I resent all these bastards that have seen it already. There was a screening with a Q&A with Pegg and Wright in Glasgow last night but I couldn't get a ticket.

I feel sorry for myself...

Very excited about this

I just rewatched Shaun Of The Dead the other night and had forgotten how funny it was. Pretty much anything Nick Frost does makes me laugh until I cry.

Point Break is more than referenced, they actuallys sit down and watch it setting up a class joke later in the film!

One thing I forgot to mention on my above review, my girlfriend isn't a huge SOTD fan, and she got bored when I tried to make her watch Spaced, but she really enjoyed this!
they obviously saw a different film to me.

I know everyone has different opinions tastes on films and that but how could you be disappointed by this? It was better than I was expecting. If your a fan of any of the actors previous work you will love this.

Also another english film using the word cunt to great effect. Whenever I hear that word used in a Hollywood film it seems forced and not natural.

The man is a comic genius. Everyone gushes over Gervais but Mr Pegg is the man, and a decent actor to boot. Remember the scene from SOTD when he realised his stepdad wasn't such a dick after all? And when his Mum was dying? Great emotion and great acting, unlike Gervais who always seems to fall back into "Office" territory. Anyway, this looks great and will surely be one of the films of the year. Spiderman 3??? Pffffff.

I love LOVE SotD, and I'm fan of all the actors in this (besides Steve Coogan), but the film is too long and just plain not funny enough. It's more like the Comic Strip from the 80s. SotD is a properly well made, cinematic film. This is just a comedy sketch. I liked it, but I was disappointed given the potential SotD showed. I thought parts were fantastic (namely anything with Nick Frost and Paddy Considine), but the whole is far less than the sum of its parts.

Thats fair enough, but to me I just found it strange seeing as your a fan of their work. I have loved everything Simon Pegg has done. and Bill Bailey is a comic god. he can make me laugh by just moving his eyes.

This site used to be for geeks who got the new first. Everyone else followed. Now wee have lazy ass site owners merely happy to get to see things before everyone else, meets the talent and revel in the fact that they are now part of the "in crowd" than to give us the news. Fucking embargo. Dick sucking more like. This site has really gone smeg up. It's all cunting arse licks.

mind how snotty this site has become. Not in an elietist way. but it has be come snotty none the less. I like films, all films, with obvious exceptions, like snuff movies. which are ilegal. I see films regardless of what kind thrashing. I find it is better to make up your own mind. I rented out DOA, dead or alive. I wasnt a huge fan of SOTD. I thought it was mediocre, witty in places. British films have this WE ARE ALL FUCKING BRILLIANT" Media badge that they wear and shaun was no different. Uk media loved Shaun of the Dead but I know of people who thought it was that great. I will see hot fuzz. and get back to ya!

Me too. But I'm quite a purist about movies. This just doesn't feel like a film to me. I'll probably enjoy it more on a second viewing, but the first time round left me a bit cold, whereas SotD was an instant classic.

"Please, sir...May I discuss your delightful HOT FUZZ film? I'll be ever so positive about it if you continue to grant me advance screenings for your future projects?"

"Ennh, shaddup you! You'll talk when WE say you'll talk and not before, see? Nyah! Now, bend over for me...Thaaaaaat's it."

Why must they always overhype everything?

I'm sure this film will be good. Not great. Good. Much like Shawn of the Dead. And if we were left to discover it on our own, we might be pleasantly surprised. But the hype is now so overblown that unless it's on par with Dr. Strangelove, it can only be seen as a disappointment. Much like every other movie this site hypes until they're blue in the face. Smokin' Aces, anyone?

As a consistent moviegoer, I've learned to separate hype from reality. Hype doesn't exist, guys. It's something fantastical that normal moviegoers fall prey to, yet it's something we should be better at. Come one, do you have the balls to be greater than average? i know ya do.

the deal was sealed for me seeing this movie when ol-king-kol mentioned Supergrass being on the soundtrack, I got to hang out with Liv Tyler, yeah that Liv Tyler, last time I saw Supergrass live. Got to rub elbows with Liv and the band after the show. Found out Liv is the godmother to one of Dan Goffey's kids (Dan Goffey = Supergrass drummer). For those of you who think Simon Pegg is a comedic genius you should check out "Big Train" if you haven't already. I think some of his best work was done on that sketch comedy show.
