because they probably won't even sell that much. Who in their right mind would buy this? Especially since the last two Karate Kid movies sucked and the best part of the first one is all the bad/great 80s music. What the hell? Is the Karate Kid saga really known for it's music? We're not talking about Star Wars, or Indiana Jones or even Lord of the Rings. It's like someone putting out a 4 disc set of all the fine music from the Revenge of the Nerds movies. Jesus.

Wow, this CD set is for hardcore KK fans, and Bill Conti apologists only. As has been pointed out, give me the pop soundtrack any day of the week. Cruel Summer, Feel the Night (the Golf N' Stuff love montage) and the Joe "Bean" Esposito Behemoth hit, "YOU"RE THE BEST !! (AROUND, AND NOTHING'S EVER GONNA KEEP YOU DOWN)"

It's limited because of the costs involved. Why are you bitching? There's market for everything! So, you don't like it, well, others do. A lot of music in films is buried in the sound mix. So, it's not Indy or Star Wars, sounds (pun not intended) like you don't watch anything but blockbuster movies.

I love Varese Sarabande... I must own 25-30 of their soundtracks... but I'm past the point where I'm willing to pay top dollar for a 35-minute "score." Lamentably, the days of full, rich, two-disk scores by John Williams and the like seem to be falling further and further behind us. Nowadays, every other movie is just punctuated by some lame-ass Mudvayne track or the latest from DJ Skribblewifcrayons. You damn kids today. =)

"The Karate Kid is another of the quintessential scores from the 80s that everyone remembers.."

Uh, it is? Yeah, maybe if somebody hummed it for me, I'd remember it. It's not exactly the same as the theme from "Rocky," which Conti also did. I just don't see this news as a big whoop. Even if it were about the soundtrack for "Rocky," it wouldn't be a big deal. Who's thinking about the Karate Kid these days? Much less the music from the films.

Ime sure i read somewhere that Steven Segal was lined up to play the part of John Kreese, or it might have been Terry Silver. Either way, it would have made a much more enjoyable film, watching Segal getting his ass kicked by Mr Myogi. Also Part 3 was the best.

For the longest time I have wanted to get my hands on the score/ soundtrack for the movie Mr. Wonderful (early 90's with Matt Dillon and Annabella Sciorra). Commence laughter. I'll give you a second to regain your composure. There is this one recurring theme in the movie that I have always wished to have on a cd but have never been able to find a soundtrack. I guess as a last resort I could rip the audio from the DVD but I don't want to hear the dialogue with the music. Any ideas? Thanks.

Best KK? Part 2
by Doc_Strange
Mar 13th, 2007

I really like part one as well but for me part 2 upped the stakes with life and death. The guy who played Chozen was kickass, like he would kick your ass in real life. Plus the Okinowan backdrop was awesome and the final battle taking place in the temple was great and well choreographed. Part 3 was cool but could have been a lot better. I think that Thomas Ian Griffith was well cast as Terry Silver. The problem with the movie, in my opinion was that Daniel didn't have to fight to get to the finals, that he only had to fight Barnes. To me that was dumb, I would have liked to have seen a montage with different participants like in the first film and also the evolution of Daniel's karate. Had that been introduced into the film, I think it would have been much sweeter.

Some People Actually Care

I just love the haters around here. What do you people do, just cruise the site until you find a story that looks crappy to you just so you can go post something negative? Just because something's not memorale to you personally doesn't mean that people don't remember it. Also, who cares if the series went way downhill after Part II? Does the music have to suck in a film just because the movie blows? Some people are interested in seeing these scores get released if, for no other reason, they deserve to be preserved in some form. If any of you were actually fans of music, movies or either, you might have some understanding of that.
