I read the quote 'a version of the John Carpenter original theme but in the Rob Zombie aesthetic' and it makes me imagine the classic theme but done with horrible industrial guitars and some asshole screaming over the top of it. Ugh. Besides, everyone knows the only acceptable reworking of the plinky-plink Halloween score is The Tower by Ice-T.

I'm just glad I was a kid growing up in the 70's and 80's when we were getting fresh, new, great original movies - unlike the kids of today who get handed crappy fourth-rate remakes of the films we got as kids.

Please keep up the articles and interviews. I also feel that they are a high point of AICN. Have you ever thought of doing some "retro" reviews of famous or influential scores from older films? Or maybe profiles/retrospectives of composers who're no longer with us? Might make for some nice fill-in material between interviews...

Leonidas and the 300 are marching to certain death, and they know it, and if the film's even remotely like the book it'll make it pretty clear from pretty early on. I mean, even with the most awesome warriors in history, the perfect bottleneck, and gallons of testosterone, there's only one way a fight between 300 guys and around 1 MILLION guys is gonna end. And that's kinda the whole point, because they go anyway.

I wasn't familar with the graphic novel and yet I still knew what happened in the end because it is still based on historical record. But a spoiler is still a spoiler and you're right. It should've come with a warning. Sorry about that. And as far as my articles go I'd LOVE to review some "retro" and influential scores however the list of articles I would love to write far outweigh the time I have to write them. It's a great idea though and would definitely mix things up a bit. Thanks for the suggestion.
