I just re-watched Little Miss Sunshine today, and it's fine if people have a problem with that movie, but Carell's performance in it is just incredible in my opinion, and it really is a shame he's not nominated. And yeah, I was blown away by Babel, and if The Departed wasn't in this, I'd be rooting for that one all the way. I would love for Rinko to win so, so much, but with Adriana nominated from Babel as well, the votes will probably be split. The love for Little Children is also nice, but for DiCaprio to be up for Blood Diamond, but not Departed is just crazy.

It's a crime that The Prestige wasn't nominated for best picture, best actor (Jackman or Bale), best direction, or best adapted screenplay! It's one of the best films I've ever seen, and only continues to justify why the Oscars don't mean shit to me anymore. Of course, Daniel Craig deserved an acting nom, but the Academy are just a bunch of dumbfucks that usually bend to popular opinion. It didn't help that something so low-brow as Norbit was out and Eddie Murphy doesn't do publicity, so he doesn't kiss enough ass to get awards. What's with people putting their Oscars on the ground? Seems so tacky...aren't they coordinated enough to hold it and a piece of paper for their speech? That Letters From Iwo Jima sound guy gave the most slow and boring speech I've ever heard, ugh.
