The idea is a good one, but wasn't the idea to use existing sets? The Pegasus stuff has been torn down. Galactica wouldn't be involved in that scenario, so what sets could they use?

Overall, I liked the Pegasus story arc at the end of Season 2 -- to be honest, it salvaged that season for me since I think the show got TOO bogged down and got TOO religously mumbo-jumbo and actually went off track for a while there. And the Pegasus storyline helped to put the show back on track. But that said, why do a DVD that concentrates on the Pegasus, which I likewise assume means doing a movie that stars Michelle Forbes and "her crew" of actors. That means you'd be putting out a DVD that DOESN'T star or which DOESN'T focus on your actual series regulars -- which it just seems to me is ideally the prime reason for putting something like this out or at least is what you're counting on as your core financial anchor. So in other words, they'd be putting out a "continuity made for DVD movie" that only caters to a niche portion of a particular show's audience...which is a niche unto itself.

Personally, if that's the route they ARE willing to go, then fuck doing a "Pearl Harbor" movie about Forbes and crew. Give me a movie focusing on the all-out Cylon attack filled with action and mayhem and show me what Tom Zarek (RICHARD HATCH) did that day alongside his fellow rebel friends (cough! cough!) DIRK BENEDICT and HERB JEFFERSON, JR. Now that's a Battlestar made for DVD movie that geeks would want to buy!

Tom Zarek was most likely giving it to some prisoner up the ass when the attack started, considering he was on a prison transport at the time.

That being said, I wouldnt mind seeing the Pegasus before it encountered Galactica.

With all these negative rumors running around out there about the show, it stands to reason that at the core of it all, the show is probably coming under some heat from the brass for some improvement in ratings. Personally, the show is getting off track lately, it's bogged down, and a bit too preachy. So maybe a kick in the pants will get us some better episodes and more audience before it gets itself canceled for real. As for the movie, I'll believe that when I see it.

I do not want to see a story about Pegasus, and especially not after the events of the miniseries. I want to see the story move forwards not backwards, we know the fate of the Pegasus once it encounters Galactica. And we are even told breifly what happens on the Pegasus during its point of seperation, so why would we want to see this when we have a good idea of what occurs? Another half baked idea.

I'm sure I'll watch this movie... (that is if SCI-FI doesn't eternally screw things up and cancel the show)... but I'm wondering, why this story now? We already know The Pegasus ends up getting destroyed; and they've taken the story way past the attack on the colonies. So now they want to give us a feature-length flash back... WAIT! What am I doing? If the SCI-FI mole is reading this... I LOVE the idea... just don't cancel the @&%*#$' show!

Her ass is nice in the one, but her breasts don't even look that great. Yes, yes, as far as breasts go, they're good, and if I had the chance, I'd be interested, but what I mean is, with the level of hotness they've established with her on the show, these kind of fail in comparison. If that makes any sense.

...what was going on in the cylon empire prior to and during the attack on the colonies...

or maybe the weeks leading up to the attack on Caprica...

or a way retro prequel that takes us along with the 13th colony

the Pegasus thing does not sound that interesting to me, and is ultimately a dead-end story line. So, unless it reveals some other information crucial to the ongoing plot line of the main show, it is just churning off to the side. I thought the series started going off-track when Pegasus came along, and, just like TOS, they had to kill its commander(s) and destroy the ship to get back on track.

Look, I am no insider, but I am a betting man, and a pretty good gambler. Look, here is the deal. First, BSG is a DVD moneymaker. Second, it's still the highest rated show on Sci-Fi. Third, there is a spin-off coming. In order for Caprica to not just succeed but really do well, it's going to need a little help from the show it was spun from. What does all this equal. A season 4 for BSG. Now, Sci-Fi may order changes. There may be a payroll slash and some people will get killed off and effects go down. There may also be a shortened season. But cancellation, nope, there will be a season 4. Bet me, I dare ya.

looks like they already got a replacement in the bullpen... BSG is an overall good show, but very inconsistent and sometimes very cool and others very dumb: like laugh out loud corny. dunno, i think the overall design of the Cylons is weak. i miss the old school Raiders and robots; and i will take the original episode of Hatch and the gunfighter Cylon over the recent boxing episode any day. but its clear the needed to establish some things for the next episode: The Eye of Jupiter 1. they just could have wrapped in something more palatable.

Long before posting here, I've been reading the talkbacks. I can remember plenty of "Enterprise" bashing going on here every week. I was watching it, and thought it was entertaining, and hated to see it get canned just when it was finally beginning to really improve. Real World, it doesn't matter what any of us think or say here about BSG, It's the money that counts. If BSG continues to be a top rated SciFi Channel program, and continues to sell DVD's and bring in revenue, then It's not going anywhere, end of line.

Seriously, all you geeks need to get your heads out of your ass. BSG was a depressing piece of frak polluting our airwaves. The only thing worst than listing to geeks orgasm in their pants over this junk is listening to "critics" call it "smart" and "realistic". Oh the hell can this show be "smart" and "realistic" when people are flying around on frakkin' starships with faster than light engines and Adama is still wearing reading glasses and has a face full of pot marks. What, they can build starships in the future, but they have no cure for acne, or haven't yet discovered corrective eye surgery? Finally, if I want to watch something as unendingly depressing as BSG (which, I suspect, is why critics love it so much; BSG is the TV version of an Art House Movie) I'll time travel back to 2000 and watch Bush steal the election again.
Last season of ENTERPRISE was good, tho the finale BLEW
by Triumph poops!
Jan 14th, 2007
06:44:10 AM
Off topic, but I'd agree that the last season of ENTERPRISE was a BIG improvement, unquestionably due to the efforts by Manny Coto as the new story editor to whip the thing back into shape. Frankly, had the show been given a 5th season with Coto at the helm I think the show would have rebounded rather nicely in the eyes of all. That said, Berman and Braga were still able to piss all over Coto's hard work and serve up to the fans a major shit burger deluxe with that God awful series finale they cowrote which actually spent MORE time focusing on worthless, shitty cameos from Riker and Troi than the actual cast of ENTERPRISE itself. Seriously, that has to rank as one of the ALL TIME WORST series finales in the history of TV. As I said, just truly GOD AWFUL and proof positive why NO studio or production company should ever give Berman or Braga work again!

Do like FARSCAPE - wrap up the storyline
by EubieDed
Jan 15th, 2007
12:08:14 PM
BSG V2 so far has followed the major plot points of the original series: cylon attack on colonies, Baltar helping cylons against humans, deux ex Pegasus, and the ongoing search for Earth. The only original twist so far has been the introduction of the biocylons and the birth of a hybrid. The two major episodic elements from the first series which haven't appeared yet are: 1) the discovery of an advanced militaristic human society that BSG tries to enlist against the approaching cylons, and 2) the ultimate discovery of Earth. If the series is coming to an end, why not tie up all the loose ends in a sweeping FARSCAPE-like finale? Let them discover Earth (hopefully more advanced than BSG 1984) and use hybrid children to bridge the species. Through reprogramming of the regeneration system, cylons become real "Peacekeepers" - defenders of humanity against the technologically superior militaristic society they discovered earlier that is now chasing them all across the galaxy. Big battle at end, bad guys defeated, bright future ahead, end of story, and no need for BSG V3.
