Is turning into nu-action. WAY too many horror movies, all ripping each other off... wait, sounds like old school slasher. My bad. At any rate, how about making a horror movie that is actually, I dunno, scary? Horrifying? Terrifying? Shocking? Alien, Silence of the Lambs and Seven are the last good horror films. And they're not even horror films. We need something new and original. Giant crocs are fun, sure, but giant killer animals in general has been done to death. No pun intended. That being said, I'll be first in line for a ticket to see Meg or Extinct if they ever get made. Giant sharks don't get old.

no more horror/slasher/yada yada films. for 5 years. then somebody will come back with something awesome and the genre will be revived. oh, and no costume designers are allowed to reinforce typecasting by putting the actors in wardrobe that at this point is almost funny: lead, scruffy sexy; lead female, scruffy hot pants; sidekick, urban street wear; and so on.

this is the sequal to Lake Placid (I checked IMDB). It follows Bridget Fonda's daughter down to Africa where she helped release the child of the Lake Placid beast into the wild a few years ago, and she has to go back to kill it. They cast Michael Caine as a wily bush pilot.

I'm hoping that 'release a trailer and poster that specifically claim it's a prolific serial killer and based on a true story' would be about dead last on the list, just after 'paint it as a family-friendly musical fantasy'. This is actually based on a factual event. I forgot which country in Africa it was, but this nile croc WAS a human serial killer. It would kill people and not eat them. It just plain hated people. It had killed hundreds, was going to beaches near the urban centers, and always eluded being killed. It was also very smart. There was this huge documentary about these French people who tried to capture it. They actually did locate the sucker and he was larger then the vast majority of salt water crocs that Steve Erwin tangled with (which is pretty damn impressive for a nile croc). This croc even killed Hippos. Now if you know anything about Hippos, thats a big fucking deal. Hippos break most crocs in half, literally, with their jaws. Eventually their funding/time ran out and the croc was never seen again. It was assumed that the Army (which was nearby during the capture attempt) killed it after capture failed, but this was never confirmed or denied AFAIK.
