True story, I have the copyright and everything. And @ IndustryKilla!: I am also always on the lookout for Plants and whatever, but I found this review to be pretty reliable. More reliable than most post-BNAT dispatches in fact, geekily©-written though it may be. Perhaps there are extenuating circumstances for the Butler love.

reminded me of Elliot Goldenthal's score for Titus (Andronicus). Call me old fashioned but I don't think a Trent Reznor style approach would serve the film particularly well, I personally think an ethno classical score is more evocative for such dramatic and stunning visuals. Having said that the Liza Gerard wailing bit is played out, there are so many other choices of timbre, looks like a case of lowest common denominator bandwagoning (i.e Gladiator temp track)

Also it's not that I think she is a plant, but in an event like BNAT its insanely easy for the less cynical of us to let our mind run away from us and just go apeshit for pretty much whatever is put in front of us and forgive faults. That kind of thing is more in line with what I'm saying.

You know - there are two types of review - the austere, detached film critic version and the filmfan's. BNAT is populated by filmfan's - hell, Harry's the biggest filmfan of us all - that's what sets AICN apart form it's peers. It's not a style that suits everyone's - but I like that reviews like Lady Sheridan's don't just coldly dissect a film - they give you flavour of what that person loved about the movie too. Whether you get switched on or off the movie as a result I find is a more reliable barometer of whether ou're going to like the movie than a sentence that starts with something like "The protagonist of this movie, here ably portrayed by Gerard Butler, carries his pathos as Atlas once did the very globe".

Personally, I don't find her very attractive, but maybe that is just catering to my personal taste. Sure, she seems to have become some sort of jizz-fuelled wank fetish for those on The Zone, what with her talk of loincloths and dressing up as Lara Croft, but I suppose she brings it on herself. Could have guessed she would have got a review of 300 up on here, she has been frigging this movie since I can remember!

I'm with Lady Sheridan, I'm so incredibly sick of the wailing woman soundtracks on these films. Yeah, the Gladiator soundtrack was great but the relentless bandwagon jumping is so damn infuriating! I want to hear some more Conan (RIP Basil)-style bombast; the worst offender recently was Troy, which really was horrible - except for the instrumental bits, which were great. Come on, composers, stop being so damn lazy! Or tell the studios requesting 'something a bit like Gladiator' to feck off!

Maybe her grace, LS - firstly, I didn't call you attention seeking at any point, and my point with regards to your attractivness had nothing to do with what I thought of your review, and I believe that when I commented on the review I never mentioned your looks in connection with it, more your geekness for Butler, a valid statement if ever there was one. More it was a response to Harrys comment on your looks thats all. And please, forgive me for gathering an image of how you feel about Butlers and his films, but I can only go on the image that you give out over the net, one in which that you are (for lack of a better phrase) "Gay for Butler." Apologies my dear lady, after all, those who find us Scots attractive are not very widespread ;) But alas, I do not see where this attention seeking comment came from. I made a comment in the Talkback (as they are apparently used for) and someone responded to that, to which I responded and so forth. Attention seeking would be going into every talkback going "The Zone is teh suck" etc... Thanks for the review, LS. I wish this film was going to be "perfect" but I'll take "pretty damn good" too. Butler and all the cast look great in the trailers I've seen so far and I am really eager to see the completed project. I love that your review was by someone who really likes the actors & director involved and has pretty much been following this movie from its inception. I trust your insights and will follow your recommendations straight to the box office window. I'd also love to hear some of your reviews of the other movies you saw at Bnat. Oh, and I hope WB puts it in Imax. Now that would kick ass!
