I like the idea of Michael Myers having had a perfectly normal pleasant childhood, so there's no explanation or reason for his behaviour. All that stuff about being abused by the step-father was weak. Keeping Myers scary is obviously the number one priority in a film like this.

02:21:54 AM
The director's compass was clearly off here. Quint may have pointed him in the right direction. I still think Mr. Zombie knows what made the original Halloween great. In my 25 Years of Terror DVD, the man sounded like a Carpenter disciple. Your critique centered on the mistake of demystifying Myers. That point will go a long way in determining the quality of the new film. The Shape's menace was never tangible, and never predictable. Only the terror he invoked could be measured. This new development is very encouraging. Perhaps making a good film IS the priority. Being a smart man, Rob hopefully will choose the road less traveled in the crowded highway of subpar horror remakes.

I have nothing but faith in you. Even the rough draft sounded great save one minor detail: Reimagining, remake, sequal, whatever, Michael Myers did NOT become what he became due to abusive parents or bullies. Just doesn't work that way. So please don't go down that route. Other than that, I think it all sounds rad, a worthy upgrade to a perfect film. And if this rewrite stuff is true, please, PLEASE don't lose the gratuitous nudity I've been hearing about. Modern horror is just a big tease when it comes to the goods. Yeah, Zombie'll never read this, but it makes me feel good to vent. That is all.

but that script sounded like a mistake. I've always thought that what made the original scary is that it's *suburban* horror. It happens in the most mundane place for no apparent reason. Myers is from a regular home but he was born without a "soul". The only way he know how to affect the world is through hurting people. Thats what made the original work so well. To me it just robs the concept of it effectiveness with Myers as an abused red neck with a body builder physique. I think Zombie can make this his own without recasting Devil's Rejects in the Halloween mold, he's just gotta dig a bit deeper into the 'ol gray matter.

Rob Zombie can have as much violence as he wants in his films, but he seriously needs to hire someone who can write. Although his previous two movies looked good on a technical level, the scripts were so hackneyed and trite. People accuse Tarantino of ripping off other people's work, but just listen to that Elvis speech the cop gives in Devil's Rejects. It's taken straight out of True Romance.

It could be anything, e.g., insurance, accounting, catering. However, I do like the thought that the feedback here helped move Zombie and/or the IP holders in the right direction. I want him to succeed -- otherwise I wouldn't have said anything, and people are clearly passionate about Halloween, but it's also clear that people interested in it are sophisticated enough to understand the premise and what makes it scary. I bet I'm not the only one of you who has written his own Halloween script.

I'm hoping those who say that 'AICN helped Zombie change his mind' are joking, I really do. Zombie DOES have talent, though he's 1 and 1 right now; Corpses was brilliant, but Rejects was flat out boring. He's like Shymalan--direct someone else's material. Zombie should have more self-respect than to do a remake; no matter what he does, how he makes it, how good it is, it will be one thing, and one thing ONLY--a REMAKE. People here can say 'oh, it's wrong, it's right, don't cast this, don't cast that' all they want. IT's a REMAKE....period Zombie should keep trying to improve his game doing original ideas.

Do what the "Dawn of the Dead" remake did. Just make a faster paced, audience pleasing remake with better stalk and slash chases, better kills, a better final act between Laurie and The Shape that is more action horror than horror, and leave the original creepy ending. Do Not Make Michael 6'5 and 280. If anything, he should be tall but not built like a Wrestler. Then the whole essence of how Michael was creepy and could hide anywhere is gone because I dunno about you, but I can notice a 6'5 280 beast hiding in my closet. And the emotionless Myers who is just plain evil works better anyway than a retard who jerked off to pics of animals. No one wants to sit down to watch a 2 hour horror film remake. Just stick to the original and remember why this movie is being made. Out of greed. so embrace the fact that you will not top the original and just give us an enjoyable ride. You are only remaking it to bring back Michael and save him from all the shitty sequels in order to make more sequels. Also please make sure that Laurie is strong. I like slasher films and go see them in the movies, and the last time the crowd was on the heroine's side was Jessica Biel in the TCM remake. Say what you will about that film, but she played her role well. In that films sequel people booed Jordana Brewster as soon as she got up and screamed "Somebody Help Me!".

