Those are all well and good, and I'm digging the mist (I mean.. don't they have to bring Jack back from the afterlife? Good shit), but I've got a problem with these images, adn it's the same problem I had with Dead Man's Chest: KIERA KNIGHTLY NEEDS TO GAIN SOME WEIGHT! I mean.. I love her, absolutely love her, like full on blush and can't think right whenever she comes on the tv, but her drop to unhealthy skinniness has just got me upset. Now I don't care what actors' personal lives are like, but when their eating problems are taking me out of a good movie, then we've got a problem, you know? Pirates 2 had about 2 minutes worth of garbage CG gag scenes that pulled the whole movie from down from potential greatness to asstacularity. Rotating gatling canons? Squid snot? Gravity defying wooden pole gymnastics? Bullet time? Pah-leeese. On the upside, it shouldn't be too hard to do a phantom edit... just a few well placed cuts and bada-bing - a movie worth watching.

Absolutely. I'm finding alot of the massive blockbusters are getting spoilt with strange editing. Mission Impossible 3 is another good example. Lots of good scenes, a decent story, a GREAT villain but it just didn't hang together.

Although the original was good, the sequel was much, much better IMO. Yes, I agree it got a little slow in spots and the script could have used a little polishing, but the story was much more complex and better thought-out than the original was. As I've said in previous posts, my only real complaint is that the character of Elizabeth is almost completely useless in this movie. She doesn't really do anything to advance the story until the very end and doesn't even have any comedic value until the "Beach Fight" scene, near the end. But I love the villians (both Davy Jones and the EIC Bigwig) and the return of Barbosa was, while predictable early in the film, nice to see.

I felt as if I should have watched part 1 just prior, as all the names and references in the second one didn't make any sense to me. YES I SAW THE FIRST ONE!--like three years ago or something. anyway, I thought part two was pretty good, despite not remembering anyone besides three main male leads. oh come on, you don't REALLY think kiera is a woman do you? for God's sake I read Disney had to digitally enlarge her chest for the one sheet released to theaters in the USA! need I say more?

quit trying to be the obscure love child of scorcese and copola who thinks that only picaso on film is good cinema... movies are about entertainment and the POTC franshise is almost as good as it gets when it comes to entertaining. They are well written, well acted, great characters, great scenes, great costumes, and great CG (comon freaking davy jones is dang good CG). The poster's like all these great actors...and Orlando Bloom. He JUST gets away with it in Dead Man's Chest because he's got Stellan Skarsgard(sp) and a fucking amazing turn by Bill Nighy (and amazing CG work) as Davy Jones to play off. He only has two acting styles - angry shouting and cheesy 'dramatic' whispering! Anyhow, all the HATERS can fuck right off. Dead Man's Chest was amazing and will be made even better once the story's conclusion is resolved in At World's End. Also, fucking spoilerfuckingriffic Barfuckingbossa in the poster!!

Have to see the 3rd to see where it all goes but not too excitied after number two. Almost walked out of part two - rented it again to give it another chance and turned it off within the first hour. Suffered from sequelitis. The actors do too much hamming up to keep fairly boring expositional scenes moving. And the action scenes were too over the top. Can't think of anything positive to say about the 2nd other than I enjoyed the 1st one. And the cinematography and CGI were quite well done. Hope the 3rd feels less slapsticky and not so thrown together as the 2nd one. And that voodoo lady crap really sucked - hope they leave that stuff out. And no more silly fights, please. I'd agree with Jamie, one of the worst flicks of 2006 (when did King Kong come out?... Worst film of the decade? We shall see...)

First off, I have to say that I love these movies. The first POTC is somewhat of a flawed classic in my eyes, while the second is a guilty pleasure. Dead Mans Chest should have been a hell of a lot better than it was. Jack Sparrows entrance is one of the best of all-time though, and it does have some brigh spots. Here's my point of the post though: It hit me the second time I was watching this, in the scene where Jack falls hundreds of feet on that cannibal island and then gets up and is able sprint to his ship. WHAT IF JACK HELD ON TO ONE OF THOSE AZTEC COINS IN CASE OF SITUATIONS LIKE THESE? Walking around as a half dead pirate? Sounds like Jack Sparrow to me((and hence his coffin escape). If im right and Worlds End kicks ass, this is definetly one of the better trilogies of all-time.

Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest are both great films but I think so many people are now used to huge blockbusters that suck donkey balls that they can't recognise something brilliant. Their attention span cannot physically last longer than 80 minutes, concepts such as 'story' and 'character' mean nothing to them, NOTHING can exist in the movie outside of its set genre (that's why so many people were pissed of with Dead Man's Chest, they thought they were going to see a comedy and didn't realise that Curse of the Black Pearl wasn't a comedy and that Dead Man's Chest, as the middle of a trilogy, was always going to be dark). Stupid.
