But how come they can poop out the abyssmal Resident Evil & its sequels,Underworld, the Matrix, etc with an "R" rating yet are still afraid to give Watchmen the "R" it needs to succeed?Granted,Watchmen was based on a comic, but it was never purposely kid friendly(even though I LOVED it as a kid).

I am not a big fan of the spider-flicks, but that does sound pretty cool... so much for everyone saying the Venom storyline was going to be put off for part 4!

Although RE:2 was junk, I will keep an open mind regarding RE:3. Oded was the only watchable element of the Mummy 2, so here's hoping he gets a fair shake. And of course I'm psyched for 300, as any fan of Sin City and violent onscreen sword combat should be.

Thanks for an ace article.

It seems readily apparent from this article that Ali Larter has some. It's satisfying to hear that the guy got what he deserved. Instead looking cool in front of all the "cool movie people" as he most likely had hoped; he ended up looking the moron he really is.

Larter was smart. She knew not to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

Opinionated vs. Tactless cruelty
by David Lazarus Long
Mar 4th, 2007
03:25:17 PM
"love the show, but think that yours is the worst character" - Opinion

"Even though you're a so-so actress" - Opinion

"is there a possibility that you can ask them to kill your character off?" - Tactless cruelty.

Voicing your thoughts on an actor's work is one thing, but suggesting that the actor should try to sabotage a role? That's just mean. There are many ways he could have conveyed his displeasure without taking the cheap-shot route of "kill yourself". That's a decision for the creator and writers to make, has nothing to do with the actress or her ability, and is not a valid question but rather a meek attempt to get a rise out of her and/or the crowd. I'm sure that guy is furiously blogging away about "how cool am I for taking a shot at Ali Larter".

I'm more inclined to say he's a dick that hasn't gotten laid since college. I'm certainly not the biggest fan of where they've gone with the Nikki/Jessica/DL/Micah thread, and yea, maybe it would be best for her to get killed off, but it ain't my call, it ain't Ali Larter's call, and it ain't Fatso McWhiner's call either. Now, if this question had been directed at Kring or another writer, it would be valid. Like, if Milla had been there, would he have asked "Milla, I hate the RE films. Even though you're a so-so actress, can you ask the director to stop making these movies?" No, because that sounds RETARDED. Milla has no control over how many RE movies they make, just like Larter has no control over what they do with her character.

Fucking pathetic. Kudos to Larter for not giving that fuck what he wanted. That being said, I'm gonna go beat off to that Maxim she was in a few years back. Hellooooo Ali!

While I agree that famous actors need to be thick skinned; I don't think that guy's behavior was appropriate... the way it was described.

As David Lazarus Long said in his post,... 'I'm sure that guy is furiously blogging away about "how cool am I for taking a shot at Ali Larter"'.

It's a sound byte world we live in; and IMO that guy was just trying to look cool for a nano-second at the expense of somebody famous. He could've stated opinions all day long; but when he made it a personal attack that changed things.

However, I appreciate you disagreeing with me in a civil manner... that can be a rare thing on these boards sometimes.

Only one man can bring lasting glory to the Spider-Man franchise; Uwe Boll. That's right friends! No other director will lift the series into infamy. In 30 years these current "Spider-Man" stoires will fade into obscurity. To avoid this the studio must take charge and chance with Uwe in creating three more Spidey movies: Spider-Man 4: Gator Bait (with guest direcot Tim Burton), Spidey Vs. Predataliens, Spider-Man & the Silky Sheets: A One Act Told in Four Parts by Uwe BOll and the sure to be perennial classic Gieco Insurance Presents The Spider-Man Christmas Special Spectacular: The North Pole Siege.

"I think they should kill your character off.", not "Tell them to kill your character off." How exactly did he expect her to respond to that? "Oh. Thanks. I'll do that." No, he wanted her to fly off the handle. There is NO POSSIBLE REASON to say something like that unless you want to provoke someone. If he had said "I think they should kill you off.", she could have given her position on his opinion, such as, "Well, you won't think so in a few weeks," or "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way but it's really up to the writers." He didn't want those responses. He wanted "Well, fuck you too you little twerp!", which she refrained from. Maybe the writers should kill HIM off.

