap, available and exploitable.

3 seasons was a lot longer than anybody could have anticipated with such a small audience (most of which could probably be counted if you rounded up all the VM comments on the net).

Now, KB can move onto projects that will make her a bigger star, RT will know how to handle TV execs and hopefully not grovel at their feet again, and the CW can wallow in its mediocrity.

... this show seems stuck in the "it's not alive and yet not quite dead yet" realm. Though unfortunately it's probably just going to end up dead. On another note, it's a shame that they didn't give Angel a 12 or so (10-14) season six to properly finish things off. On the other hand, given the rate they're killing shows off in Season 1-4 these days, I guess the fact it made 5 full seasons of 22 episodes a piece increasingly seems like an anomalous miracle (and the writers/creators of Angel should have planned for the possibility of cancellation at the end of season 5 much sooner than they did and not been so surprised when it happened in retrospect, I guess ...).

It sounds like something the network would say to placate fans. It sounds exactly like the kind of stuff they said at the end of Angel, or Firefly, or any other show they shitcanned for no reason. It's hot air and it costs them nothing: "Oh sure, we're in talks about the possibility of doing X in a new format" = translation: "We have no intention of continuing this show in any way shape or form, but we're happy to make it sound like we'd still like to do something with the people we just shitted on".
Veronica Gets Lost on the Drive to Jericho...
by Kid Z
May 18th, 2007
07:56:21 AM
Our heroine gets accepted to the FBI Academy and leaves on a long drive to Quantico, Virginia. Needing some extra cash, and approached by a mysterious agent serving unknown employers, she agrees to his proposal to enter a mysterious race. The payoff is quite generous if she wins... and the finish line is in Virginia, near her original destination. However, passing through an idyllic small town in Kansas, the unthinkable happens... Nuclear War! Seeing a distant mushroom cloud, she crashes her car into another driver in the race (the crazy housewife carrying a babydoll). Veronica is knocked unconscious for who knows how long. When she awakens, she's on this strange, subropical island, along with the other drivers, their cars, and the residents of the Kansas town. She is again approached by the race agent who this time is accompanied by a strange and threatening bug-eyed man. Seems they work for the same strange organization. What do they want? Not only that, there is a sudden roaring sound as the trees in the island jungle start being knocked over! An uptight looking guy, followed by an Arab, a fat dude, a shaggy-haired redneck and a Scotsman run up. The uptight guy grabs her arm and shouts, "Come with me!" The Scotsman chimes in, "If ye dunna run now, ye're gunna DIE, sistah!" Tune in for Episode 1.2 next week.

I can't accept this, but I'm gonna have to. WHY!?!?!?!?

Frak the CW!

Frak Nielsen households!

Frak the Pussycat Dolls!

Frak American Idol!

Frak One Tree Hill!

Frak all the people watching trash while an excellent show like this can barely muster 2.5M viewers!

Screw the CW, I'm gonna make my own network, with blackjack and hookers..actually forget about the network. ;D

Veronica Mars needs to stay - but not in it's current form. The only good thing about the show are Veronica and her father. I could even handle it if daddy was relegated to an occasional guest star. The rest of the cast I could live with out. Lame Piz, lamr token black guy, lame stereotypical latino criminal, lame girlfirend who was a really adorable child actress who grew up not so adorable, lame self-absorbed former boyfriend and his imbicile blonde buddy - they can all take a flying leap. Junior FBI gilr Mars would be a much better take. Basically a witty and clever Clarice Starling. Even if they don't do the show - let her character jump to 4 years in the future - already gone through rookie training and now a junior agent – and have her join CBS's Criminal Minds as the new BAU girl.
CW - the new FOX?
by WILPOWER

CW is as lame as Fox when it comes to shows. Fox said goodbye to Andy Ricter controls the universe, Firefly, Wonderfalls, Drive and never even ran shows they owned like Buffy and Angel. But god forbid we don't get to see AMERICAN IDOL!! CW ditches Gilmore Girls (sure it was going downhill this season, but it still had some legs) and VM - but keeps One Tree Hill and Pussycat Dolls (who's last winner will never be a member of thre group it appears) - and has anyone ever seen an episode of Girlfiends? Let's face it. The general population are lemmings. They don't want engaging, quirky smart-written shows? NO WAY! They want bubble-gum fluff. And Fox and CW delivers. I am shocked FOX kept House (which I believe is a CBS or NBC owned series). Hugh Laurie is GOD!

A fantastic analogy, however, I feel that an observer would collapse it into a single state of "cancelled", never to be seen again. The obvious solution would be to not look and continue to say to ourselves that the show is still on. If we don't look at the CW, we can keep convincing ourselves this is true. Angel must be on Season 8 or 9 or somthing by now I think ...

and wondered what all the fuss was about. Before I saw it, I would come on to this site and hear about a show which seemed to be pointing in a comic book direction. but alas. it was not to be. all she did solve peoples problems, while investigating her mothers death and after that ridiculous dream sequence where she is on pond with her mother. and that over hyped cliffhanger. by the end of season 2 i was done with this show. So I wont miss it. Goodbye and good riddance.

The FBI show is not same as VM show, just shares a character, kinda like a spin off, so while VM is definitely dead, the other show is just like any other pitch - not alive enough to be dead. If it makes it, good, if not, we'll move on to whatever else RT comes up with - so far he is made at least 2 good shows, chances are there will be a #3. But Rob, a bit of advice, DON'T CAST Paula Marshal - she is the kiss of death.

was bought by Channel 5 off the bbc. for 300million . Neighbours is not just a tv show its a brand. The decline of advertising is causing a decline in audiences figures. worldwide. Which is why fox and other tv networks are cancelling shows left right and centre. I studied business in college so understand marketing and branding.
