Why are people SO stupid? Why? Instead of red states and blue states, there should be people that like Robin Williams states and people who want to bludgeon Robin Williams states. Then, the people who want to bludgeon Robin Williams states would totally get all the good movies. Like Smokin' Aces. Oh wait, that was a crime against humanity. Um, let me think about this some more.

But I'm just happy to see Hollywood out something with a priest who isn't molesting a kid. At least, I think he isn't. And who said "Krasinski gets a feature deal"? He got a part in a movie. Big difference. He's likeable and funny on The Office, why can't he be good in something else? I mean, no one probably is in this flick, but in something else.

i said "Krasinski gets a feature deal?". he can be good in something. he's just sort of bland in the American Office. he displays no virtuosity that warrants a film deal. the office is the first thing he's really done. so that's why i'm kind of confused.

He looks so much like Will Kemp...um, anyway...I do enjoy his voiceover work as well, as he played the Gilbert Grape squirrel in an episode of "American Dad" and will be playing Lancelot in "Shrek 3". This...well, I'm a Catholic, and I'm not sure what the movie's going to be like, except I know it's about a wacky priest who gets too involved in an engaged couple's life. It should be less offensive than "Saved"...

Remember when Robin Williams was funny?
by SpyGuy
Apr 18th, 2007
10:48:13 PM
I mean, laugh-out-loud funny, like when he did that special at the Hollywood Bowl and GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM. Now...he's just kinda sad to watch, like any number of fading stars that are past their prime and never evolved as the years wore on.

Perhaps Robin has realized this as well, which is why he's blatantly taking on projects for the paycheck instead of holding out for quality material. Until then, unfortunately, we're forced to watch him trot out that tired Jack Nicholson impression in interviews for instantly forgettable projects like this one.

The number of negative portrayals of priests in films/TV is far less than the number of actual creepy molester priests in real life. In other words, Hollywood has a lot of catching up to do before you are allowed to cry. That said, this does look like a shitty movie.

Maybe this film wont be a comedy classic, but bashing it based on it's poster? You should know that a movie's marketing and the actual film are two different things. I'm sick and tired of the Robin Williams bashing. Lets face it. The man is talented, won an oscar, made some of the funniest films and stand up routines in the last 30 years, yet will NEVER get respect. There's more to life than picking on a SUCCESSFUL comedian.

Robin Williams has been doing that same painfully tired, cliched "southern evangalist/preacher" bit for over 30 years now... do we really NEED to see an entire film's worth of it? When will studios stop putting him in movies and just let him go and die peacefully on the next version of "Hollywood Squares"?

The establishment of packaging conventions helps idiots quickly navigate through the three films that Blockbuster has on the new release wall.

All comedies are white background with puffy red lettering and the actors making exagerated and radically different facial expressions. IE one person person looking extremely happy and another looking really fed up. (see above poster)

Action movies always feature a black background and a scowling man with an explosion and frequetly a woman looking pained.

Any movie that has a poster that looks different from conventions will not attract as many people to pick up the box or debate going into the cinema and seeing it. All they'll think is "ewwww... that looks foriegn".

Conventional posters also help warn smart people that the movie also will be conventional.
more fun with poster conventions!
