Don't get me wrong...I'm a die hard Lostie...I am still (relatively) excited about each new eppy...but my patience is also wearing thin. The snail's pace...the lack of attention on some of my fave character's this season...did we really need a SECOND island? Somethin's gotta give here Cuse & Lindeloff!! We now know Lost will end around Season 7. We are getting to the half way point of the series...and we are no closer to finding out what the hell this Dharma bunch want with these damn castaways!! I'm confident TPTB have and end game here...but if season's 4 - 6 are just more of this lame vamping...I'm not gonna be there to see the "big payoff". 24 has passed Lost as my favorite drama on TV...Partly because the writers have found a way to shock the hell outta me at a moment's notice (Jack kills Curtis? Jack has a brother from RoboCop?)...and give me enough answers to the mysteries to keep me coming back for more. I hope Season 3 of Lost picks up speed after this insufferably long break...cuz...I've got this fail safe key in my hand...and I'm not afraid to use it!!!

As for Lost, is it just me, or do producers of other serial shows now go out of there way in interviews to stress that their own shows will have plenty of plot development, perhaps to distance themselves from Lost's negativity affecting their shows, or even a backhanded slap? No matter, shows like Lost, 24 and Heroes are still good TV, though all have glaring flaws.

lol.... yes, "The X-Files" sucked after David Duchovny left. But the first 7.5 seasons of The X-Files remain some of the most well written, most solid television I've ever seen. Also, with the exception of the Mulderless Season 9, the X-Files writers did answer every question regarding the X-Files mythology, if you actually watched all the episodes and payed attention. Likewise, "LOST" continues to exhibit some of the best writing I've seen on TV to date. Now, for some tiring writing, how about 24 + Kim Bauer + cougars + repetitious Jack killing terrorists in LA (AGAIN!) storylines. Or Prison Break + ROFL T-Bag gets his had sewed on by a vet. Or BSG + Lee + Starbuck + Dee + Anders love triangle Zzzzzzz.... Granted, I love 24, BSG, and Prison Break, but every series has its weak spots. Yet, LOST has one well written flashback and people start acting like all Hell has broken loose. And, geez, if you idiots pay attention, LOST has done nothing BUT answer questions. We know what was in the Hatch, we know about the quaratine, we know who Boone heard on the radio, we know quite a bit about the French woman, we know why the polar bears are on the island, we know who Henry Gale is.... heck, we pretty much know most of the answer to all of Season 1's questions. Many S2 arcs are unresolved i.e. Desmond's history, Peneleope, and yes, the baby arc and security system from S1 is still a mystery, but we're only 6 eps into S3. And the writers have already said this season will explain The Others motives and offer more of a reveal on Desmond. This show is amazing, if you dont like it shut the beep up and watch crap like CSI: Miami. 4 8 15 16 23 42

"You (hopefully) heard it here first: I’m no longer slated to make Wonder Woman. What? But how? My chest... so tight! Okay, stay calm and I’ll explain as best I can. It’s pretty complicated, so bear with me. I had a take on the film that, well, nobody liked. Hey, not that complicated. Let me stress first that everybody at the studio and Silver Pictures were cool and professional. We just saw different movies, and at the price range this kind of movie hangs in, that’s never gonna work. Non-sympatico. It happens all the time. I don’t think any of us expected it to this time, but it did. Everybody knows how long I was taking, what a struggle that script was, and though I felt good about what I was coming up with, it was never gonna be a simple slam-dunk. I like to think it rolled around the rim a little bit, but others may have differing views. The worst thing that can happen in this scenario is that the studio just keeps hammering out changes and the writer falls into a horrible limbo of development. These guys had the clarity and grace to skip that part. So I’m a free man. Well, sorta. There is that "Goners" movie I can finally finish polishing, and plenty of other things in the hopper I’ve wanted to pursue. I’m as relieved as I am disappointed, and both of those things lead to drink, so that’s a plus. Truly, you may be hearing some interesting things brewing in the coming months. But all potential jets therein will be visible. But most importantly, I never have to answer THAT question again!!!! And you don’t have to link to every rumor site! Finally and forever: I never had an actress picked out, or even a consistant front-runner. I didn’t have time to waste on casting when I was so busy air-balling on the script. (No! Rim! There was rim!) That’s the greatest relief of all. I can do interviews again! Thanks for your time. You are the people who make the world go ’round. You are correct...Lost CANNOT run long in it's new 10pm time slot. ABC is forbidden to infringe of their affiliates 11pm newscasts. But I think the only reason Lost was permitted to run 5 mins over...was to create flow into what ever crappy show was on AFTER Lost..(Invasion...Daybreak...e tc)....Then those shows had to trim their running time by 5 minutes. Lost running long was always a flow strategy by ABC....And I wouldn't count on them starting it 5 mins early either.

