I can't wait for this. Loved the book - and I am very happy to hear the Coens have kept to the third act resolution from the book. A major kick in the guts.

Perhaps it's similar to another review posted but this is brand new. And in response the claims that I'm a fucking idiot and retarded, I'll admit it's not my best review. I cranked it out in a hurry, but I don't think I'm retarded. Though to be fair, I did repeat a grade in school. Try to guess which one. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I've cranked one out in a hurry many times, but I've yet to be described as retarded or a fucking idiot. I'd plot my violent revenge if I were you.

Even CB misses are interesting. Except "Ladykillers," but they get a bye on that because they never intended to direct it. I think it was written to be a Barry Sonnenfeld Film, who would have been a better fit for the material.

I happen to think The Man Who Wasn't There was their last masterpiece, but I'm always up for another one.

I was at the same screening and it sounds like these two were part of the crowd who thought NCfOM was supposed to be more of a Fargo-style flick than the bleak, menacing film that it actually was. The crowd was an embarrassment who kept laughing at all the wrong times. The "Call it" conversation? Not funny at all. It's written and performed to be creepy as all hell. The chase by the dog through the river was thrilling and not amusing at all. They must have been watching a different movie.

I am really looking forward to this. I heard there is no music except for a marachi band, awsome. I already dread the super-creepy atmosphere. JB is becoming an actor I like, he was good in grindhouse.

The review may not have bneen perfect, but it was readable. Puppy shit is just jealous because Harry didn't publish the glowing review of Georgia Rule he sent in.

BTW, I reckon that the Coen's last bona fide masterpiece was O Brother Where Art Thou.

The Coen Bros. always offer something special. It would be interesting to see them adapt something by my favourite crime novelist, Jim Thompson. "SAVAGE NIGHT", "A HELL OF A WOMAN", "THE KILLER INSIDE ME" - there's lots to choose from. I look forward to seeing this new film of theirs!

i cant think of anybody that good at changing like a chameleon into any kind or personality, he's been a sneaky addict, a dour policeman, a dignified cripple, a terrifying psycho, a pompous priest, etc. this movie sounds very very cool.

Bungion Boy's reviews are always articulate, give the appropriate context to explain his like or dislike of a movie, and give you just enough information for you to say, "Wow, this sounds like something I'll really enjoy!" or "I'm going to skip this one; it ain't my cup of tea" - REGARDLESS of whether or not he liked it. IMHO - the epitome of an ideal review.

I'd love to see the Coens do 'Killer Inside Me'. Extraordinary. It had a big impact on a young Kubrick too. Still a very harsh, uncomprosing read. Maybe even more so, considering when it was written. Can you believe it's been 60 years since it was published? Hardcore. And yeah, NCFOM am I intrigued by. Looking forward to the coming adaptation of McCarthy's 'The Road' too. Haven't read the book but the buzz on it (from a diversity of sources) has been absolutely enormous.

I have to agree with parttimesaint on this, people were laughing too much at things that weren't meant to be funny - especially at the beginning. This isn't Fargo, this is Miller's Crossing or Blood Simple. Now there are funny moments, there are some very funny moments - mostly to do with Tommy Lee Jones and his deputy (all i'll say is "still sweating") or a corker with the oft-mentioned Mariachi band, but i think the publicists know that Coen comedy like Fargo, O Brother, Intolerable Cruelty has done best at the box office so they are trying to say it's Fargo. Ironically it's not a million miles away from TLJ own Cannes entry a coupla years back: Three Burials - only NCFOM is a hell of lot more violent. Either way it's a masterpiece, Coens on top form. Oh, and Bardem? One word: extraordinary.

What a great movie Fargo is. Marge Gunderson is one of the best movie characters of all time. I would love see another film with her in it, sort of like wht QT does with Earl McGraw.

Good review Bungion Boy. I remember writing a review and being called a hack and all these other names. It made me laugh and then go, "Wow, people take this shit too seriously." And being a retard is the new hipster.