Instead of a remake that just shits all over the what we love about HALLOWEEN...what if Zombie took this script and made it about this abused kid (who is not Michael Myers) with the stripper mom who has a scumbag boyfriend and a sister who's a ho and then have the kid sitting in the crawlspace after a particularly ferocious beating and he watches the original "Halloween" and you see this evil dawning in his eyes as he gets the idea to hack up his sister and then they send him to the crazy house where he grows up and escapes, and steals an actual Michael Myers mask from a store. It's only then that his psychiatrist realizes the connection and rushes to stop the now "real-world" Shape before he kills a bunch of nekkid teenagers. It's kind of a remake; it's kind of a reimagining; but then that this project does become ROB ZOMBIE'S HALLOWEEN. That idea I could actually get behind...you leave the original as the gospel according to Carpenter and everything else becomes either new or a wicked ass homage to the original...like you don't hear the HALLOWEEN theme anywhere except in the movie the kid is watching UNTIL he later puts on the Shape mask, and then you have this crazy ass heavy metal version from there on out. It's the old, but made new. Huh? What do you think?

If Michael Myers is going to be a huge wrestling looking fucker and they're keeping the 'explain everything' approach in this Rob Zombie's John Carpenter's Halloween, then I believe this raises the possibility of the first training montage in a Halloween film. We will need to know how he got those muscles, right? Cue the classic eighties rock and shots of Mikey slowly adding weight to his bench press, running up a mountain, and maybe some of those weird hanging upside-down situps Rocky did in part 4. Eye of the tiger, Mike!

revising the script
by thomasjarvis
Jan 18th, 2007

Zombie should seriously consider postponing filming for a few weeks and call in a favor from a filmmaking collegue and acqaintance of his; Quentin Tarantino. QT spent a good portion of his early days as a script doctor and story consultant. He actually did an uncredited script polish on 'Crimson Tide'. Robert Rodriguez has admitted that QT rewrote several scenes for his 'Planet Terror' script. QT's also a self professed 'Halloween' fan, and was even once attached in an executive producer capacity to an aborted 'Halloween 6' project with Scott Speigal slated as director, which ultimately never came to fruition because Tarantino and Speigal were unhappy with the script that Dimension wanted to use (which was later scrapped anyways). Zombie is already helming a faux movie trailer to contribute to Tarantino and Rodriguez's upcoming 'Grindhouse' double-feature, and QT and RZ are both under contract to the same studio (the Weinstein Company). Honestly, I feel Tarantino's potential contributions to Zombie's script could prove invaluable. Also, Tarantino has quite a few more notches to his belt as a filmmaker, there is much that Zombie could learn from the man, with only two films to his name he's still more than just a little green to the world of filmmaking. It would be wise of Zombie to swallow his pride and consult a fellow filmmaker who I reckon would be more than willing to offer some assistance, time permitting. Tarantino paid Rodriguez exactly one dollar for his contribution to the score of 'Kill Bill Vol. II', and in return Rodriguez paid QT the same for his brief directorial contribution to 'Sin City'. I imagine Tarantino would be delighted to assist RZ in some small manner with the 'Halloween' remake in return for Zombie's small directorial contribution to 'Grindhouse'. It just makes good business sence. Unfortunantely, I'm not sure Rob Zombie would be open to the idea of asking another filmmaker for this type of assistance.
I wrote a treatment for Halloween in math class
by CTU Mole

10:38:56 AM
I have a degree in computer science but now I'm going to film school. Because of a fuck up in the transfer credits, I actually have to take algebra again so sometimes I write during class. I wrote a script for Halloween from the beginning to where Michael breaks out of the asylum. It focuses on the normalcy of his suburban upbringing, his loving family and the shocking acts he commits that Halloween night. It also focuses on Dr. Loomis, a well adjusted family man and genius in abnormal psychology who arrogantly takes the Myers case pro-bono. It then follows his decent into obsession and eventual psychosis as he realizes he's dealing with something he can't treat or cure. Then class ended and I threw it out. Call me, Zombie, if you need help.

This Ain't A Remake, It's A New Franchise
by StockTowns Finest

What I don't understand about all these remakes that change everything made the originals so special is why they don't just make a totally new series, instead of Halloween change the character names and call it something else, because it definitely isn't Halloween. Rob Zombie thinks that because he is a fan he had the right change things the way he sees fit, but instead of alienating established fans of the original and of horror, he should just start his own horror series based on his mask making, masturbating, eviscerating, people chasing, one-word saying, bodybuilding, deviant children, throat crushing, motherf***ing monster and leave the original Halloween alone so it can inspire generations more of moviemakers to scare the s**t out of viewer with silent and subtlety instead of gore and rock soundtracks.

