If that. I just don't have the heart for another sleazy F/X series -- especially one with David Arquette playing any kind of role, in front of the camera or behind the scenes. Ecch.

The actual previews, not those teasers, just weren't impressive. It all looks trashy in a very bad way. If anything, this series will be remembered for introducing nearly everyone to a Peter Gabriel song.

Two things - Lucky was praised to the sky by critics but fell with a thud in the court of public opinion. There was, originally, a somewhat similar critical response to Nip/Tuck, in the "no likeable characters, no one to identify with" vein. I'm not say this'll be good, but I think its worth judging for yourself.

Ok, thats out of the way.. You knew the show was in trouble when the promos for the show was nothing but Courtney Cox standing there trying to look sexy with that silly music playing in the background. It was almost as if the people at F/X were afraid to show the public anything from the show itself. I will still check it out only because I thought Nip/Tuck was going to be complete trash and it turned out to surprise me.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. I was hoping Cox could cool my nuclear-hot hatred of "Friends," but I guess not. She's sucked horribly in pretty much everything except "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective," so I'm not surprised.

I'm with you 100% MaxCalifornia. Bring back THE SHIELD and never show that fucking promo ever again!

Out of the Weeds, Rescue Mes, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphias, and Dexters, it makes sense that one of these shows is not well received and a success. I know I'm extrapolating here, but you know what I mean.

And I have an intense dislike of everyone associated with it. Why everyone fell over themselves for that bland show with the one of the most nebbishy casts in TV history is beyond me. The fact that they are all doing crap after the show's demise is no great surprise.

They've been too consistent as far as quality for me to just dismiss this show, especially based on what "professional critics" think. I'll start taking my t.v. taste cues from them when I start getting all my world news from Ryan Seacrest.

I thought the premiere was fine. It might not have been the greatest opener ever, but definitely interesting enough to keep me tuned in to future installments. One critic said something about the point not being coherent. But I thought it was very successful in showing the complex love/hate relationship between Hollywood and the tabloids. That was the clear and quite coherent point. Then calling the premiere an embarrassment is quite an overstatement. It was hardly an embarrassment.

It looked horrible. I did chuckle though at the beginning where David Arquette "pretended" to interrupt his wife getting gangbanged in the dressing room trailer. Based on reality I'm thinking.

I don't think I've ever been happier for a show finally starting. But not in anticipation for the show, so I can finally, FINALLY, stop, stop, stop, STOP(!) HEARING THAT DAMN PROMO!! My God. I've been seeing promos for this show since November of last year, and thank God it's finally started. FX seriously need to think about how they promote a show. It's one thing to advertise something. Put it out there, pique the public's interest. But to just pound people over the head over and over again. God daammnnnn!!!...

i've never seen a more simplistic set of unlikable characters in a show lacking dimension or depth. It's like Hollywood as seen through the eyes of bitter religious housewives who claim L.A. is little more than a den of hedonism. The thing is, people want to think Hollywood is place where both tragedy and triumph occur. Dirt is so one note, focused on the sin and the moral ambiguity of the characters, that after one episode, you've already seen the bottom of the barrel these characters are willing to sink to. It starts out so dark, it has nowhere to go but up, and how interesting of a concept is that?
Promos
by J Skell

The promo machine is purely based on getting a huge rating number out there. For those who found them annoying, believe it or not you're heavy TV users and you're hypersensitive to it. You may think you're casual, but you're not. The marketing of these shows is designed to hit as many people as possible so they have to hit the people who are just channel flipping. It sucks for heavy FX watchers, but it's this method that pays off big for cable channels that live or die based on the strength of their one single show at a time. And it works. It brings in huge numbers because everyone knows about the show. Major networks basically have to pimp out shows for every night, so believe me they'd do the same if they were in the cable situation. (And these methods come from high up the food chains, so the same people at the top are making these strategic decisions on the cable vs. network advertising differences.)

I heard on the radio this morning about an interview they had done with her and she was just a complete snatch. They were saying how she's a "private person" and how she doesnt care for the media much. Why is it that people who want to be actors/actress's dont seem to understand that part of that is interacting with those who will be supporting there careers ( the general public) by way of the media.

Fuck this show. I want F/X to bring back Lucky! I want to see season 6 of The Shield now! Hell I want to see season 6 and the final season right now! Is it showing in other places before here? Maybe Canada or England? I want to fly there if so. I pay the money to see for I want to see it now, extreamly. Rescue me also a treat, like ice cream for me. Thief was okay, didn't seem like it could go on much after last epsiode, unless they turned it into something like Leon (1994). Nip/Tuck make me want so depressed that I want to kill myself. Havent seen Sunny show, heard its good yet it hard for me to laugh so I skip it like a flu. Fuck Fuck Soup and The Danger Rangers!!!

and it was cruel of FX to run the Shield teaser at the end. Especially since we won't be able to watch it until April at the earliest. And who really needs a fictionalized version of the celebrity cesspool scene when there's the real thing, and crap like The Insider to placate the appetites of legions of idiots who eat that kind of stuff up?
