I will be there for A CHRISTMAS STORY. Can't wait! Also, last night at the Cleveland Cinematheque I had the privilege of seeing the RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK ADAPTATION made by a bunch of kids over a 7 year period starting when they were around 10 years old. The place went nuts! Every second was pure joy. I haven't seen that much unbridled enthusiasm in an audience since... Hell, I've never seen that kind of excitement in a theater! It was amazing. I thought the novelty might wear off after a few minutes, but was I wrong! They completely rose to the occasion and wildly exceeded all my expectations. The director and guy who played Indy were there as well for a Q&A session afterward. I had a chance to talk to them and they are just the nicest guys imaginable. Scott Rudin is planning a feature film based on their story, and when it eventually makes it to DVD they MUST include their original remake. It really is inspiring and a tribute to what can be accomplished with a little detrmination, perserverance, and imagination. Great job!

I went back and looked at photos from 2006 and they hit Chicago, NY, etc. I'd say the cities in this year's tour certainly are due. Hello, the Coney Island screening for The Warriors looked awesome.

I used to go for BBQ back when I still ate meat, and I never got shot, and I am white. I guess "they" were too busy raping and looting to shoot me. Darn.

Way to recycle media hysteria. But if you've been shot at, or lost a friend to violence, I apologize for assuming you are just rehashing what you see on TV.

My girlfriend and I did the Goonies in Astoria to Close Encounters at Devil's Tower leg two years ago. Then last year we did The Warriors in Coney Island, plus the Field of Dreams in Iowa to the Shining in Colorado jaunt. I highly recommend catching as many of these as you possible can. It's truly a blast. This year we'll be doing the Santa Cruz to Oregon portion. Can't wait.

Man oh man! I cannot WAIT for this event! There's 2 in Georgia! I live 5 minutes from the Starlight Drive in. I have been to BNAT a few times and LOVE the vibe that Tim and Karrie put out for all of us. They just love film and to see anything at the Alamo is a treat. The first movie I saw there was Fast Times at Ridgemont High with Harry back in 2000. It was a midnight show and I was in town for a wedding. So, where did we go? Drinks at Fado and then the Alamo, of course! I will be sad to see the downtown Alamo go, but the Roadshow will help take the sting away. Tim/ Karrie, et all... I can't wait to see you guys again.

Cool! I might get to attend in Brownsville! Ya gotta get Lard Ass Hogan to attend. His name is Andy Lindberg and he's a stage actor here in Portland. Maybe he can eat a pie and hurl for old times sake. Personal note: I was late for work because of the filming of the "chicken" scene between the car and the truck on that old road. I'm almost over it.

why do you have to be such a prick on such a nice day? I mean, seriously... as if Yoko didn't have any idea what she was getting into by marrying our favorite redheaded stepchild here. Why do you think making yet another Harry-related weight joke here would be the cool thing to do? And FG35? that Alaska joke made me laugh. Nice work. I am seriously not going to Alaska for a movie. Austin is my limit from Atlanta. Though, I think if I were to have opprotunity to see the LoTR trilogy in New Zealand (just about anywhere, since it's so g-d beautiful)... I would. Tim...are you listening? More importantly, my brother who makes way more cheese then me...are YOU listening? Ohhh... can we go to Los Angeles in the future and watch Blade Runner in the rain while wearing see-thru raincoats? Please? We could get Darryl Hannah to beat up people! While wearing an eyepatch! Wait... as Venkman always says... Don't cross the streams. OH SHIT! - epiphany! Big Trouble in Little China in San Fransisco! I would book my ticket TO-DAY if that was happening. Look into it Tim. Seriously. Get Kurt Plisken (thanks Neal) and Dennis Dun there and have Egg Shen's bus tours and everything! I can't wait.

But I must admit....Goldfinger @ Fort Knox would rule. Maybe I can make it back home for that one. While you are in the area, check out the Patton museum. It's "on base", as it were. Louisville is about a 25 minute car ride up the road (depending on Dixie Highway traffic) and there's some cool shit to do back in the hometown....like visit Churchill Downs, tour the Louisville Slugger museum/Hillerich & Bradley plant, chill on the "Great Lawn" park down by the river, maybe catch a classic movie at the Palace Theater (www.louisvillepalace.com) or explore any number of effing awesome Frederick Law Olmstead's parks (Louisville has got one of the best park systems in the country...if they would only build some more goddamned bike trails!). And, this is one I haven't done yet...the Muhammad Ali Center, also down on the waterfront. It's supposed to be pretty spectacular. I might hit it this weekend when I go home for the Derby.

But for sure I'll be there in Baltimore (pronounced BALL-more) for the Waters-a-thon. Any chance of that being held at the AWESOME Bengie's drive in? They rock! Warner Bros. cartoons between the movies, and sno-balls & pizza at the concession stand...fairly priced! There may be some bad blood between Bengies & John Waters (he used the drive in marquee in one of his movies...perhaps without permission???). You'd think the ownership would eat that shit up, but nooooooooooo. As it is, one of the "house rules" is NO PHOTOGRAPHY OF ANY KIND. Pity, too, cause I love the drive in & wish I could have taken some photos of my late pooch LadyBugs there, as she accompanied me to many a show there. Oh well. Have fun & see you on the road! I'll be the one with the illegal smile!

um... actually - this isn't a MOVIE THEATER. They're outdoor screenings in amazing locations. AND - that only takes up 11 days of the 30 day trip, which will include amazing days at some of the most stunning sites this country has to offer.

AND - this isn't the Honeymoon. that will be on some far off shore, but only after I take her to Ireland, which again... won't be the Honeymoon... which would take place some time after I take her to Prague... which again, won't be our Honeymoon. -- You're right. poor girl.

The city of Fargo is indeed in North Dakota, just across the Red River from Minnesota, but the movie "Fargo" takes place in Brainerd and Minneapolis, except for the opening scene, which, while set in Fargo, was shot in northeast Minneapolis.

LONDON (APRIL 27): The Weinstein Co. today announced that Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s highly anticipated Grindhouse double bill will be released as two separate movies in the U.K. Tarantino’s Death Proof will be released via Momentum Pictures/Dimension Films on September 21 with Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror released at a later date to be confirmed shortly. Death Proof will screen In Competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, May 16-27 2007 continuing the festival’s long and successful collaboration with the filmmaker whose 1994 movie Pulp Fiction won the coveted Palme D’Or. Tarantino’s Death Proof is a white knuckle ride behind the wheel of a psycho serial killer’s roving, revving, racing death machine. Rodriguez’s Planet Terror is a heart-pounding trip to a town ravaged by a mysterious plague. Inspired by the unique distribution of independent horror classics of the sixties and seventies, these are two shockingly bold features replete with fake trailers, missing reels and plenty of exploitative mayhem. Rodriguez and Tarantino set out to make two very different, very complete movies which will be distributed separately internationally where the culture of grindhouses grinding out movies back to back is not familiar. Harvey Weinstein stated, “We are very proud of “Grindhouse,” which earned overwhelming rave reviews for its audaciousness and boldness. Based on US audience's positive reactions to Quentin Tarantino's 'Death Proof' and Robert Rodriguez's 'Planet Terror' combined with their resistance to the three-hour running time, we’ve revised our UK release plans to allow audiences the chance to see the films separately, like they will be shown in all international territories. We are really excited about launching the new version of 'Death Proof' in Cannes and about the international release for both movies.”
