I was never a fan of the original, but this may have potential if they avoid the camp factor that the original had. SHe's cute. Is she any good as an actor?

Lindsay Wagner can ACT. Remember the Bionic Woman happened because she was such a hit guest starring on Six Mil that they had to bring her back from the dead and give her her own show. If they'd planned a spin-off they wouldn't have killed her! It's the memory of how good and believable Lindsay Wagner was that's why Bionic Woman is being revived but nobody's talking about bringing back Six Mil, except as a comedy. AND WHERE ARE THE DVDS. I figure they're holding the DVDs until they can release them as part of the promotion of the new show, kind of like they did with BSG TOS DVDs. If a new show sucks but causes Lindsay Wagner DVDs to come out, then I'm all for it because I don't have to watch the new show.

the answer is no. not anymore. There was time when they had strong characters like den and ang, but with the demise of Pauline Fowler, that has come to end. It has become horrible to watch(the jane and ian story was embarrasing and painful to watch as was the scenario in scotland with golfing trip. I know awful adam woodyat feels they wont let him leave), it is a joke and for some reason the bbc seems reluctant to slaughter is dying cash cow. to pinpoint where the show demised you have to look at the decision to bring back john yorke. Yorke is fully responsible for the debacle that eastenders has become. The first big story was the Carnival disaster. laughable. utterly laughable. Yorke said he was going to set up an acting and writing academy. This has not improved anything. Then there were that disasterous plot involving a muslim family and they were all terrible actors and they were moved fairly sharpish. There was dreadful billy/honey/petal story. Albert squares resident dimwit billy mitchell and his utterly dim wife Honey announce they are going to have a family and they name the kid petal, but the poor child has DS. the writers fucked that story up completely. then there is Albert square's most annoying family ever. they are black, nothing wrong with that at all. from nowhere up pops Denise abusive husband, who kidnaps their daughter. Even the who shot phill mitchell story was dreadful. I am not suprised that wendy richard wanted to leave. All her family have left home and one son died of aids. Martin is so thick a character, you wouldnt believe and even the way they tried to turn Sonia gay was cack-handed. I cant understand why the beeb deosnt just cuts its losses and kill this awful program. Byt the way if you dont know who killed Pauline on christmas day, look away know. Ray!

Its fine. What could possibly be wrong with remaking Bionic woman? Its basically Buffy / DarkAngel / Alias. It will succeed or fail based on the details. The superpowered girl heroine is now a bona fide genre folks. Nothing wrong with keeping it going. We like it. Oh - and don't come in here demanding that it be ANYTHING like the original. This is one of those concepts that they should feel free to completely reinvent. There is nothing special about the last one. Keep the stuff, don't keep the stuff. For once, writers, do whatever you think is best.

Sure, she looks young and cute and bubbly, but it's not like anyone actually expected Hollywood to cast a dog-looking lead. Of course being young 22-something (as opposed to a more mature 32-something ADULT) raises the obvious story question WHY would the government would give a crap about spending a zillion dollars to bionicize HER. But, hey, I guess we'll learn that answer in the pilot and I guess I'm now showing my age a bit. I'm sure this will be made and marketed so it completely plays to the youth market, so maybe the way she gets funded is her fellow castmates at Beverly Hills Bionic 90210 hold a Hollywood fundraiser to generate the cash or maybe the story hook will be that her best friend's dad is a studio exec who gives her the millions to be bionicized by juggling the production company's books. Basically I have to say I'm not really thrilled to see a Bionic Woman TELEVISION show come along if it means it will be done so-so (ie. typical TV budget) and thus generate lukewarm rating, the end effect being that it kills any shot of a bigger budgeted $6 Million Dollar Man FEATURE FILM finally getting made. Basically I agree with others here. The only reason there ever was a BIONIC WOMAN show to begin with was because (1) $6M MAN was such a hit that ABC thought it could milk the property, but far more importantly (2) Lindsay Wagner made such an impact as a guest star on the show and as an actress/personality in the role that the fans WANTED to see her get a spin-off. So doing a BIONIC WOMAN show was warranted back then versus here it just feels like they're trying to reverse engineer demand for it. Frankly, it goes back to my earlier point. I just think far, far more people would rather see a big budget, kick-ass $6 MILLION MAN movie on the big screen FIRST and then take things from there...
