The Halmis are producing?! Wow, We all might as well get the drano and plunger out now and be prepared for the insanely large turd headed our way that will need instant flushing. Seriously, I salute these guys for one thing -- namely sort of living the dream of making a living in Hollywood and all that. But let's be honest. The Halmi productions ALWAYS have (1) truly, truly AWFUL acting courtesy of the absolute most cliched filled and hack-like scripts possible, not to mention the utmost SHITTIEST of effects. Seriously, the average Ninento or Xbox game has better rendering and design work. These guys succeed in pounding it out and collecting their money and that's ALL they have going for them. As a fan of old time sci fi and pulps and old movie serials and all that, I was REALLY hoping a Flash TV show would be tackled with at least SOME effort at making it a good show. But I can already write this piece of shit off now. Well, there's an hour of my life each week I've already gotten back.

Although I will say this to be slightly positive. Talkbacker with no Name above actually posed a great notion. Let the Halmis just write a check and get the Hell out of the way and let a true uber geek like Conran who would have a deep rooted love for the property run the show entirely and then maybe...MAYBE...you'd have a salvageable situation.

The Halmis need to open up their books!

So many great oneliners I say to this day. "What do you mean Flash Gordon approching!" "It won't turn over! It won't turn over!" Which after a while starts to sound like, It won't chernobyl! "Aw well, who wants to live forever!" "But why do you attack us, we mean you no harm." Why not pathetic earthlings!, hurling your bodies into the void" "Show us this loyalty, throw yourself on to your sword." "Long Live Flash, you've saved your Earth" I always think it's gonna say, long live flash, you saved your ass! Does Max von sydow do the voice of that flying robot as well? I always wondered.

That's the name of the song. By Queen. Queen does the entire soundtrack for that movie. People forget that. They think that they just throw Queen rock songs in there. No, they do the entire score. Every bit of music in that movie is done by the members of Queen. One of the few bands to ever do that for a movie. Oh and the reporter chick is played by Melody Anderson. I had such a crush on her as a kid. Still do, although she's lookin old these days, but damn was she sexy. I like when she removes her shoes and does cartwheels to avoid getting shot and zaps those screaming guards. Real weird, for a reporter she's real spunky. Anyway, since I have the entire Queen catalog. Here ya go, enjoy it and relive those Flash Gordon memories - http://tinyurl.com/yeun6a

When is this film gonna get the treatment it deserves? New Interviews with the cast. Queen, perhaps an old making of special, deleted scenes? Anamorphic. Deep Roy, my life as a pet. It's taken so long that it might have to be HI-DEF DVD. Yeah I know there's been Flash DVDs before and one released in the UK with some Audio Commentary and some photo slideshow, some generic stuff. I want a full treatment. Screw the haters. This cheeseball is part of my youth and I loves me cheese!
Anecdote about Dalton as Barin that made me laugh
by Triumph poops!

I found this online while checking out something about Timothy Dalton -- who by the way, since I don't think he's doing much of late, really would make for a kick-ass Dr Who if David Tennant does leave after next season (hint, hint to the BBC or at least more fan geek wishful casting). Anyway, this is from an interview with the co-writer and producer of HOT FUZZ, the new Simon Pegg comedy that Dalton has a role in.

Conversation with Edgar Wright and Nick Frost by Chris Carle, Total Film Magazine...

Q: What have been the highlights of filming and was there anyone you really liked working with?

Wright: It's got such a crazy, amazing cast. It's weird when you get people you've admired for years and stuff, and suddenly you're working with them.

Wright: It would be like a thing, especially with some of the people like Timothy Dalton or Edward Woodward or Jim Broadbent. You'd be doing a scene with them and just talking with them, and then you think, "F*** me, I can't believe the Equalizer is standing over there." It was a running joke. Timothy Dalton was such a trip. We loved working with him. He's one of those people where I'm almost more impressed by the fact that he was Prince Baron than the fact he was Bond. Me and Simon always had a running joke that whenever he would walk past, I'd say, "You know who that was? That's f***ing Prince Baron!"

I'll be happy as long as they don't cast Ben Browder as Flash. Or in any role in the series, at all. He's ruined enough shows already with his tired smart-aleck space-jockey shtick.

...or at least Cap when they make a Captain America movie. I always thought it would be funny as hell to see Matthew McConaughey as Flash when they were talking about it in the nineties.

Now, if only it would open with air race between Flash and William Anthony Rogers, before Rogers has to go into orbit and save the world (of course being frozen for 500 years)...
