I think it was Pound Sand that coined the whole GOTTA EAT thing. I admit, I wasn't that impressed at first, but it grew on me--kinda like a fungas. I think part of the phrase's charm is that it is overused and annoying, therefore making it funny when its being used. Just my take on it, though.

The whole freak out over "gotta eat" has gotta go. Some TB's are nothing but stupid catch phrases now. Some of them over time can be a little funny but I never even cracked a grin over 'gotta eat' and 'cookin the books' does nothing for me as well. On topic, I agree with the TB'er who says Venom's spider needs to be white otherwise he has spotlight eyes..over all a kewl fig tho. As for Megatron...sorry to join the bandwagon but it's far to busy and the suck as well. So he's a jet fighter...fine...and I even get the whole 'how does a mechanical lifeform have the ability to freely shape change unless he looks like that' but damn....it's still the suck. Giant robots smashing stuff is always kewl so I'm sure it will be a fun orville redenbacher flick regardless.

I totally agree that Venom's spider should be white on his chest. Obviously they decided to make it the charcoal gray color for Spiderman, which is fine for me, as long as his eyes are the same color. But for Venom, who appears to have white eyes, they should have made the spider white to match. (a) It would make the eyes less jarring; (b) would have allowed for a KILLER scene where you see the white spider in a shadowy corner, but then venom's form steps out of shadow (they did something like this when they introduced the character in Amazing #298/299). Is it too late to CGI the spider in white?

It is based on both the symbiote and Eddie Brock's hatred of Spiderman thus the symbiote forms the look of a twisted Spiderman. So this version is based on the movie costume. I am assuming the light grey spider of the chest will glimmer in the light much like Spiderman's.

...appears to be a peculiarity of the toy rather than the Venom design. Looking at the other pics on the site, this is one of those poseable toys with a real costume, but they've bothered to make the costume out of a plastic-y looking fabric that's closer to the look of the film, rather than those shitty costumes you used to get when I was a kid and the costume looked like it was made out of wool or something. It's a pretty cool toy, actually. Fucking kids these days. They get all the good stuff.

I guess I am a minority here, but why do most SM fans love the gaping maw, too many teeth with ridiculous tongue version of Venom? Yes, I know that it is the standard, but I persoannly thought what originally made him spooky/scary was a muscle bound SM with only a sadistic grin. Not teeth practically falling out of his mouth and a tounge like Gene Simmons. Just an opinion. I know it wouldn't work in a movie, but does this really work too? I just read another interview with Raimi and without saying so, he was obviously pressued to use Venom. Hope it works out. I'll be there opening day to see. I personally think Topher Grace will shock/please the naysayers. I hate what Hasbro did to the Transformer designs. Whatever team "designed" them flipped the bird to nostalgia. Streamling is one thing, complete overhaul is another. There is barely any resemblance. I thought old, dated vehicles and clunky robots would be cool. Beat up old Autobot clunkers blending in in the ghettos and shiny Decepticons masquerading as kickass military vehicles. Guess that's why I am not a scriptwriter and hence my poor grammar and spelling. Oh well, they're not getting my money. Bay is whack. Could have been so cool.....

I assume it's because when Parker suits up he's wearing nothing but tighty whiteys. When the symbiote lands on Brock in the church, he's fully dressed. So it's really just covering up the clothes he's already wearing. Also, a white spider and webbing would be more striking, but I suspect grey will look OK on-screen.

to finish the though on Venom looking better in the film, what we've seen of Spidey wearing the black suit look better than the toys look. The little bit we've seen of the symbiote moving on its own looked okay and the half-second shot of Venom in that "un-released" trailer that leaked looked cool, though little detail could really be seen. But it was enough for me to beleive they are truly trying to do the Venom look right. They wanted to use that last clip, but my guess is the effects work isn't where Raimi and co. would like to be yet. So, rather than risk negative buzz on it, they are waiting. Of course, it could also just be Raimi not wanting to blow his "Venom" load so early...

