Casino Royale was ages ago man. You need something new, and Rocky's too obvious. Also that Kurt Russell one is pretty cool, but where's Michael Biehn?

I can't help but feel a little saddened by Quentin once again interjecting himself into one of his films. I'm sorry, but I just don't like him performing. Directing? Yes. Acting? I wish he would refrain.

read badly - as mentioned above - but these are the kinds of scripts that are meant to be seen (not judged as literature) - one could argue-in the case of this type of movie-that the sillier the script sounds the better/cooler the movie will look/be

and talks - in interviews etc. - he doesnt come off as the good director that he is (not that theres a mold) - hes sorta dweeby and spastic - and not as funny as youd expect (based on his movies) - hes a movie fan - but hes got talent - he borrows heavily from other movies but what he makes with what he borrows/steals is brilliant - he knows what he wants to see in the end - and he gets the right people (techs) to help deliver his vision - i doubt hes an expert on photography, lenses, gear etc. - i could be wrong though, i dont know him - but i heard stuff

This Grindhouse didn't interest me at all when it was first announced, but the more I see and hear the more excited I get. If nothing else, I love some of the cast for this one, plus it's topped by the greatest actor of all time, Kurt Russell, looking like he's back to his badass best. Now that John Carpenter is semi retired/semi not very good any more, I would pay damn good money to see a Quentin Tarantino directed Escape From Earth.

I think Quentin taking over the Jack Burton character
by kinghenryVIII

is a great idea. He would need some outside input perhaps, but, damn, that character needs to be revived. Carpenter has lost it. My father made / helped me grow up on his better movies: Escape from New York - The Thing (brilliant, saw both in the movies), Big Trouble in Little China (when I could choose for my self) .... An old grizzeled Snake or jack Burton would rock. Kurt's still in shape and his turn in Dark Blue .... he's still a sarcastic sonuvabitch. Fucking bring it on!

Kurt Is NOT A Conservative
by Bad LT

Kurt has mentioned this in a few interviews I have read. He is not a Republican, he is a supporter of the Libertarian Party. The LP, like most Republicans, believe in lower taxes, less government, and support Second Amendment gun rights. But they also believe in legalize or decriminalize drugs, no censorship, seperation of church and state, and not invading other countries who have not attacked us...KR, who is big on gun rights and hunting, says he got pegged as a conservative by a press that divides the world into liberal/conservative and Democrat/Republican, but that when he gets calls from the Republicans for endorsements or donations he explains to them that he supports the LP. Snake Plisken would support the LP fer shure! Nice to know that one of my cinema heroes is one of the few in Hollywood to share some of my political beliefs.
Who cares is Kurt is a conservative or a communist?

"Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez have lost all credibility in the artistic community as well as in the realm of film makers!!! Misogyny as entertainment and art, is not entertaining and it is certainly not artful, it's just trash!!!" Shut the hell up. Tarantino has spent his career elevating the "low" arts and genres into the "high" art realm. He is a genuine genius. And who the hell are you to speak for the "artistic community" or for film makers in general? Most of the actors in Hollywood would die to work with Tarantino. I haven't heard any disrespect thrown at him from real film makers either. Besides if you would actually take the time to look at his films that feature women ("Jackie Brown" and "Kill Bill") you would see that he glorifies them, downright worships their femininity and power. He is taking on an American genre that has faded in recent years with "Death Proof', a genre that depends heavily upon action and scantily clad women. He is simply following and expanding upon the genre's tropes, like he would follow the Western tropes if we were ever lucky enough to see a Tarantino Western. Get off your high horse and just accept the goodness to come.
Of course, QT has to shove his mug in there
