...And possibly Dirk Benedict as well. Though, it would be funny if they showed the movie in a fast forward mode, so they'd be telling the truth, yet able to pull off a joke. But nothing will beat the fart-filled Adult Swim line up from last year. I never laughed so hard at Ghost in the Shell. BWAHA!

before being released to the theatres, don't know if they had a televised broadcast. Oh wait, wasn't The Hebrew Hammer shown on Comedy Central before it was released to theatres? Or was it never released?

if you're not a fan, you ain't gonna be swayed by the movie... the preview screenings were not attended by fans. thats the whole point, to see if the rest of dumb-shit N.A. will like it... they won't. so fuck'em if they can't take a joke!!! fuck'em harder if they can!!!

HEBREW HAMMER did indeed get a limited theatrical release after Comedy Central aired it. Also, back in 1996 the Japanese film SHALL WE DANCE (which the crappy Richard Gere flick is a remake of) was disqualified from Foreign Film Oscar consideration as it had aired on television (Japanese TV I think) prior to its US theatrical Oscar-required scrfeenings. (The movie had won 14 Japanese Awards of the Japanese Film Academy.)

"The Believer" actually showed at several film festivals (including Sundance) before it was picked up Showtime, so it was "officially" a theatrical release.

And just a lame idea althogether. If it had good writing, and a good idea, I suppose the horrendous artwork would suffice. But the writing is lame, the direction even more lame, and the boredom endless. This one is heading straight to the crapper, and wont' even make it's money back on video.

Never watched Wonder Showzen. Looked like it might be interesting from the previews, but for me, Adult Swim's been all downhill since the classics: Space Ghost, Brak, and sometimes Harvey Birdman (aside from the occasional good few seconds on Robot Chicken).

that font of accurate online information, and it states that it was released theatrically overseas before the US tv debut. although it also says that the role of Colonel Adama was played by Lorne Greene, king of the polar bears and inventor of cornflakes.

BSG pilot theatrical
by Fat Chooch

The original BSG pilot played theatrically in europe and canada before airing on ABC. It did not play theatrically in the U.S. until after the first season had aired. Universal spruced it up by remastering the audio into Sensurround for the US release and by re-inserting the Baltar death scene that was excised from the TV airing. I remember it well because it was the last movie that Universal released in that format and only went to see it in the theaters because of the Sensurround. But I promise you that it aired on ABC before it played theatrically in the US.
