I guess it shows how much they care about this movie that they have the interns writing the fake reviews.

"if you're like me, and you like cool, awesome movies..." PLANT! Although, give Moriarty credit for running them. They're actually a fascinating look into the minds of studio marketers.
I never call out plants as well, but, holy smokes

they could have tried a little harder not to be so obvious.

Devin had a good piece on CHUD about journalistic integrity among the internet movie news community that I haven't really seen you respond to in kind. Honestly, isn't there actual news you could post as opposed to a couple of reviews which you yourself seem to think are fake? When I first started visiting CHUD, I thought it was kind of weird that they never ran any user-submitted reviews, having been a reader of this site for so long. It quickly became clear, however, that it's much easier to maintain a professional demeanor if you're not regurgitating press pieces from the studios. Really, what gives? I imagine that people come here for movie news, not ridiculous marketing ploys.
Saw this a month or two ago -- not very good

It has a dozen decent laughs, a few of the performances are solid (not Samberg's), and I think it might actually be big with teens who quite frankly aren't as discerning. But the movie is a mess, and the majority of the jokes fall flat.

hey, i had to register and all that nonsense simply because i wanted to clear something up about the stunt at the beginning. it is 100% real. i know the stunt guy and he actually broke his leg when he hit the landing ramp. the truth is the stunt went wrong. how the hell can you really think that stunt is an effect?

Temp Special Effects

I assume many of the effects weren't finished. And the music is probably a temp track as well. But at this screening, we did not get the usual speech informing us of these things. The lights just dimmed and the movie started. That's why I'm slightly suspicious of these reviews that said they were there. Hmmmm.

I saw this movie in LA maybe two months ago (I know, I said a month in my review..sue me [don't really]) and didn't feel the need to write anything because I'm lazy. They told us the movie was finished except for color correction...so I'm not sure how stunts managed to become unfinished in the last couple of weeks. They looked good and finished to me. Anyway, if a positive review makes me a plant, so be it. I really, really liked this movie. Perhaps I should have mentioned that I'm a fan of Andy's previous work, so maybe I was predisposed to liking it. Still, its a very funny movie and if you're a fan of silly, absurd comedies you just may find yourself a little classic in "Hot Rod".