ALL OF IT. Moustapha Akkad used to say he was "doing it for the fans." That's why he kicked the FANS in the balls and basically destroyed the series. Rob Zombie says he's a "fan." Right, a fan that basically says, "fuck you, I don't care what you think" to everyone that questions what he does. All these people care about is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. They don't care about what you think, they don't care about what I think, all they care about is making DOLLARS. When Zombie first announced this stupid remake, he mentioned that Carpenter gave his blessing. Well, no fucking shit. Considering Carpenter is probably going to make a good chunk off royalties, OF COURSE he gave his blessing! This is just more evidence of the bullshit they keep feeding us. The whole thing is bullshit. Another poster mentioned that Zombie should just call this something different. I've been saying that for months, too. You know why they will never do that? RZ says that people are going all batshit because of what a reviewer *thinks* about a film. While that might be true in some cases...I think if he's referring to TB's (which is kinda likely) then he's wrong in that most of the TB's were reacting to what was presented as *facts* in the script itself. People care, not for what a reviewer thinks, but for the film itself! How many of these classic legacy films have been exploited/belittled already by a bad approach to the "remake"? Tho I'd like to see RZ succeed in this I still think a remake of Halloween is simply unnecessary..same thing for the coming "Thing" remake! Greatness doesn't lend itself to remakes.

Cold and calculating. That was evident from childhood. That's why he killed. Halloween is about suspense, not psychedelic, over the top madness. That's why you see through the mask. That's why there's no blood. Suspense! The opposite of the shit Zombie makes. Make a Texas Chainsaw movie, asshole. Let someone with some tact make Halloween. Fuck, LET CARPENTER DO IT AGAIN!

Shatner as Myers in Zombie's Halloween would be absolutely perfect, since Zombie wants Myers to be from redneck stock, why not be an all out inbred retard who disguises himself by wearing a mask of his own face. And Fangoria reports that he kills people by charging at them, crushing their throat and eviscerating them...and then utters one word. Now if this remake is going to rat shit anyway, I say he uses the Vulcan Deathgrip and his one word be "Rocketman"

and I agree completely with what you're saying or typing or something. A true Slasher film is slight on gore and heavy on creeps and screams. Gore requires very little audience participation and are often forgettable because of that. 'Halloween' has existed in the public conscience for so long partly because it forced the audience to ask questions and form their own answers. Mr. Zombie appears to be giving us the answers we've often wondered and truly ruining the mystique that makes up a large part of why Michael Myers was always great to watch. That being said, the film will never surpass the original (less talent dictates that) so maybe Mr.Zombie should do what he would likes.

There's different, and there's shit. I am very pro-remake, but it still has to be a good film on it's own despite the changes. I was also very pro Dawn of the Dead 2004. Different from the original, but still good on it's own. My problem is Zombie. His movies are shit to me. If someone remakes Halloween different and rocks it, fine. But I know Rob's track record and this script confirms what I feared. Give this to someone else. Maybe Zach Snyder will be available after 300 or The Watchmen. Still not sure if he's right for that one yet. Alfonso Cuaron would own that movie. Children of Men fucking rocked.

Pick up on DVD *Doctor Who - The Talons of Weng Chiang* (from the 70s) some time and you'll see how terrifying a midget assassin can be, especially since he's supposed to be a dummy. Its one of Deep Roy's (sic) first roles [as Mr. Sin]; you know, the dude that played the Umpa Loompa(s) in Burton's Choco Factory flick.

got to agree with the above. It's sad to say but i purchased the Reservoir Dogs script. and had i been an executive reading it, i would have tossed it aside. the script felt flat and lifeless, where the film just exploded off the screen. It could be because i'd seen the film first and knew the outcome, but i think it's a bit early to be judging a movie. But, if it succeeds we can call it a remake, if it sucks we can call it a sequel. Leaving the door open for another inevitable remake 30 years down the line

they're giving Rob and the other hundreds of douchebag "name" filmmakers, they'd be getting some badass movies for their buck. And, dammit - quit remaking BIG NAME CLASSICS. Just remake 'bad' movies that failed because of their limitations or have not aged well. Hell, I'd rather someone made an all-out, big budget, violent sci-fi/horror revamp of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" than revisit "Halloween."