JJ and Lindelof happened to come up with a great concept and made a truly unique show. But this whole thing started out as business people, meaning that ABC is calling the shots and wanting LOST to probably go on as long as possible. BUT, the damm writers have been doing their very best to try and assure us that they understand this dilemma. Lost would be great if it were doing 13 episode runs on HBO or FX, but this is ABC. We are lucky to have a show like Lost when you look at the reality of the situation.

None of the information in that article you posted is new. They've stated Black Donnellys is taking over, and they're not sure when the remaining Studio 60 episodes will air at least a month ago. Sure, it's not great news, but it's not some recent development that the show is any closer to cancellation than it was before. A lot of the likelihood of it returning will be based on how well The Black Donnellys does in it's time slot. Now, to be on topic....I'm glad Cuse wrote this episode, and also Rodrigo Santoro did an interview revealing he'll be gone by the end of the season, which makes me wonder why they even introduced such a useless character to begin with.

As a matter of fact I love that the dynamic between the Petrelli bros hinges on the fact that one of them wants to talk about and explore his powers while the other who is seen as a baddie is the guy who represses everything and wants to deny that something is not quite right! ...and the ensemble cast is still doing a great job (when they appear) but I'm not expecting much anymore. Yeah, some questions have been answered (while others surely do seem to have been forgotten) but you know, HOW you answer them is important, too. Good answers in narrative fiction of any form are the ones that in a logical way challenge expectations, that inspire awe, that open up the story to more momentous possibilities. In its pulpy way 24 usually delivers on this. In its sometimes incoherent way so does BSG. In its Sugar Ray Leonard "yeah, I'm going to dance for two minutes, but I'm getting busy in the last thirty seconds of the round" way, so does Heroes. Lost? Not so much, at least so far. Let's look at their answers about the Others. First brush, they're shadowy menacing figures of seemingly preternatural strength who seem almost a living embodiment of the Island's will (Ethan). Second brush, they're wildings, covetous of children, dirty savages who are somehow at the same time capable of science at least as good as anything we can do (Mr. Friendly's boat adventure and Claire having her baby). Third brush, they come in the night to steal people away and they could be anyone (tail section) and probably connected to a giant, alien statue. Now our reveal. They're corporate casual on Gilligan's Island, Sawyer can knock them out for giggles, and they spend their free time arguing over Stephen King books. Yeah, what the answers are counts too. I'm still watching, but I'm not expecting much.

They royally screwed up with the with the really stupid f’d up schedule last year. The person responsible for that mess should be canned. And the fact that they keep introducing new puzzles/mysteries makes it seem like the old questions are never answered when they really are. It’s also a slow moving character driven and not a show for the impatient, young MTV crowd that wants everything resolved yesterday. Though to be honest, having to wait over 24 (36, 48 or more?) months simply to find out the nature of the smoke monster is a little ridiculous. But the story, acting, directing, editing etc still ranks among the top shows on broadcast TV... BSG is still the best show though.

like many others, I'm finding I'm not as excited by it's return as I thought I'd be. It's a quality show with great characters and an intriguing arc storyline... and I am still hooked and enjoying the ride... but there's going to have to be some satisfying revelations and payback at some point this season. I appreciate the bean counters are running the show and the writers are doing a great job at writing entertaining fillers... but PLEASE just try and tie some of these loose threads together because I'm beginning to forget and, dare I say, lose interest. Also, when's Mira Furlan coming back?? She's great and should become a series regular!

