They must have been reasonably happy with the job he did on 'Phoenix,' then. I'd personally like to see the director's chair continue to revolve, but I guess getting a good director to return is fine as well.

A good one this time please, without Radcliff and his crappy '..I want to fight' oneliner and without the bad music and editing but a trailer that fits with the essence of the story and the touch of the director. So that means, no need to show of any of the big action sequences. Just the politics and . The teaser was just terrible, the greatest part was the Harry Potter logo with the John Williams theme. Oh hey, we don't got John Williams anymore, HOOPER BETTER NOT FUCK IT UP AS MUCH AS DOYLE DID. Bring back some Potter themes please.

If you actually listen to the score to "Goblet", it was appropriately sinister, dark and foreshadowing. It did an effective job of changing the tone of the movie from the first three. That being said, "Azkaban" still has the best score, IMHO. I get the good chills when I hear the "Flight of Buckbeak" track.

did not score goblet very well. his themes lacked nuance and failed to create the atmosphere that j.w. established with his more dissonant score. I hope this new guy treats the material with more of an edge. Oh, and RICKY GERVAIS for SLUGHORN!!!!

Then you missed the whole point of "Goblet of Fire". A quote from the movie itself, "I guess things are going to be different from now on". I think a change from "dissonant" music would be a GOOD thing. (Are you sure you're using the right word there? 'dissonant' when describing music means unresolved or harmonically lacking)

of Slughorn. Too bad he is not British. I think Rowling had an agreement that the cast for all the movies must be Brits (for the characters that are Brits) I can see Ricky Gervais as Slughorn, but he will have to wear a fat suit.

..screwed up. Doyle uses plenty of it in his own score, future Potter films will be full of it. No, Doyle screwed up because he discarded all the themes and foundations that Williams was building on. The forced interpretations of Hedwigs theme is all that's left. JW made a superb start for that grande Voldemort theme with meeting Tom Riddle in the Chamber of Secrets soundtrack. You could feel him building to that all important moment in Goblet, the return of the Dark Lord. So what does Doyle do? He throws it away, not just Voldemorts theme but all the motifs and musical layers that gave the magical world of Potter and the castle of Hogwarts, it's own touch. The themes and underscore from Doyle are all very random and uninspired. Harry in Winter is probably one of the most annoying themes I've heared. The ultra high strings in which the theme sweeps is just, arrgg, it's just not magical. On it's own it's a descent piece of composition but it is random and not in style to the magical world of Potter. You see, a big difference in the writing is that Doyle chooses to play into the emotions of the characters and score only for the events that are shown on screen. Williams, on the other hand, wrote music for the everchanging magical world that Harry lives in, specially the magical world that is "Hogwarts". In this large piece of writing he creates leitmotifs and themes for characters and develops them while they grow. Williams crafted so much good music for the world of Hogwarts; for the castle, the stairs, the great hall. Simple motifs combined with playfull and highly inventive compositions. Doyle threw that all away and made a soundtrack to support the events on screen but forgets to give the magical world of Hogwarts it's heart and soul. In an ongoing series with ever changing directors it was simply amazing to have a very distinctive composer like Williams onboard to tie the entire package together. Now that the musical pattern is broken the world of the Potter films have lost the feel of Rowlings universe. The feel that Williams so superbly managed to capture in the first 3 films. ..Things are going to be different know means that the same world is going to feel a little different. Because of political influences and war and terror. But the heart of the world is still the same, no matter what evil touches it. Doyle should have developed this different sound from the same heart and not rip it out to replace it with a new one.

I don't want to see ANY summer blockbusters in IMAX 3D again. They butchered that movie to squeeze it into IMAX 3D, and since it was a pretty weak movie to begin with, it ended up being a horrible experience that gave me a headache. Fuck IMAX. Fuck it right in the ear.

I couldn't agree more. As a huge fan of 3D, and as a frequent IMAX-3D moviegoer (the documentaries), watching Superman was like getting punched in the face. Anything not shot with 3D Cameras, or 3D Animation to begin with, looks worse than poor in Imax 2.5-D

International OOTP trailer debut on Sunday According to AOL's website (and confirmed by Warner Brothers), the second Order of the Phoenix trailer will be online starting Sunday at 2 PM GMT (10 AM EST), after the broadcast debut on Channel 4 in the UK. In other parts of the world, the trailer will be released on the 21st in Japan, the 24th in the United States, and early May in Latin America.

I'm a huge 3-D geek. Really. Love, love, love it. But there are two things I hate: movies that are only partially in 3-D- drawing attention more to the mechanics than the work- and movies that are "converted" from 2-D to 3-D- which, despite the care and technology of some practitioners is still not a good idea. Here we have both. Again. Cut it out and make some real 3-D movies.

Sure some shots ( most of the water stuff ) did look COOL in 3-D but most of it sucked because it was FAKE 3-D. The first 3-D scene in the corn field of young Clark running and jumping was the worst looking. The sad part was the few action scenes that were not converted to 3-D still looked great in IMAX and I think the whole shuttle rescue would of played better without the 3-D as having to put on and take off the glasses for each 3-D scene only made you noticed the movie looked fine in 2-D IMAX and the FAUX 3-D looked like a viewmaster still. Movies made in IMAX 3-D are fine. FAUX 3-D not so fine... After waiting 3 months for SR to come to my IMAX and $15 for a ticket I wished I would of seen just the regular SR without the 3-D.
