In Glasgow, when he was promoting Y Tu Mama Tambien about five years ago. During the Q&A after the screening, he announced that his next project was set in a dystopian Britain (obviously Harry Potter got in there first). My mate decided this meant V for Vendetta, so he ran out, bought the comic book, ran back to the cinema and handed it to Cuaron. Who told him he wasn't actually working on V for Vendetta, but thanks anyway you crazy Scottish nerd. Personally I was just embarrassed to be seen with an exhausted guy sweating on a new comic book, but Cuaron was cool. And I'm not gay either, but yes, he's an attractive fella.

Three great and original films, no matter how good the Departed was crafted it's still a remake and far less original then Pan's, Children or Babel.

has this really irritating tendency to talk way too much when he interviews people. The interview with Guillermo del Toro, Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu was no exception. Hell, all you had to do was sit these three guys in a room together and you would have your show. I am exaggerating, of course, though not by much. Some people need an interviewer to probe, to prod, to get them to talk; though it seems obvious that that isn't the case with Guillermo, Alfonso and Alejandro. Sometimes less is more. Charlie Rose should have stfu, and let them go back and forth. Sometimes I get the feeling that Charlie Rose knows relatively little about the people he interviews. As a result, while he tends to be well-researched, his interviews come off very forced, as if he were instead doing the labors of Hercules or something.

I disagree with you on the Charlie Rose points... I think he's the best interviewer out there and if he does seem to talk too much it's because his interviews are conversations which is what makes them so great. The worst interviewer is Oprah cuz she's ALWAYS cutting the guests off just when they're about to say something important. Oisin5199, it's a professional dream of mine too! It would be so cool to sit down at that round oak table to converse with The Rose himself!

First Charlie Rose is a GREAT interviewer, especially with filmmakers. I've seen two of his interviews with QT and they were both excellent as well. I sometimes wish he ONLY had filmmakers on his program because he does such engaging interviews with them. Even the placement of the three directors (with Cuaron in the middle) was appropriate! Second, is it me or has Guillermo lost a TON of weight? He's lookin good! I also enjoyed listening to him talk the most out of the three...he has such a wonderfully unique way of telling stories, I smiled every time he spoke. I especially loved his description of his movies as "parables," so true. Unlike some talkbackers, I can't choose between these guys, I love all of their work equally. I recently read something Robert Altman said about how he rarely associated with the other 1970's directors (Scorsese, Coppola, etc.) and I couldn't understand that. Its wonderful that there are some filmmakers out there who aren't afraid to exchange ideas with other gifted individuals. I thank Harry for giving us the chance to see this great interview. I didn't even know it took place but it is truly essential for fans of these guys (and I don't know why anyone WOULDN'T be fans of them). I also found it so touching when Cuaron described the joy he felt at seeing Del Toro honored at Cannes...you can just see the joy in Guillermo's eyes. What a good guy...and what a great friendship these three talented people have. Thanks again for sharing this.

Just bring back Alfonso. I mean, all respect for Gilliam, but just look at that little moments shown in this interview from Potter 3. It's magic. The constant movement of the camera, the way the scene is lit, the subtle and powerfull performance of the characters and the build up to the dementor and patronus charm; it's Potter magic. I love the way Potter was shot. All the scenes with Lupin are so beautifull. I remember the one where they walk on the edge of the forest, near the lake, just talking. Or the scene on the bridge where the story tells about how Lupin knew Harry's mom. Hogwarts realy became a magical place in the film. It became the place of the books. A strong element that wasn't present in the other films was the one of the castle itself. In 3 the castle realy felt ancient, breathing magical teachings from centuries ago. It's something that didn't came across in the other films. If only the scripts wheren't so rushed the storyline itself could be done justice. So Warner, give Alfonso that 3 and half hour Potter script and let him make the next installments please.

I agree with JimmyLoneWolf. Charlie Rose is a good guy. Thanks for this interview (EVEN THOUGH THE SITE SEEMS TO BE RESISTENT OF ANY FUCKING GODDAMN BREAKING (my nervoussystem)INDY IV NEWS). I've always admired artists who work together rather than only compete. Especially as I imagine it to be pretty hard to switch off your envy and forget the fear to be ripped off your idea. These three are really amazing. On chud there was some little thing concerning the idea of them (or del toro?) to do three films featuring three different points of views on a kidnapping (think of del toros own experiences with it).

this TBs. Anyways, I haven't seen any of these movies. I live in a border town with Mexico and found out too late that Pan's Labyrinth was already playing there. So I waited for it to come out on the 29th, but guess what, it didn't in my town (there are 4 movie theaters here). I looked it up in San Diego (2 hours away) and nothing either, so I thought "Que la chingada?". Guillermo is one of my favorite directors right now and is people like these guys that make me feel proud of being who I am.
