We have blood- both in this report and from me!

Well, at least I was spurting blood about 3 hours ago- gashed my big toe on some broken porcalin-haven't bled like that in ages (now to only get the stains out of my rented apartment!). Quint, whatever you keep doing, keep giving us the next couple reports like this! This is true 'geeking out' at it's finest, and I'm eating up every word of it. I was skeptical of the tentacle's revision, but the image you implanted in my head of that sucker opening up with those tiny mouths inside ready to tear our [unnamed]character apart some, my jaw is on the floor. I'm going to be going mad for this film. Hell, someone get me to a test screening when Darabont gets this sucker wrapped! I don't care if there is green screen or wires still in the shot. This is my must see movie of the year. Generally I'm not a blood and guts fan (nowadays, most audiences I see these films with are more humored by this stuff than scared by it, which takes something away from me). My biggest gripe is that some idiot, somewhere is at first going to see those tentacles and say 'Ah, they stole that from 'Pirates of the Caribbean.' Though maybe when those tentacles open up, they'll change their tune.
Yeah, Sadler is good people

The guy is just alot of fun to watch. A solid actor through and through. One of the things that always strikes me about his performances is how commited he always seems to be to what he's doing, he never phones it in. I also think Demon Knight is still one of the most underrated horror films out there.
Great reports...

the giddy excitment adds to them so don't worry about typos etc Quint. I'm amazed at the access they're giving you it must reflect in their confidene in the film and I bet there's a prop tentacle coming your way so keep up the good work. I'm jealous.

I remember first seeing Francis Sternhagen as the feisty doctor in Outland with Sean Connery. I fell in love with her outspoken doctor in that film. The set reports are great. Keep up the awesome work. I've loved this story forever. I remember the radio play version and have it on CD. I am so geeked for the release of this film. Such high expectations, I hope it does not dissappoint.
Sounds really cool!

Ummm how about some pictures man??? I mean, I realize it's top secret closed set, or what not. But at least maybe a shot of you in the BreadShop? Milk and Eggs? Chips and Salsa? Hey!....please tell Frank Darabont that we have total faith in him! Shawshank and Green Mile were as fine and entertaining films that i've watched. Hell, I even liked the remake of the Blob and the Fly 2.
Francis Sterhagen was great as Noah Wyles Granny in ER

I have not read the book myself but I think thats a good thing. I did the same with the lord of the rings movies. I stayed away from spoilers and didnt give in to temptation and go and buy the books to find out what happend at the end. I have the books now and I have to say they left alot of good stuff out but then again the movies are great anyway. So yeah like I said, sounds good to me so far.

I've always found set visits to be pretty tedious, but Quint, you paint a great picture of what's going on up there. Sounds like Frank D is shooting fast and furious just like he promised...cheers to guerilla filmmaking!

Boring or not, the way Quint is describing the shots is exactly how I pictured them in my mind when reading the story. I've probably read The Mist at least five times. What a great story. Seeing it on film is going to rock!

Ask Frank what he thinks about the possible Dark Tower adaptation. Would he be interested in being a part of it? If so what would he like to do? Any particular book or scene? Direct? Write the script? I need to know!

You really should read the book first. It's just blindingly good. I don't think the film, no matter how faithful or well-made , will live up to the source material. Get it read, man!
Great job

Heh, I went back and checked out the Talkbacks from yesterday...I wouldn't say it was a Sadler lovefest, it was just a couple of posts. Hope he's not disappointed when he goes to look. But yeah, solid actor, loved him in Bill & Ted.

Like you, huge King fan, though never read Dark Tower books. The guy saying pollution cloud - does that mean there is no reference to military experiments with portals to other worlds (as in the book)? I really hope they reference that as a possibilty. I know we never actually learn if that's what happened, but it makes it more credible than a pollution cloud. Thanks in advance.

In book version of 'The Mist,' one of the people in the market does say it could be a pollution cloud blowing in.

and now that it is finally arriving, i'm feeling some kind of anticlimax. I've no intention of doing Darabont down, he is exactly the right person for the job. But I just get that feeling that nothing will live up to how I pictured that story in my head. Seeing Norm the bag boy is bad enough. You know what spooked me in that story? The two young soldiers from the Arrowhead project that are found hanging. The implications within that scene spoke volumes. That kind of dread you can't buy, Darabont or no Darabont. But at least we didn't get Garrised.
