I loved the crappy Commodore 64 Ghostbusters game back in '84 and like a lot of people would love to see a brand new game come out. The Zootfly rumors were cool but without having the rights, it was still nothing but rumor. Now it looks like there is some hope because Dan Ayckroyd himself has mentioned in a recent interview that he is going to be doing some motion capture for a Ghostbusters game next year... http://www.edmontonsun.com/Ent ertainment/Weekend/2007/02/02/ 3506287-sun.html

www.joinrudy2008.com Name Contact: Rudy and the Republican Nomination New York, Feb 2 - To: Team Rudy From: Brent Seaborn, Strategy Director Date: February 2, 2007 Re: Rudy and the Republican Nomination Over the last month or two there has been a good deal of public opinion polling on the 2008 Republican primary race. I thought it would be helpful to take a step back and take a closer look at how voters – particularly Republican primary voters – feel about Rudy Giuliani and why we think we are well-positioned heading in to the primary season. Americans Have a Highly Favorable Opinion of Mayor Giuliani Entering the 2008 primary season, Rudy Giuliani is uniquely positioned among potential Republican candidates because of his extremely high favorability ratings. Recent public opinion polling shows Mayor Giuliani with 61% approval among adults across the country – according to the ABC News/Washington Post poll (Jan. 16-19, 2007). The well respected, bipartisan Battleground Poll (Jan 8-11, 2007) shows the Mayor with 65% favorability among likely voters. More importantly, Mayor Giuliani shows an 81% favorable rating among Republicans and only 10% with an unfavorable opinion. According to the Battleground poll, Mayor Giuliani also has surprisingly high favorability ratings beyond the base: 70% of independents are favorable, 70% of 35-44 year olds, 74% of married women, 73% of households married with children, 52% of minority voters The Mayor also enjoys strong approval among white evangelical Christians (76%) and self-described conservative Republicans (82%). In an even more recent poll, Gallup (Jan. 25-28, 2007) finds Mayor Giuliani also leads among Republicans on 7 of 10 key issues including terrorism, the economy, healthcare and fighting crime. He also leads on 11 of 15 key candidate attributes – including “better understands the problems faced by ordinary Americans”, “would manage government more effectively” and what I believe to be the single most important factor – “is the stronger leader.” In sum, while we fully expect these polls to tighten in the months and weeks to come, Republican voters genuinely know and like Rudy Giuliani. The Mayor Performs Well in Opinion Polls The Mayor’s exceptionally strong approval ratings also translate in to an advantage on Republican primary ballot tests. In 11 of 13 ballot tests in respected national public opinion polls [Fox News, Newsweek, Time Gallup, CNN, NBC/Wall Street Journal, ABC/Washington Post] since last November, Mayor Giuliani has a lead – in fact, his lead is on average, more than 5-points over the next closest candidate. And his ballot strength began to trend upward after the 2006 midterm elections. Mayor Giuliani Leads in Key 2008 Primary States Mayor Giuliani also leads in a series of other states that will likely prove critical in the 2008 Republican primary: State Mayor Giuliani Closest Competitor Source California 33% 19% (Gingrich) ARG - Jan. 11-17 Florida 30% 16% (Gingrich) ARG - Jan. 4-9 Illinois 33% 24% (McCain) ARG - Jan. 11-14 Michigan 34% 24% (McCain) ARG - Jan. 4-7 Nevada 31% 25% (McCain) ARG - Dec. 19-23, ‘06 New Jersey 39% 21% (McCain) Quinnipiac – Jan. 16-22 North Carolina 34% 26% (McCain) ARG - Jan. 11-15 Ohio 30% 22% (McCain) Quinnipiac - Jan. 23-28 Pennsylvania 35% 25% (McCain) ARG Jan. 4-8 Texas 28% 26% (McCain) Baselice Jan. 17-21 Conclusion Recent polling continues to suggest Mayor Giuliani is very well positioned within the party – particularly when compared to other potential Republican candidates – to win the nomination. Mayor Giuliani’s favorable public opinion stems not only from his extraordinary leadership in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and in the uncertainty that followed, but also from a remarkably strong record of accomplishments in fighting crime and turning around New York City’s economy in the 1990’s. Americans are anxious for fresh Republican leadership on a range of issues. Our voters are drawn to the leadership strength of a candidate during an election. Therefore, as we move forward with exploring a run for President and as we continue to share the Mayor’s story of strong leadership and Reagan-like optimism and vision, we hope to see continued growth in our foundation of support.

I've worked at Sony in development for nearly five years and any employee/guest can see the real Ecto-1 on the Sony backlot in the transportation department area (and sometimes next to the Capra building). It's often next to the Charlie's Angels race car. I have seen it on a regular basis. NOW, There were possibly two or three ectos for production... I have Sony contacts checking on that right now. There was a guy in Rocky River, Ohio who at last check owned the Ecto-1, or a good facsimile thereof. I know cuz I saw it in person there. My point is, this car (the one for sale) is probably another replica--one of many. I have no reason to doubt that the authentic car used in the films is "collecting rust" on a backlot.

