Your Spiderman 3 score review was hilarious. "Motive" for "motif," plenty of mixed metaphors and improper use of pretentious "big" words... genius. Are you Cumpston or Vern in disguise? Keep up the good work!

motive |ˈmōtiv| noun 1 a reason for doing something, esp. one that is hidden or not obvious : a motive for his murder. 2 (in art, literature, or music) a motif : the entire work grows organically from the opening horn motive.

Are you telling me a horn can have a motive? As in "The horn killed him because he was shagging his wife... and this was his motive?" Not sure scorekeeper....*strokes chin and looks suspiciously* im just not sure. Anyway, I've always trumpeted you as a valuable addition to this site. I really think too many morons on this site dont realise what would happen if their beloved films didn't have music by such talents as the Shores, Elfmans, Goldsmith's, Jarre's and Herrmann's. Too many people dismiss your talkbacks as unimportant... and there's always some idiot who rapidly writes "who cares" in your review talkbacks. I'd just like to say, I may be alone, but I CARE. And anybody who doesn't care, really doesn't understand movies. But is there actually any motif behind me saying this?

maybe it's more common to write motif for music, but since "motive" derives from the french "motif", which in turn derived from the Latin "motivus" (to move) both are accepted with the same meaning at times. this is true especially pertaining to music, since people have been using the term continuously since before the french/english split. (in german it's "motiv" (as in leitmotiv). There's also a term called "motivic saturation", which clearly refers to a "motive".)

bottom line, Scorekeeper was showing his support for our men and women in uniform by writing "motive" and not "motif".

fantastic, Scorekeeper!