I find the fact that people out there actually like his movies to be more frightening than any tenticled beast to come at me from the Void. At least I have a chance of reasoning with the tenticled beast. I felt my IQ drop watching Devils Rejects. Only a Reject would find any entertainment in such a piece of shit. Its got about as much value as watching someone take a shit for a hour and 1/2. It doesnt suprise me that Zombie fans are so gung ho for him to make Halloween. Theyre his fans, they obviously dont have any taste. If you see a copy of 1000 Corpses or Devils Rejects, destroy it, youll be doing the human race a favor.

He wasn't crazy and that made him more dangerous. It was personal. It's scarier that the killer is targeting YOU and just killing anyone who got in his way. He was normal enough to walk down the street, drive a car, or enter a store. He could go anywhere. He's just fucking with you! No one would know who he was because he's been locked up for years but he still wears a fucking mask just because! And the mask. A plain, white, blank expression. A reflection of Myers himself. His name is just a pretense. You could imagine anyone's face there. He was the boogeyman. His name wasn't even in the credits. That's how obvious it was. He is just there to scare you.

That’s me, baby. But come on; do you really think that having an opinion on art (however researched it may be) and creating the art that said opinion may pertain to need to be encompassed in the same person for the opinion (and by that rational, the art) to have any public worth? Are you stating that if one were to do either then one should most certainly do the other? My mother dislikes ‘Gone With The Wind’ ( what a cunt, eh?), but by your rational she should shut her yapper and go make a better film about the American Civil War to prove that her opinion had value. Seems, oh I don’t know, like the reasoning of a child that watches cartoons about morphable robots from another universe. Maybe it’s just me? But, it’s not. And awaaaaay we go!

your right, everyone can smell a piece of shit, I'm a Huge halloween fan, hell, a framed poster hangs above my marital bed, but i'm not totally averse to a remake, who knows it may actually turn out well, some of the ideas added to the story seemed fine to me, Granted, some were also utter crud. People, we've all got to face a fact, Every movie WILL be remade, reimagined, however you put it. it will return in another form, some might be better than the original over time. But theres no point getting wound up over it. The re*whatever* of Citizen Kane is just waiting around the corner

Zombie doesn't even seem to understand the original and what made it work. My first instinct (when I heard Zombie was directing this) was that his directing style doesn't mesh with the material. Everything that I have read since suggests this to be true. Hell, if he wants to remake Friday the 13th, I'm all for it. But, if you are going to remake a film, you have to preserve the basic core of the story or it isn't a remake anymore. The first time I saw Halloween, I was scared shitless. Here was this killer who stalked people for no reason and he COULDN'T BE KILLED (it was a new idea back then). Why did he do it? Don't know. Where did he go at the end of the movie? Under everyone's bed. I just don't think this movie can be remade. We are a different country with a different psychology and the un-killable killer has been done to death. I understand why Zombie wanted to change things up with his remake, but he looses everything that made the original great in the process. I just can't see anyone pulling this off.

ROB ZOMBIE IS THE HORROR GENRES MICHAEL BAY
A serious message for Rob:
by Doctor_Sin

03:58:24 PM
Look - I would love to see you film some sick and twisted scuz-fest with some disturbed, abused kid who suffers all through life and turns into a pathetic, albeit ultraviolent, serial killer/slasher. Do it, don't rewrite it. BUT - that is NOT "Halloween."

That is a film that is closer to old stuff like "Maniac," where the ultraviolence is somehow countered with us pitying the creature we are hating and rooting against. Make your film about some white trash kid who goes through hell to come out the other end cold, emotionless, and full of hate and violence. But, that isn't "Halloween."

Why *remake* stuff? Start from scratch. Why be a part of the ugliest side of the industry you are capable of challenging at every turn?

Why not "Rob Zombie's Bred to Kill" or some other exploitation-style title? Honestly, just give up the remake idea and concentrate on quality original product. You've got it in you. Regardless of if any TBer likes your flicks or not, you'll win more fans by bringing something REALLY new to the table, not buttfucking a classic film. That's really what we see Hollywood as doing now - degrading the beloved films we grew up with. Don't fall into a "TCM" remake fiasco.

