Johnny Knoxeville was supposed to play that creepy-ass cop that was all about trying to bang Lane's character while under witness protection. They cut all of that out? I onder if it just made the thing too long or if Knoxeville sucked. I've never seen him act. I liked this book. It wasn't Leonard's best, but mediocre Leonard is still a good read. Unfortunately, this has been the closest thing to a decent review of the movie that I've read. Sounds like they got the bad guys right but Jane & Lane's characters shouldn't be considered boring. Not getting my hopes up for this at all.

I always thought of Mickey Rourke and Harvey Keitel as the B movie equivalent of Bruce Willis and Robert DeNiro. A compliment for sure, don't get me wrong. I can see a studio exec saying "Get me Willis! If you can't get him, GET ME ROURKE."

...was gonna write/direct and play the part that JGL is playing, with DeNiro in the Rourke role, after they did JACKIE BROWN. Of course, I've noticed that many of these guys are going to do a lot of things.

52 PickUp I saw a few years back, that had some goons terrorize a middle aged couple ( Roy Scheider, Ann Margeret ). The main couple was kinda boring but the criminals, which included Clarence Williams III and John Glover, were excellant. I remember reading this book years ago, and enjoying the banter between the hitmen most of all. So, reviewer does this do Elmore justice?
this is finally gonna come out?

This movie was shooting a couple hours from where I live at one point (missouri). I was going to work on the set while they were here, but I ended up catching the flu (in the winter, of all times to catch the freakin' flu) so I didn't end doing it. Still though, it'll be interesting to see.

If you occasionally go to movies that don't completely suck, you'd know he's a phenomenal actor. His turns in Mysterious Skin, Brick and The Lookout are all great. Gordon-Levitt, Gael Garcia Bernal and Ryan Gosling are leading the next generation of young film actors. Besides, Hanks and Clooney were on shit TV shows before they were huge stars. Why does "Tommy from 3rd Rock" not deserve the same chance for redemption?

I'm sure most Afghanis much prefer Canadians to the Taliban. A better example would be how they kicked our ass in 1812.