From a nice business trip, essentially my peers getting shitfaced and me being stone sober, and I see this. At first I reacted like most. "What the hell is with the pants? I looks like Venom is wearing baggy pants and a turtleneck. What they hell is that." Ooooohhhh.... I then says to myself. It's a toy image. Not a statue image. These are essentially Mego toys wearing pleather clothes. That's why they look like that. Okay, cool. So, what's the real deal? What am I looking at here? Well, it's a pretty accurate, film adapted Venom, that will likely result in the character being huge. Huge enough that they'll spin him off into his own anti-hero movies. I suppose that would be cool. Espeically if they make Spidey a cameo role just so they kick the living crap out of each other while Spidey dishes out some sort of advice that helps Venom overcome his bloodlust and actaully save the day. Of course his saving the day might actually end up killing a lot of people, but at least it will be entertaining. On the other hand... I have to look at that thing on the bottom there that is going around calling itself Megatron, and I have to read how morons like Kristian66 who don't realize that originally THEY DID SAY that the Transformers would look like the G1 Characters. Instead they backtracked and said they would be named after G1 Characters. You all must have misunderstood. You all talk about how Paramount or Bay, or whoever is going to sleep on bags of money because WE have no control over how well this turd is going to do. That you MUST see this movie, or be doomed to wonder if it really was as bad as it seemed. Don't give me that crap. DON'T FUCKING GO! Well okay, fine... if you must go see this movie. Pay for another film and sneak in. Hell, help the box office for a film that looks good, or that you've already seen. Pay to see THAT movie and then go into Transformers if you really must waste the two and a half hours of your life. Do that, but don't fool the studios into thinking that it's a good movie. THEY'LL MAKE MORE... and THEY'LL BE WORSE!! If you leave Transformers thinking it's the best shit you've tasted since you pulled a hoover maneuver on your mom's anus, then come back and pay for Transformers, go see that movie you paid for the first time, or go see something you might not have seen in the first place. Ultimately, you must realize you've seen the shitty designs, you've read the shitty script, and you've seen the misleading trailer. If that bite of this shit flavored candy bar seems to taste so good, then go ahead. Dive in and finish the whole thing. Just remember, you chose to go.

Personally, I've always been a casual fan of transformers and agree that the Megatron design is hideous, but really, how big is the existing Transformers fanbase? Nobody's arguing that they aren't vocal. But looking at it as objectively as possible, is the G1 Transformers fanbase in the general population really that large? Seriously, the fucking toys are out there, all he had to do was make something remotely like them and the fans would have swooned. Instead, we get that "thing" pictured above. Then it dawned on me with creeping horror, this is the "crappy Megatron" everyone's been complaining about!! Holy shit! This thing looks just plain awful...a blob of metal that completely lacks personality and WON'T be iconic. It reminds me of what Emmerich did to Godzilla, creating something that almost INTENDS to destroy memories by aggressively striving to not resemble the original character. if there's one thing i love more than playing video games...it's watching them! further more, when i watch a movie of a game i've played, i probably already know the whole story, that's why it's necessary to change everything about it. you might be interested to know that alone in the dark is actually a harrowing parable to the dangers of sodomy. something which uwe was affected by from a very young age. the orphanage represents love, but it is corrupted by the desire to improve up on it..i.e. implanting bugs in the children= romancing their anuses (or anaii). the children then grow up to be corrupted husks of human beings, a comment from uwe on why sodomy causes men to have higher pitched voices after repeat efforts. finally, when they look deep into the hell cave...well, i think even you can read into that one. the reason uwe will be remembered as a modern orson wells, is that classic directors have shown us that you need plot, structure, artistic integrity,consistence and talent to make a good film. what uwe has done, in a wonderfully post modern way, is to show us you need none of those things. i hope this helps.

the new Venom suit's webbing. I will go see transformers because I like them. But there was such an easy way of justifying the G1 models: the movie happens during the 80s. That would have helped keep the original designs and justify them at the same time. And it is not like the toys would not sell. Darth vader looks the same as he did 30 years ago (Don't think that I believe Star Wars and transformers are at the same level though) and he still sells like porn on the web.

FRANK WELKER! At frist I had hoped Frank would distance himself from this film, but honestly, I can't blame the man for wanting to be a part of the Transformers franchise. His voice work has helped to make Megatron a memorable villian and hopefully it won't dimish this work when he lends the voice of Megatron to the creature with the face of an anus. Still, you have to wonder if he wasn't pressured to do film in order to smooth over the tension over the shitty designs. Anyway, there you have it... and I'm breaking this story. in other news... Bryan Cox (Not to be confused with Brian Cox, X:Men 2, Troy) and Mark Ryan (The Presitge, Alias, JAG) will be playing Transformers as well in this film. Though I don't know for certain which transformers, It is my understanding that Ryan will likely be playin Ironhide, and Cox will voice Barricade, or Brawl, or whatever they are calling the Decepticon Car. This is Cox first film as far as I can tell. Which only instills more confidence in this film for me.

Hey Yack, Well, I messaged my friend and said there was some question on changes in the script. I told them that the script I had was dated February and they told me that there were at least two revisions since then. They added some slight focus on some of the "new" characters that will emerge in the ending parts of the script, but that for the most part the Script and the story are unchanged. They also tell me that there are a few short action sequences that have been added since that script to "punch" up the film. Saldy I think this means that the film is still about the humans, and not the Transformers, and these additional scenes are erally so that we can get a focus on the transformers created by the energon cube at the end of the story. Characters like the binoculars, and ipod. The intention is to sell the toys because the appeared in the film.

all the the new spidey 3 toys have baggy costumes, im sure this is just a design of the toy so you can pose them in cool positions easier, its not gonna be like that in the movie. in fact thats proven cause spideys suit isnt baggy in the movie and it is on the toy. also i with the big white spider on venom was more white and didnt get lost in the other webs.