Basically, if someone asks me if I wanna see a new Rob Zombie film or if I wanna see a remake/revisiting/reimagining of "Halloween," I'll pick the former. Even if you made a dozen films and I hated them all, I would give a new film by you a chance if it wasn't masquerading as some remake, and I would gladly spend a Saturday afternoon in the theater. To many, the very word "remake" or (shudder) "reimagining" is anathema. Myself included.

Look, if Rob sees this in any way, pass it along that he needs to either respect the legacy of a great film or just be original and make his own movie his own way and be original about it and not try to tie it in with "Halloween." No more remakes.

I'm cutting Rob some slack (I must be crazy)

Yeah I know she's been making the rounds in lame horror remakes (Chainsaw), and sequels (Trinity). She was however, the bright spot in both those turkeys. Jessica is a talented actress, with very expressive emotions. While she is glamourous, I think she could play the bookish Strode. Jamie Lee was beautiful w/ a real-life lifestyle very much like "totally" Lynda, yet tranformed into the repressed heroine very well. Biel is younger than Danielle Harris, so age shouldn't be an issue.

Why the hell would I want to subject myself to a trainwreck puked out by a talentless hack. Then again Danielle Harris naked.... That would prob be enough to make me download it a few days after it hits theaters. Watching Pan's Labyrinth again now. When this thing hit DVD? Good ole Guillermo. At least he has some respect for genres films and talent to spare.

You are a fucking retard. You have no understanding of anything regarding the original film. You are simply a sycophant of Zombie, a man who has filled the world with lousy stupid music and is now filling it with lousy stupid movies. Even if he eliminates any connection with Halloween this movie STILL sounds really stupid, especially from someone who can't write dialogue, stage a coherent scene or tell a story. Garbage plain and simple at it's very core.

My mom made it for me. I love my orange colored VHS copy of 'Halloween'. Oddly enough, the 'TMNT: Secret of the Ooze' soundtrack was packaged in a orange cassette. Rob Zombie’s favorite film is ‘A Clockwork Orange’. What does all this 'orange' have to do with a remake of ‘Halloween’? If you don’t know then Rob Zombie has already won.

Anyone who thinks Michaels needs a backstory or is a common textbook mass murderer doesnt understand the film at all are are missing the whole theme of Myers being without any sort of humanity. I mean, are they brainless or what? These Zombie supporters just want to see cool killings. They have no appreciate for the significance of the film, its brilliance or its place in film history.

people listen...... i've been a DIE HARD fan since childhood.... HotblackDesiato, seriously dude, dont tell me i have no understanding regarding the original.... i watch the original atleast 3 times a month for the past 8 or 9 years... first of all, you people are in rant about something that was NOT 100% confirmed.... secondly, there was NO hope in continuing the franchise by following up ANYTHING after HII... The story was dead... they totally killed the whole jamie lloyd charachter after MICHAEL IMPREGNATES HER in H6.. yet, theres nothing wrong with that?? the only good thing that HAS happened is that a remake was planned.... and what do you people expect from this??? why the hell would anyone copy clip for clip from the original??? its pointless... i'm not a rob zombie fan... i dont think theres anything wrong with his music, the instrumentals are amazing, he has a decent voice, but im not into his style of music... but everyone has more than enough complained and bitched about the same ish over and over and over, and it needs to stop... because honestly, it will NOT change a damn thing..... you people want to see michael for 14 movies, just kill random people, for NO reason, i think that is freakin retarded, and YOU have no taste in story or charachter.... u wanna see a big guy in a mask killing people for no reason, go to blockbusters and rent out any of the 49,000 Friday the 13th movies...

"you people want to see michael for 14 movies, just kill random people, for NO reason, i think that is freakin retarded, and YOU have no taste in story or charachter.... u wanna see a big guy in a mask killing people for no reason" NO THATS what your going to get with Zombies version.Serial killer cliches and gore. If they really wanted to do something different they should go back to what made the first one so great since its been 30 years since that was done. Weve seen nothing but gory slashers for years. Halloween wasnt a slasher. As I said elsewhere, Its the Loomis Myers dynamic that makes the first one so great. Myers should defy all of Loomis training, beliefs, and rational - thats what makes Loomis driven. And you cant have that with Myers being a textbook killer. Whats the point, the FBI has file cabinets full of textbook killers, just bring them in on the case. All Loomis will need to understand Zombies Myers is any serial killer book - Myers must be a enigma. It also make swearing the blank emotionaless mask stupid. It looses the whole point if Myers is gonna show emotion.he never should, especially whiel killing. He shoudl never be humanized. Not even a little bit. Myers showing emotional pain?? Its a a betrayal of the basic concept that makes the character, his dynamic with Loomis and movie work. Zombie isnt even gonna flesh out the characters Myers is gonna stalk according to the script review, they appear so late. Myers stalks his victims. Its called stalk for a reason. How are we supposed to care about them, how are they supposed to become rounded characters if we dont spend any time with them before they lined up for the slaughter (which Im sure will be bitchin in Zombies version). Sorry but every idea he has goes against the basics of what makes Halloween great. The first film wasnt a slasher. Zombies will be.