The pre-requisite for all shows nowadays seems to be a seven season run regardless of whether the concept will last that long. When you think about how confining the concept of a few castaways on an island can be then we can only expect that, to drag this out to a seven season run, the writers are going to have to chuck in more and more implausible "Surprises" to the point that the thing will implode with its own silliness. There's also a real sense developing that none of the characters does the most sensible thing on this show anymore because that would bring events to a rapid conclusion so the whole thing feels like people doing a "role play" rather than being in a real world. Best thing would be to try and bring the current arc ( if there is one) to an end pronto and then start another. e.g. Prison Break has now moved into what happens outside. This may not work out but at least you'll have half a 7 season run to be proud of rather than a 7 season run tainted by lack of pace and the addition of cheap stunts and behaviour with no sensible motivation.

The BBC had a brilliant show last season called Life on Mars about a 21st Century policeman who travels back to the politically incorrect 70's. It got huge plaudits and a second series was commissioned. Writers, actors and directors have come out and said great but that the next series will be the last because they know how its ending and they are not diluting the impact of that by dragging things on and on. Wonder if the Lost guys have any idea how Lost ends.

I was already starting to get sick of Proffessor Moboring, She-Hulk and the Kenny McCormack storyline with Claire, but once it went up against 24 I was done. I know I can watch Friday nights on Sci-fi, but I haven't remembered to turn it on once. If I hear something really cool happened I may rent the dvd's, but all I got from this show was bad writing, boring characters, forced mythology and uninteresting taglines. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind about what they watch, I'm just saying what I got out of Heroes. In my opinion not one of those is a problem for LOST, which doesn't have me rolling my eyes every week.

was a revelation. The makers of and the Beeb had the balls to pull it off. I cant wait for the second and final series. My favourite bits of it were when he realised he could communicate with his family members through the radio. Stunning, ballsy, outstanding and brilliant. I loved the way in the first ep simms(one of the best actors of his generation) chased a younger version of the guy put him in a coma. 2006 was great year for british telly, although that Polaikof nonsense, That two drama set in the 1980s and the line of beauty were two exceptions. Another great 2006 uk tv moment was seeing england getting knocked of the world. They are not getting any better under mcClaren. if San Marino beats Ireland Steve Staunton is out of a job. Idiots for hiring him.

When the entire first season led up to Walt being kidnapped, the entire second season led to Walt being rescued, and then they just LEFT. Gone. You're getting too damn tall, so we're going to drop your storyline altogether. Now, I'm still waiting for them to prove me wrong by having Walt still on the island in an underground complex having his brain sucked out by Tribbles while Michael actually takes a braindead clone back to reality, and once he realizes it he tracks down Penny Widmore and together they raid Lostie island with some deus ex machina commando shit to save everyone right before the volcano in the center of the island goes kablamo. Yea, I still love Lost, but I'm not all googley-eyed, lovey-dovey, check-the-fuselage-every-30-se conds in love anymore. I guess nothing lasts forever. However, this is NOT due to the slow pace (oh, who am I kidding, yes it is), I have all the time in the world to wait for these mysteries to be solved. Just hope that all these storylines that have been built up won't be dropped along the wayside by the end. Eko, Charlotte (the psychic's daughter), and Claire's baby? Now that Eko left the show (of his own volition, no less), how will they resolve that shit? I have faith... but it's certainly being tested.