(voice of Comic Book Guy) "Excuse me, excuse me, Miss Larter... I have discovered my own hidden superpower: the power of Disgruntled Nerd! I challenge you to a duel of wits... as soon as I finish the 300 burritos in this wheelbarrow."

Of course, the movie will suck anyway. You could write a script review where you told me that they have a scene where Milla and Ali come to my house and blow me in a documentary-style shot, and I would still know that since it's got the Resident Evil name on it, it will suck. How they manage to make bad zombie movies is anyone's guess, but they get the job done.

Is why I would never have my stars even bother with this suckacon bullshit or whatever. You can get major actors and actresses on the cheap if they don't get jammed into this promotion junk that only a few dozen people hear about in the first place. Once you start laying on worthless promotions like this that barely even play with the core crowd, then the agents start raising the payscale to impossible levels.

Lou Romano voiced Dash's beleaguered teacher in The Incredibles, and his voice work on Linguini is a far cry from that work. If Bird hadn't said, I don't think I would've noticed. He is voicing Linguini, but the role of Remy's brother, Emile, is performed by Peter Sohn.

I think that panel had the most assholes per capita of any presentation that day. That first guy... wow. That guy was an industrial-grade douche. I bet he went home and masturbated to the thought of almost making a woman cry. (Probably because that is the only emotional impact he is capable of having on women...) People like that make me want to retch. I also sorta wanted to punch the guy who broke the rules and pissed off a ballroom full of people by getting an autograph during the Q&A. And the little shit didn't even stay for the panel. He took his comic book and marched straight out the door. (And home to Ebay?) There were some real nutters in the other panels, though, but no total jerks. Still, a fun day overall, and I am totally psyched about most of the movies I saw panels for. Except for Surf's Up. I get the feeling that the Surf's Up panel was the brussels sprouts, and the Spidey 3 trailer was the ice cream.

For those of you who were wondering, yes the one Venom shot we have already seen was in the trailer, but the one at the very end was new. Also, there was roughly three or four times as much footage of Peter ripping off the suit in the church tower as we have ever seen before. And tons of new snippets throughout the trailer. I would estimate at LEAST 60-65% of the trailer was footage I hadn't seen, even if it came from scenes we've already seen other parts of. Believe me, it got EVERYBODY at the panel pumped up.

Gerald Butler was freaking HILARIOUS! He really embraced the geekness of being at a Comic Con, and seemed totally in his element. Nobody else was even half as entertaining as he was, although the director of TMNT was a natural as well. I think my favorite moment was when one of the ladies in line was a mother who was on her cell phone with her 12 year old daughter, and she asked on behalf of the kid, "What did you want to be when you were twelve?" His reponse was to roar in his bad-ass Scottish brogue "A KILLER!"

There's a new article on SHH wherein MacGuire told some paper or another that "it feels like a trilogy" and the "team should break up." Huh? You mean, they introduce Venom in Spidey 3 and Spidey licks him AND Sandman in the same picture? C'mon. There's no way. At least, no GOOD way for that to happen. You mean to tell me, Brock will become Venom near the end of this picture and Spidey will somehow defeat him within a half hour or so and that's it?

Had she been an ass like Kirstin Dunst and put down comic fans and fans of her own movie series, maybe so, but she hadn't opened her mouth. 2. He was acting on the fact that it was a woman and she wouldn't stoop as low as to belt him in the mouth, had he said that to just about ANY male actor, he would have either been thrown a beat'n or ridiculed for the virgin that he is. 3.She (like everyone else has said) is not the show's writter so she has zero control. If Maguire actually does want to leave the movies, I could see why - he has a bad back and these movies take a shitload of energy to make. If he leaves, and Sam Raimi decides to pursue the franchise, I could easily see another actor filling the role in the next film. Someone like, I dunno, Jake Gyllenhall? Sounds great to me. He looks the part, has the acting chops, and he's probably a fan of the comics. Kirsten Dunst shouldn't mind. It wouldn't be like a Batman deal where it'll happen in every movie. I think it would work.
