Yeah, this definately sounds like King's Cell with a TV signal instead of one over cell phones. I wonder what will come of that, if anything. Isn't Eli Roth supposed to be directing the movie version of it? If this movie catches and takes off over here, I wonder what that will do to the Cell motion picture.

I love King books, got em all. Cell was a mixed bag for me. Mostly excellent with a dash of "Thats so shit" thrown in. But then, thats most of his stories from time to time. The greatness just outweighs the shit 10 to 1. This movie, sounds like it 'borrows' i.e. steals directly from Cell and other sources, hell, it sounds partially like Cigarette Burns to a degree... But I'll see it, I won't hold it against it, because as far as Cell goes, I believe they're not going to go for the advanced human with telekenetic powers angle King went for and are aiming for a pure zombie one... ugh.

Apparently this wrapped 3 weeks before CELL was published and besides, Warren Ellis did a similar storyline in GLOBAL FREQUENCY 4 years ago. It was the second issue I think

I'm pretty excited. I've been waiting for the next generation of great genre film directors for quite a while now. But then... these guys are doing horror...what I really want is a Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner era) or another Jim Cameron type. Still, I'm very interested in seeing this now. Aronofsky gives me a glimmer of hope at least.

Thanks for writing about the actual film. It's exciting to come across what look like real talents. That's not easy in the film industry. I might look for this of it ever gets released, but you still have to be wary. It might have been one of those wonderful accidents, not to be repeated.

Whoever tried to say that Roth was the saviour for the horror genre is insane. Hopefully these guys are the real deal.
