Not all STAR WARS fans were disappointed...

in THE PHANTOM MENACE.

Some of us expected a fun popcorn movie and not a religious experience.

I'm talking at you, GroupThink spouting TalkBack fanboys.

If you didn't have fun in TPM, you have no sense of joy left in you.

For all the complaints about wooden acting, bad dialogue, etc...revisit the originals. Listen to Harrison Ford spew technobabble (that he hated the dialogue for). Watch Carrie Fisher in a drug-induced stupor. Or, watch any of the many Imperial officers overacting their jackboots off. Sorry, kids. All of the flaws in the prequels are in the original trilogy. I still love both. What's your problem?

...Actually, it sounds like the same lame concept that didn't work for Detroit Rock City, Thunderstruck and nearly all post-modern "friends-on-a-roadtrip" flicks. This is a glorified DTV.
All the flaws are in the OT

but for all those flaws, the OT didn't have some fuck retard alien sidekick or the world's most grating 12 year old for a hero. (No, Chewie does not count as a fuck retard alien, because he's a growlin' alien BADASS. If Jar Jar could rip people's arms out of thier sockets, maybe he might have been useful.) Sure, it's fun at parts. But good god DAMN, every time that fuck kid is on screen I want to slit my wrists to block out the stabbing sensation his voice creates in my brain. Just one man's opinion. Fanboys looks pretty geektastic. KRISTEN BELL. Need I say more?

I was kinda looking forward to this. Now that I know it's repetitive and condescending, I'll probably hate it. Holding out for a wide release? Why? So they can publicize the hell out of a movie about Star Wars geeks? I hate to actually quote the movie here, but I've got a bad feeling about this.
I'm tired of hering about JAR JAR

Yes he was a horrible character, but if you do remember he does eventually fit a purpose. And TPM was built up for so long it had know chance of being seen as a great movie. As far as fanboys, I think it will be pretty good, I like what I've seen of it so far. Though I am going to be realistic and say I don't expect it to blow anybody away.
On the Star Wars movies, I agree with some of you guys,

to a point. The way I see it, the Star Wars series has one brilliant, just about flawless film which I love unconditionally (Empire), and five flawed films with various pros and cons but which I love anyway.

Yes I am. Drumroll, please. Star Wars sucks, fellas, and all you Star Wars fanboys give geeks a bad name. What a boring universe. Who gives a shit about Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Jabba, Wookie, CP, etc. That shit was cool back in 1977. Give it up already. Enough with the conventions and the costumes and the constant references. It's as if every one of you has been brainwashed by this galactic cult. Sure Star Wars was a technological feat and a revolutionary breakthrough in filmmaking back in the day, but those prequels were a shameless ploy to make money off three superior films that half the country's male population has become obsessed with. Fellas, there are far better movies to get dressed up for and go to conventions for. I'll throw some Crow makeup on and you guys can come dressed as Tin Tin, Skank, T-Bird, Top Dollar and Bai Ling and we'll have ourselves a big Crow convention. That'd be 100 times cooler than a bunch of Storm Troopers and fake ears and ridiculous hair and lightsabers. The Force was with Brandon Lee, not Mark Harmon gang. Sorry to break it to you, but y'all need to move on and grow up.

You either know very little of the trivia surrounding SW, or just trying to get someone's goat but, fake ears??? Mark HARMON??? Is that Tester's model glue that yer sniffin'?

THE CROW???

Goth-wanna-be, emo???

The first one had some interesting trivia points, but the movie itself bit hard.

We are all entitled to our opinion, but let's just agree to disagree.

I aint never gonna dress up at a SW or Trek convention. Ever. Hell, I may never even GO to one ever.

But that doesn't mean I'm ever going to grow up. Or for that matter stop liking sci-fi and everything that it can do- flawed prequel trilogies and all.

I'm not sure why you equate dressing up with growing up (or not growing up) but I assure you, those two spheres are mutually exclusive.

It looks like trekkies get a raw deal in this film, the irony of Star Wars fans beating on Star Trek fans is so thick you could use it for a bean bag. It also says something about the filmmakers that they are some out of touch with what it means to be a fanboy. I mean.... I'm a fan boy (at least i think i fit the profile) and I see no competition of ST & SW....

When it comes time to have a child and have him/her grow up to the age of Star wars age watching, should i show them the Original trilogy first or should i show it chronologically?
AOTC was fucking shit

but better than TPM.

MiraJeff is right- it is time to let it go. Lucas has ruined it through those piss poor prequels, not to mention the absolute fucking crime of cutting and pasting Hayden cantactforshitssen into ROTJ.

the original trilogy and forget the prequels exist. What a horrid thing to threaten a child with- by the time he reaches the OT he will hate it as a matter of principal.
Yep, could have guessed it. FANBOYS will suck.

I have a 7 year old son and a three year old son and I showed my oldest the series in order from I to VI, and he loved it. By the time he got to A New Hope he couldn't wait to see Luke take on his father's role as a Jedi. While for myself I would have preferred no Episode I and II but just a 3 hour Lotr style Episode III for him it was the series as it was meant to be ... in order and he can't get enough of Star Wars now. On another note, My father took me to a drive in theater to see A New Hope in May of 77 and on opening night I took my father and my son to see Revenge of the Sith. What a great feeling. And yeah I couldn't resist the urge to say to my dad.."The Circle is now complete" lol. Fanboys should be a cool flick just don't get too worked up over it people its just a comedy for fanboys like us, it's not going to save the world or end it for that matter.
The really funny thing about this is...
by brotherhalo

... that the people who really rag on the Prequels bothered to watch it and can nitpick each and every little detail that they hated. Which goes to show that they cared enough to remember those minute details.
