I wish I lived in Chicago. Halas, I'm from Montreal, where there is no such festival. It's off to the videostore for me!

Saw a live theatrical interpretation of Point Break on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. After Busey's character asked to "get him two", they served meatball sandwiches to the audience.

I live close enough to Chicago that this is incredibly tempting, but I can't do it. That just sucks.

was the film that first made me scared of William Petersen's penis.

Seriously, have you seen the recent DVD release of that movie? He's "hanging out" in like 3 different scenes in that movie. I didn't want to see Gil Grissom like that.

I don't want to say where the screening will be held because I don't want people just showing up. But it will NOT be at Pipers Alley or in the suburbs like MONSTER HOUSE was. This is taking place at a theater in downtown Chicago, which really only leaves you a couple of choices.

Kansas sucks!!! sorry it's my choice to live here, but Kansas NEVER gets any cool screenings and if they ever have in Denver (which I am close enough to attend) I don't know about it or hear about it too late

Are you new to Chicago, Jugdish? You can virtually always find a metered spot within walking distance of the downtown theaters, especially the ones that don't have reasonable validated parking.

I was just at the Bank of America right next to the theater. I asked the chick in the box office about the event, but she didn't know anything about it. Oh well, I'm still gonna be there. I just have to make sure I get that Sunday off work...

If you're parking off Michigan Ave. for this, you're in the wrong part of town. Unless there's something else I don't know about this event...

For the downtown screening...got it. I thought this was all taking place at the Brew & View, both days. I guess if it's "downtown" it's either the Loews on Michigan Ave. or the AMC River East. And yeah, Piper's Alley kinda blows.

Nice to see that the HOT FUZZTIVAL idea is being repeated outside of the UK. An extended form of the event - which also had a Hot Fuzz preview and talk with Wright, Pegg and Frost - was held at the ICA in London before the UK opening...cracking stuff all round.