Three cars have played the vehicle in the movies, the third 1959 Miller-Meteor was purchased after the second died during shooting of Ghostbusters II. The black Miller-Meteor seen at the beginning of the first movie was leased and used only for that scene and never converted. Later this car was purchased by the studio and completely converted to a full Ecto-1 for touring. It now resides in a car museum in Volo, Illinois, and is for sale. Both (the other?) Ectomobiles are currently sitting in a Sony pictures studios backlot in a rapidly deteriorating condition, the Ecto 1a having served as an attraction at the Universal studios "Spooktackular" stage show.

have been popping up in every talkback by everyone. Pressing the 'backspace' key while the blinking vertical line is directly in front of the space can resolve that problem. And according to Wiki (which, as we all know, is never EVER wrong) the Ill. car is the one for sale. So if it didn't drive before, it should now. What I want is a working Ecto-2. Flying ghost catching motorcycle = way cooler than flames on Ghostrider. I don't know what that means either.

Perhaps Sony's decided to do something about the "deteriorating condition" of at least one of their Ectos (Ectoi?). Driving on Ocean Park (West of Bundy) in Santa Monica there's this auto body shop that had a crappy-condition Ecto for the longest time. Then the other day I noticed it was in showroom shape again! (I'll post pics if so requested) I wonder if Sony's prepping these things for something special...but the one in Illinois is likely a replica. Probably won't even drive.

This is not a Ghostbusters screen-used Ecto-1. A lot of cars that come from "The George Barris Collection" are replicas that he builds, yet Barris continues to try passing off his replicas as the real deal. He tried the same thing with the Back to the Future DeLorean a few years back, but it wasn't until producer Bob Gale shut him up about it. (Watch here: http://www.bttf.com/video/barr is.mov) DON'T TRUST ANY CARS THAT COME FROM GEORGE BARRIS THAT CLAIM TO BE THE REAL DEAL!!!

I dread another GB film, because it would be all "GB3: Busted AGAIN!" and co-star Snoop-Dogg or whatever (also doing the theme, "Who Ya Gonna Call: Them Digits on the Cell (2007 Style)?" Bill Murray would do a walk-on, phone in a performance, beg to be taken seriously, collect his check and leave the set. Dan Akroyd would crow about his O'Hare UFO footage, and Rick Moranis would channel The Great White North. Meanwhile, guest star Jessica Simpson gets drunk and blows the director.

Hey, update. Had a contact at Sony check this out. It is NOT the real Ecto-1. So this ad is 100% BS. But Sony Transpo said "hey, this one looks a hell of a lot better than the REAL Ecto". lol. Anyway, maybe three years back, the Ecto 1 (real one at sony) was given a slight makeover and then put back onto the backlot. This was right before the latest Ghostbusters DVD release if memory serves. Not sure if it was related to that or if Sony just wanted to have a look better for guests. Despite the makeover, it still looks a bit beat up... but cool as hell. I'd maybe pay half the price that ad is offering... if that. It does LOOK good, but it is NOT the legit Ecto.

The Bricklin was a cool 1970's gull-wing sportscar from Canada, and one also appeared in the movie "Demon Seed". I see one every blue moon in Santa Monica. The upside of getting a DeLorean is that they have Volvo engines, and can easily be serviced.

I could be wrong but my understanding was always that there were two cars -- The First was the Primered beater that "Ray" finds and pulls up with The Second was the fully painted and loaded Ecto -1 Car Obviously because of filming they didn't stop and paint the car -they had the two separate cars. Then when the 2nd movie began they took the First car and made it the Ecto-1A with the Caution Stripping and the big tank on the back -- all the additions While the Second Car was just made to look dirty and rundown for the Opening sequence of Ghostbusters 2 I can say that there was a time recently when the Ecto-1A was at Universal Orlando .. it was THE car . Its since been hidden away somewhere and there are rumors of it being sold - as far as the Ecto-1 Its self I have no idea where it wound up - i know Universal has a fairly accurate replica they used to use in the shows - but that doesn't drive around the park anymore either. I dont know the history of this car - but just looking at it I didn't think this was one of the screen used cars.

...it really sad that they can let a icon like the Ecto-1 get into such a state (from the pic's). If they didn't care enough to protect it like it should be protected why not sell it to a fan??? Why do they let these cars fall into disrepair????? Frack, I will buy it and repair it to it's former glory. I will definitely be the only one in South Africa to drive around in a Ecto-1! Sweeeeeet!!!
I'll put a flux capacitor on Ecto-1

I wish Sony would have made them a deal to port what they were working on to be a PS3 exclusive. Unfortunately, it appears that Sony licensed the game rights already to Vivendi Universal's gaming division (stupid!). What a lack of foresight...just imagine what it would be like if the Zootfly game debuted on the PS3 (and PSP) at the same time the original Ghostbusters movies appeared on Blu-ray. As for the CGI based Ghostbusters sequel...they better hire JMS to write it. His work was great on the cartoon in his pre-Babylon5 days.

Ever been to a Sci-Fi or Comic Con? See them big-boobied, tattooed, multi-color hair, pierced chicks with voluptuous, child-bearing hips? The amazons with the Betty Page haircuts and anime t-shirts?

Them and Goth Girls will give it up for a Ghostbuster.

They will be slimed in that ride.

I just got off the phone with SONY...