Dont even get me started on the guys dialogue or his incompetence with a camera. Halloween should ooze atmosphere, not shaky cam quick MTV edits. Damn get Danny Boyle, Alexandre Aja, Paul Greengrass - somebody, anybody but this guy. Its X3 all over again. A rushed production of a shitty script. But Zombie doesnt even have a shred of Ratners talent or ability so, yes we're doomed.

I think the sequels suck, too. I don't want another color-by-numbers entry. And I don't care that it's being remade. Remake everything for all I care. And Zombie not denying any of this is as good as confirming it. He's been opening his mouth every other day regarding the movie and never have I seen him say "no, there is no I gotta poop mask." If he did point me to it and I'll retract my statement. My point is and will be that his approach to the remake is fine, but his storyline and concepts are stupid and repetative. He's doing the same thing he failed at twice before. The guy seems to think that if he tries really really hard to make EVERYTHING edgey and scary and outrageous then it will be good. No, when you do that all you get is white noise. When everything is loud then NOTHING is loud. His 2 previous films are just that. They look good and show some skill with a camera, but they are essentially artificial and forced to the point of numbness. Hell, even numbness is to kind. There is nothing in them that make me think another shot of this immature filmmaking is the cure for what ails this franchise. He is--as Marty DiBergi once related to Spinal Tap--treading water in a sea bad poetry and retarded sexuality. Not to mention just poor filmmaking. Again, different does not automatically equal good.

Make HALLOWEEN an anthology series using a different directors take on the original every year.Examples:"Dario Argento's Halloween","David Fincher's Halloween","Quentin Tarantino's"...,"Clive Barker's..."etc.That way we won't get locked into a string of even lamer sequels based on Zombie's already lame mythology. It would be an urban legend type of thing that changes somewhat with each telling but still honors the original.I think this is a pretty good idea if I may say so myself.Any seconds?

Season of the Witch when shooting their anthology. The best things to remake are things with potential, that failed on execution, and Season of the Witch fits that bill way more than Halloween. Personally I think Halloween works when it is edited for broadcast TV, and that is because it isn't a gore fest, but a cool movie that spawned some bad immitations. This world needs less children masterbating to dead andimals, and MORE MASS MURDERING OF CHILDREN WITH RIDICULOUS SCHEMES INVOLVING COOL MASKS, PLEASE! Silver Shamrock!

Absolutely!I've actually had an idea including Silver Shamrock in the origin of Michael Myers but thats just a little personal 'what if' type thing.Actually a full on remake of Halloween3 would rock HARD in the right hands.I would suggest David Cronenberg.
Rob seems hell-bent on trying to impress with the cast

Too bad, he should've spent more time trying to impress with the script. What's he gonna do next? Try to resurrect Boris Karloff and cast him as Loomis' sidekick? Zombie claims that the movie is different...that it 'changes' minute to minute and all that bullshit. The fact remains, Ken Foree is still among the cast and that means his character is still in the film...And any Halloween movie directed by Zombie that has a character by the name of "Big Joe Grizzly", certainly gives me pause. Zombie just doesn't get it. Halloween wasn't an exploitation film. Michael Myers isn't a serial killer (if you ignore the sequels and base things solely on the first movie). Why the hell is he doing this, if he's a 'fan'? Tarantino is a fan of plenty of horror flicks, and you don't see him doing this. Whoever said "if Moustapha Akkad were alive, he wouldn't have let this happen" was right on the money. He may have stopped Helloween, as well, but I'd much rather see Michael & Pinhead duke it out than this soon-to-be House of 1000 Corpses type shitfest. Just because someone remade Texas Chainsaw Massacre, doesn't mean you have to piss all over another beloved horror classic, Rob!