I like Lost -- show 5 minutes of plot, surrounded by 20 minutes of treading water, insert 20 minutes of backstory on a character who's gonna die next week, so all we're left with is the 5 minutes of real story and a memory of a character who once mattered. But this season, after an interesting start (We Others are the nice ones: we kidnap children from their parents & we have a noble purpose, youse guys are really evil, because we say so), the development just shows the Others are backwoods evil ("Deliverence" anyone?), over and over again. I await real development... but I'm not excited by this set of spoilers for this episode. I miss the mystery, and am growing annoyed at the false dramatic buildups with no payoff. The writers are forgetting to toss us our occasional bone, and we're gnawing on our own skin...

I watched the first 6 in hopes that some of the flaws of th show would be addressed. I was disappointed. There are by my count four fatal flaws with the show: 1.) Thanks to flashbacks, we the audience know more than any of the characters on the show, thus all the characters seem more and more ignorant in our eyes. On top of this the characters never talk to one another, so they have no way of figuring out what we know. 2.) Thanks to the stretched timeline, only about 2 and a half months have passed on the island, while over two years have passed for us. This means the characters cant change or grow at the same rate as the show's audience. 3.) The producer's obsession with introducing more and more mysteries without solving the old ones is making many viewers question whether or not the producers know what they are doing. 4.) And the biggest one I hope would be addressed in this block of 6 is the establishment of "rules" regarding the island. There seems to be some hope of this. Ben seems to know practically everything about everyone, and it is possible he may be controlling the "monster" as well. This is good as it establishes Ben as either the "big bad" or he is controlled by the "big bad". Either way it establishes a rule. Without rules regarding the island, the show can't establish conflicts based on anything more than ignorance. If there is a "plan" then like every plot, it would have three acts: 1)Introduce the characters, 2)set up the conflict, 3)resolve the conflict. The show needs to move on to Act 2 of the show's arc.

They want to come and poke fun at it because they feel betrayed because they put three years into a show that tricked them into thinking it was going somewhere. Battlestar Galactica has been on for the same amount of time as Lost and, while there are still major mysteries left, has revealed enough so that I have no doubt that they aren't making the shit up as they go along. I pegged Lost as another Twin Peaks (strange for the sake of strange) back in the last quarter of season one and nothing has happened to change my mind. And, for Ashok0, I skipped through all the flashback scenes of Kate in that last episode and ended up watching Lost for a total of 20 minutes. The show certainly is not flashback-lite.

This season, Kate and Sawyer are being held in a zoo of some sort and apparently there are two islands now. It is a difficult situation. And the responsibility rests on me." "America needs to be assured that we know what we are doing. The goal has always been to have a beginning, middle, and end. But we can't just end now. That would result in this show being a failure, and a failure is unacceptable." Cuse then announced his controversial plan. "That is why I am announcing the creation of twenty new characters. These characters will tie up loose ends, answer questions, and clarify meanings," Cuse said. "Some may wonder how these characters will succeed where previous efforts have failed. The Others, who weren't really the Others but turned out to be from another section of the plane (except for the people from that group who were indeed Others) tended to annoy and bring a negative dynamic to the cast. I'm a bit behind watching this season so is this a new revealation this week or a past episode. It would be good to have Losties back together soon. But I am glad we're gonna get some answers. Season 2 was great while it was happening, but it was mostly about bringing the taillies into the story and changing the group dynamic for the rest of the Losties. Then by the middle of season 3 they killed all the taillies (except Bernard, who barely gets anything to do anyway), so in this series that supposed to reveal these big mysteries and have this series arc, it was just a little annoying to find out that the bulk of season 2 was just a big tease. Sure, we had some important plot developments that continue to count, but all the time they spent building the tail characters and how their introduction effected the established cast, it seems mostly undone. It made me feel a little ripped off and very annoyed. So my biggest problem

What exactly happened in Series 2, that really had any major relevance to series 3 and couldn't have been summed up in 2 or 3 episodes? Anyone?...didn't think so. The Swan hatch seems to have come and gone without incident, pretty much all the tailies are dead, and I don't think we should've had to sit through 23 episodes just to get desmond and be introduced to the others. That's why Lost is really starting to try my patience.
